1. Is the animated gif on the first page not displaying properly for anyone else?
2. I notice at least one or two people with possibly custom icons - I've never seen them as a choice and I'd love to know how to set my own, or to at least access the new icons if they're not custom.

I noticed them too, it confuses me so!
So did anyone purposely save right before Garrus's loyalty mission, just to watch him beat up Harkin, and have a intense conversation in the car when ever you want? XD cuz i did....
hahah fangirl fail

Awww yeah, I'm so excited right now! I've commissioned Aimo for a sketch card of (my) FemShep and Garrus.![]()
It'll probably be a while before it's done, but as soon as it's finished I'll show it to you guys and gals. =D
Awesome!
I know, right? I've long admired Aimo's work (since the KOTOR days) and I've always wanted to commission sketch cards, so... this was a perfect opportunity. Plus she likes Garrus and stuff, so it's all good. =3

Thought I'd go ahead and throw another Garrus related video the way of his adoring fans. Something I threw together yesterday afternoon after class about how his paramour finale MIGHT have gone differently:

You know, I'm pretty sure Garrus's quest is the only time Shepard sits in the driver's seat of those aircars (on Miranda's quest, she's sitting on the left and tells Miranda to land). I'm surprised she's allowed to drive anything after the Mako (I almost hope the Hammerhead has squad quotes for if you're a terrible driver; they do speak up when you shoot them, after all).
And did anyone else notice he kind of has red dots in his eyes there, but nowhere else? Picking up some renegade points, there? Jacob did say he has some cybernetics now...

I don't know, the place he hangs around in on the Normandy has red lights only (to the point where shadowing, scars, and lighting make him look fairly demonic in some scenes), but I never noticed any red reflections in his eyes.Eradyn wrote...
Heheh, I took the red dots to be reflections from the red lights. But hey, Garrus could have cybernetics implanted...you never know.

Nissun- I actually think that looks pretty good considering the small size of the stamp. It's pretty hard in my experience to make a decent looking stamp at that size, and you did a really nice job.

Had to make one for the poll.
@enormousmoonboots: My brother's a 40k fan. Has quite a number of large armies, too.
Anyway, I think I'll create that section on the OP for sig banners/buttons/etc. If anyone has some designs they want to share, please feel free to post them and I'll add them up. ^^

Before contributing to the discussion, I'd like to present my point of departure for the Garrus romance. Although Garrus was one of my favourite characters in ME1, I'm one of those people who don't like spoilers, and I hadn't read anything about possible romances or the fact that Garrus would return as a squad member in ME2 before I started playing. So the fact that Archangel actually turned out to be Garrus was a great surprise for me, and it fitted nicely in with my FemShep's need for someone she could trust in between all the crazy people that TIM set me up with.
I romanced Kaidan in ME1, although I wasn't very satisfied with the character or romance. When Kaidan brutally dumped my FemShep on Horizon, she was at first a little heartbroken, but realized Kaidan was nothing but a prettyboy fling anyway. At this point I started reading up on what alternative romances there was, and I was really happy to learn that my favourite character and most loyal squad mate was romanceable. Garrus' change in personality was just a perfect match for my FemShep who is a paragon at heart, but has no problems using renegade methods when needed.
So - in terms of how Bioware will treat Garrus' (and Tali's) role in ME3, I really hope they will keep them both, and honestly, I would be a little surprised if they don't include the surviving squad members we have been rallying together for ME2. A really nice approach to the Garrus romance which would take Bioware's character and relationship design towards a new level, would be to create a triangle drama that includes the LI from ME1. If the LI is back as a team member, he or she might express frustration to see Shepard with Garrus, and Garrus might decide to back off a little until he is sure Shepard has sorted it all out. Then it's up to Shepard to rebuild the romance again with either the LI from ME1 or ME2. In terms of game mechanics, this would reset the romance so that the player would have to develop the romance from scratch, but the past romance would still be evident in the conversations that you would have with them. I'm certain a similar approach could be used for the Tali romance.
Well, I could elaborate, but I guess this wall of text is more than enough from a newcomer

Also, I love how once and a while on here you get someone going "Wut?! Why would gurlz like that ugly guy and not a human?! I am so confused I do not understannnnddd *brobrobrobro*"
*sigh* it's beautiful, really. Maybe because he's the only badass, competent, not dying, not Cerberus, funny, charming, dedicated old friend you have on the ship? And, some people have a thing for scars, of course.

No, do feel free to wall-of-text to your heart's content.
I think how you outlined the possible ME3 showdown is pretty realistic and I wouldn't be surprised if BW offered such a scenario. I think we'll ultimately be able to choose to continue our ME2 romances or to go back, but we'll see.

*agreed*
Also, a quick idea regarding the romance discussion. If you notice at the end just after he touches heads with Shepard, he actually raises his hand and touches her just below her neck. I think it's the first time you've seen him touch your character, and it might be small and subtle, but it definitely means that what's going on there isn't just blowing off steam. He's interested in Shepard for more than just anything pysical. And while he may be able to handle the worst, he's afraid of ruining the one good thing in his life. Thankfully though he seems to take the risk with her. ;D
I think that entire metaphor of blowing off steam was to, on their terms, help Shepard and Garrus make the fact that they're different species and attracted to each other somewhat acceptable. It seems casual at first, but they realize that that's just a front for what's really going on, which is a lot more nerve wracking than a fling. Both of them have been hurt so much, it makes perfect sense they'd find eachother.
Anyway, just a theory!

Garrus was a perfectly created character, I always thought he and Tali were the best two characters in ME1 with such well written backgrounds, and always taught the two of them should have had a bigger role in the first game, and am glad to see that they both returned in ME2 as squadmates. Hopefully, both will be in ME3 as squad mates.
Does anyone think, though, that they are making the character to dark? Hopefully, he stays in ME3 and we get to see Shepard save him from his dark spiral.
