That's Garrus for you. Badass mofo who can kill you with his coolness, who also has a sense of style and panache.

I wholley agree. I mean it happewned some time back so I didn't know the whole story. I had heard it from Garrus and he was pissed beyond belief. Usually he thinks of what the reasons why but this time he just wanted to kill. I was a bit worried as he had not only seemed to have gone back to his old ways but he seemed a little more violent in his thinking as well from his time in the terminus system. I wanted to hear what Sidonis had to say. I stoppped him from shooting Harkin as that would give him a resaon to cause us trouble, but a broken nose should get the message across. I had a talk with Garrus and for the first time he soundede annoyed with Shepard and that struck me as worrying. SO I decdied to talk with Sidonis and deal with Garrus afterwards. After hearing his story I didn't feel pity for him as he had wasted away from his self inflicted guilt. The person that was SIdonis was dead. There wasn't anything left to kill. It was clear he was dead to the world and regretted his actions. So when Garrus told him to go I relaxed a little pleased that I had at least given him a chance to listen to Sidonis. Of course Garrus sounded annoyed, but afterwards he had a chance to process what had happened and he said how he couldn't pull the trigger. It's easy to talk about it but it's hard to do it. And he still saw some good in SIdonis. That was more like the Garrus I knew. I knew that Garrus would be better off for it as carrying arund that hate would've destroyed the person he was and all that work would've gone up in smoke. I guess it's all down to personal taste. I went paragon to get Garrus back and not the thug who was with me. Luckily, I did get him back and I feel good about it myself.

We all know what he's thinking:

"I wonder how hard it is to unhook a bra with these talons..."

That's a good point! I forgot that Garrus said "I can still see good in him". Strip away all of Garrus rage and need for revenge, and even he can see that. The guy is a good Turian; he just made a terrible call in an impossible situation. And for everyone who calms down and gives him a chance, I have no doubt they will be rewarded with something great for the next game. Give the man a chance to atone, and both Garrus and Sidonis come out greater.

Concerning the Sidonis incident and the other loyalty quests, for my FemShep they were all about what the individual squad member was thinking and not about the big picture. She did try to find out about different options, but when a squad member was so hell-bent for revenge as Garrus was, she decided that it was probably worth it to get it out of his system. While I personally may disagree with how my FemShep handled the situation, I think it was perfectly in character for my femShep.

You know what we need in ME3?

Garrus and Tali as the poster boy and girl next to Shepard, in all the promotional material.

Seriously! Who's with me?

Oh man. That will never happen, but I would LOVE it.

It would be awesome, but yeah...not going to happen. They deserve to be Shepard's poster boy and girl, considering they're the only two constants throughout the games (if they make it as squadmates in ME3).

Wow, G-chat is a very...interesting place, haha.

Probably a bit repetitive of what's been said already, but I figured I'd share my own experience with the Garrus relationship.

Having finished my Insanity run recently, I decided on a whim to import my ME1 FemShep the other day and did some research into the romantic options. Garrus has been DudeShep's right-hand man since ME1, so my reaction to seeing him available as a romantic option was something like "hell yes".

The resulting dialogue is hilarious and heartwarming, way better than my DudeShep's pursuit of Miranda. As they both realize that they want each other for who they are, not what they are and that they've both lost so much, yet the other has always been there, it was so much more real. Add to that the really moving moment of vulnerability under all his bravado at the end of the scene that Garrus shares with Shepard("Just once") and I couldn't help a mental "Awww".

My Shep has an investigative bent and a Captain America morality--Sidonis got out of there in one piece. I let him shoot him the first time around and found it really unsatisfying.

I thought your initial meeting with Garrus had an interesting bit of foreshadowing for the Sidonis quest--if you talk to the merc leaders, the salarian tells you that the reason that he's teamed up with the others is that Garrus killed his brother (who also happened to be his lieutenant). Ask Garrus about it, and he's just happy he killed another merc and thinks Jaroth is mad because his valuable lieutenant is dead. Similarly, he doesn't care why Sidonis betrayed him unless you take the Paragon route, which forces him to learn about shades of gray.
