I LOVED that look.  I laughed so hard.

Agh, it's terrible! Though I have to admit, the look she gives Garrus after his "pop the heat sink" line made me rofl. Poor, accidental innuendo Garrus.

And once you get past the initial flirting, the "let's stay friends" response becomes the Paragon route in all the relationships. Thane, Jacob, Miranda, Jack, Garrus, and Tali. I guess having sex is just not Lawful Good.

...

Yes! I'm glad other people are aware of this. That's why I don't understand why someone felt it was worth mentioning under the Garrus Romance section of his article on the Mass Effect wiki. If the game was trying to imply anything from the "let's be friends" paragon route on all the romances, it's that (assuming you played ME1 and romanced Ash/Kaidan or Liara) the Paragon Shepard shouldn't "cheat."

Anyway, it's like many of us have pointed out already. To initiate the romance it's a paragon route. During the final romance scene, you get a paragon interrupt to tell Garrus you've been seduced by his efforts (cracks me up every time). The whole paragon-is-anti-Garrus-luvin theory is trash, imo.

On a completely different note...I LOVE THAT THRESHER MAW PIC. Oh crap, forgot to go +fav it...doing that now.

Edit: HOLY SH*T ADVICE GARRUS FOR THE WIN

Hm.  I'd guess 'less.'  I have no actual basis for that guess except that they have the hardened plates to protect from radiation - for all that they aren't really armor, I can't imagine they don't impede movement at ALL...

Yeah, but their bodies look so much more streamlined that humans. No fat and muscle to limit the joint's range of motion.

On The Look: It actually looks good on my main Shepard. She's all flirty and mischevious and slightly dangerous (as she well should be!). I'm always :police: "Heck yes. Lilith Shepard: Saving the world all day, Getting hot tail all night long."

It looks awful on another one, though. That one has this gaunt-cheeked, huge-eyed, broken-doll thing going on, and that expression makes her look like a zombie.

The only thing I dislike is how "cold" Garrus is with Shepard... in the Normandy. He barely speaks with you outside of his vendetta, he just wants to "calibrate" the cannons all the time.

I mean, you'd think he'd want to talk with me more about the old times, his past in C-Sec, what he has been doing these past two years (since he has been in Omega only for a couple months).

I thought we were friends Garrus. :( Fine Mordin is my new main alien pal.

@Mika...agree...but maybe Bioware is keeping all best things and loads of conversations for ME3 let's hope so. But then, there is always DLCs and maybe even expansion so... I wanted to explore what he has been doing too :( but...damn we got so cutted...I saw Tali videos and they got so much more than we tbh...phew...omg I am complaining :P

I am not very optimistic about DLC, though. They didn't even record new party dialog for the ME1 DLC packs (Wrex has nothing to say about mindless fighting? Or my sweet new apartment? And the Normandy VI is telling me not to go off the map?), unless they seriously step up their game for ME2 DLC, which has been okay so far, considering it's free, but recall that there was zero talking from any other party members (well, aside from Zaeed). Eh, expect the worst, maybe get pleasantly surprised.

I got the same vibe about the "right, because I'm in a great place to..." dialogue, but man does his "ew, humans" remark hit hard. :P

I honestly think that people are blowing Garrus' line about humans way out of proportion. Some people seem to think he was saying that he doesn't find humans attractive in the slightest, or even that he finds humans repulsive. But neither of those are the case at all--what he actually says is that he doesn't have a "fetish" for humans. I don't know, maybe my definition of the word "fetish"  is skewed or something, but I've always understood it to have a slightly...weird connotation, like an unnatural or slightly disturbingly obsessive fixation on something. So in my book, lacking an abnormally obsessive attachment to something in no way automatically means that you have no attraction to it whatsoever.

I'm probably making this overly complicated, but all that to say that I actually took the "I don't have a fetish for humans" line as a positive. It ruled out any possibility that Garrus was considering sex with Shepard solely because he wanted to see what it was like to bang a human, or because it would be exotic and kinky, or anything like that. As others have said, it was about her personally.

(Melisiana - Apologies if it seems like I'm singling you out, that's totally not my intention! I've just seen more than one comment to that effect and I wanted to add my two cents on it. :))

Yeah, I loved Joker's commentary on the crew, especially his "Looks like Garrus finally worked that stick outta his ass, but now he's trying to beat guys to death with it". The only problem is that I ended up hearing it way too often, because even though I cycled through the 2nd slot, Garrus was always in my party (which is why I practically have it memorized by now).

Does joker switch to that dialogue after you do Garrus' loyalty quest? I haven't heard that one before, lol.
Something to consider: Are turians more, or less flexible than humans? :innocent:

Nah, the dialogue doesn't switch (at least not in my experience). That comment is just Joker's stock answer when you ask him about the crew you went out with last.

On the subject of flexibility however, I always thought that Turians were less flexible due to being a bit "tougher" than Humans. Their skin might not be harder per se, just more leathery, and providing less of an ability to stretch. Humans on the other hand, with their more pliant skin would be more flexible, though the tradeoff would be that they're "squshier" as a result.
Garrus himself says that he doesn't have a "fetish for Humans". Might softer skin be a turn-off for Turians who are used to their lovers being less fragile?

@Briallen: Yeah I saw it more as he wasn't particularly attracted to humans, at least not in the way that he would be for a Turian, which was part of the reason why he was so surprised when Shepard expressed an interest. It makes sense too, I mean why would Garrus be attracted to a human physically? The body chemistry is completely different for Humans and Turians, which means that none of the hormones which signal to the opposite sex that the other individual is healthy and available would have the least effect on someone from another species. Additionally, the visual cues (childbearing hips, hourglass figure) which signal someone as attractive are most likely completely different, which of course culminates in Garrus' hilarious attempt to "compliment" Shepard.
I didn't find this off-putting though, since he's just telling the truth. It isn't Shepard's looks that he's attracted to, but the fact that she's Shepard, the woman he respects and trusts more than anyone else. His desire to make their relationship physical is based on that trust, which I believe is what he's trying to say in that scene.

I really liked Garrus in ME2... However, I think he had too few dialogues comparing to other squadmates.

On flexibility:  7:35 or so. Call me stiff, but I can't really sit like that comfortably. (I don't suppose anyone playing PC version can get a proper screencap of that? First playing it, I was all 'srs decisions regarding quarian future D'AWW GARRUS IS HUGGING HIS KNEES :3c' )

OMG, I adored the conversation the two Krogan had on the Citadel. First their talking about eating fish from the Presidium lake, and you can tell them there are no fish in the Presidium lake. When you ask why, one responds, "It's so decadent! It's like ****ing Sha'ira."

Which prompts the other to go on a tangent about how unattractive he finds Sha'ira's small stature and over-all squishiness to be. :lol::lol::lol::lol: Points for Bioware. YOUR ASARI MIND TRICKS DON'T WORK ON KROGAN!!!

I took the "fetish for humans" line to be a combination of Garrus' sarcasm and the genuine sentiment that he actually hasn't thought about it before. Like, "Oh, well, I've never actually imagined sex with a French guy, but now that you're propositioning me, Jaques, it does sound like a good idea." (Only, you know, the French man would be of a different species and therefore the extremely mild strangeness of that situation would be increased by a factor of one million.) Then you just add in a cupful of snark and stir.

I also think it's meant to carry the connotation that Garrus isn't uber-attracted to Shepard physically, yet. He doesn't find her ugly, he probably finds her rather attractive in a way. But she's not his Meagan Fox. Then again, no one ever actually expects to hook up with their Meagan Fox, and I doubt most people actually want to. I have a couple friends who're dating people they initially found "meh, sort of attractive" but liked the personality of, and now rave over the hawtness of those same partners.

one two quick questions: How old is Garrus? And how much turians can live?

Turians have the same lifespan as humans, about 150 years. Garrus is relatively young, in his 30s but not much past it. There's no set date, but he's not older than Shepard.

I also share your opinion..... logisticaly speaking i think it is EXTREMELY  difficult and costly to get the voice actors back to record new dialog.  Now i could be wrong, but it seems like this was the case.  In Bring down the sky the normandy's VI tells you not to wander off the map, and i could'nt help but think this might be because they would have to pay Seth Green royaltys; i mean, why else could they not just have Joker say his ussual line?

Now i could be wrong.....   I'm not saying this is the case.  I'm just basing this on my observations and logic.

I still have hope though for some DLC packs with new dialog.   I have faith in bioware to deliver good content.

I was also thinking of that conversation, especially tha part when the Krogan bemoaned the Asari's lack of places to *cough* "hold on to". Posted Image
I also agree with how you interpreted the "fetish for humans comment" (actually just updated my previous post).

Dude, I think we're allowed to go about five minutes without a post in the thread, lol.

Hopefully Bioware had the voice actors record dialogue for some scenes that didn't make it into the game that they can use for DLC?

And thank you, Anastassia. With the super-small font going on in this game, I haven't actually read any of the codex entries for ME2.

You're not the only one with that problem. I wasn't able to read 90% of the flavour text in the game due to bioware's use of teeny tiny eyestrain-o-vision font. Posted Image
I had to restrict my codex knowledge to the entries kindly narrated by the comforting masculine voice.
