The MMO thing was a slight jab at how many people freak out about customization in those games. Although I'd probably play an MMO set in the ME universe, now that I think about it.

I thought about that before, and now I'd really like to see one. Perhaps after ME3 they might think about it...?

...Also, did someone mention something about playing as a non-human?

Y'know, I see a hack like this, and I feel like putting in all (or almost all) of the ME1 and ME2 squadmates in ME3 wouldn't be that hard. (Though certain characters might get shafted on voicework.)

So I guesss, I can find out how turian/human sex looks like  if I play as Saren and romance Ashley :D ....:? ....wow poor Ashley? :D

Major sacrifice. Now I have to live with the eternal burden of rejecting Garrus - once.

Hurray for saving the game before flying into the Omega 4 relay, though. :D

No problem ;)

Btw, the close-up on the bottle of wine made it even more dramatical. What do you think he was going to do with it? Drink it up all by himself or run back to the store for a refund? I can't help thinking about this

He probably wouldn't drink it.  He's too professional, he wouldn't do that before going through the Omega 4 relay.  Maybe after.  He'd probably be crushed looking at it and feel regret.  That would be horrible having to return it to the store...I can't imagine how embarrassing that would be on top of what you'd feel like being rejected like that. T-T

Depends what kind of wine it was...because Garrus wouldn't cope very well drinking human wine and vice versa...hmm maybe he should have planned this out better Posted Image

Dawwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. Poor poor poor Garrus. I don't even want to think about him getting rejected. How can you say no to a face like that? As the french say: "impossible'!"

I'm going to stay in my own fantasy world where there they hop on the bed, and there are sky rockets in flight and afternoon delight, thank you very much!

It looks like Saren's head on the default naked human model at best, a game crash at worst.

Hello boys and girls,

I haven't read all the pages (too much ^^), but somewhere in the beginning, I saw that some of you don't know (or don't want to find out yourself ;)) what happens when you reject Garrus in the romance scene. I couldn't find a vid on YouTube, so I figured I had to find out myself. I made some screenshots that I would like to share with you. It's heartbreaking, so you should be glad these are just screenshots and you can't hear the disappointment in his voice. I also made them clickable, so view them at your own risk ;).

Make sure you watch a happy ending vid after checking out the screenshots. I don't want you wandering around feeling depressed all day. :)

God. Damnit. I would sooner airlock myself than do that to Garrus. Now I'm depressed, gah!

Quick! Watch one of the happy videos! XD

Seriously, anyone who did that to a person just to be mean...that's wrong. There's something wrong with a person if they would do that purposefully just to turn him down. I can't imagine there are many, if any, individuals like that on the forums, though. :P

Admittedly, I replayed the scene to see what would happen if I shot him down and I felt terrible for quite a while afterward. He didn't disappoint with a witty line to pretend he's cool with it, but he's obviously crushed and it's easy to see in his movements and minimal facial expressions.

We are all so obsessed, it's downright funny. I didn't have the heart to click that option, but I did wonder. I actually think that moment is the EXACT moment he starts coming around to femshep's thinking and is no longer just doing this because she wants it. To friendzone Garrus is like kicking a puppy. To friendzone Garrus at that specific moment is like pouring gasoline on a puppy and setting it on fire.

Well put and I agree.  You don't kick Garrus.  You DEFINITELY don't pour gasoline on Garrus and light him on fire.  Er...the puppy I mean. :P

Ha ha. We truly are obessessed. I was willing to let a great deal of my squad die on the suicide mission in my first playthrough, as long as Garrus didn't bite it. If he had, I would have restarted right then and there. And if I played a FemShep, I would probably plunge the Normandy into the middle of a black hole rather than reject Garrus.

I felt bad, but I was just too curious about what would happen. To me, this rejecting scene confirms how genuine the romance is.

But oh well, I feel better after seeing the happy vid a 100 times and knowing I won't ever have to make the evil step again.

Happy pics for happy feelings

I like Garrus a lot.  He should definitely be in ME3 as a squad member.

Crap. I looked at the one pic with his "heartbroken" face. I need to go watch "Reach and Flexibility" before I turn into a blubbering mess.

I was really hoping the initial "Reach and Flexibility" conversation with DudeShep was going to turn into an opportunity for both of them to talk about previous girlfriends or something but my hopes for bromance were dashed when it was decided that those damn guns needed more calibration.

Poor Garrus. D: My Shepard wouldn't do anything that cruel, and she can be Renegade at times. The happy screenshots are so cute though. :D

That first screenshot answered one of my questions. Garrus has the vids too, but I wonder why he didnt watch them. xD And what did he say that could be offensive in human culture? I haven't finished the game yet.

Hoo, I'm loving all the new posts here in the thread. So I wanted to give everyone a heads-up on the following. I managed to learn how to mod certain aspects of ME2 and am having a bit of fun with experimentations, especially since I'd like to have the option of playing as (or having on my team) pre-injury Garrus.

First, Garrus uses a different head and body model pre-injury, which means using TexMod to "heal" his face and armor is out. The facial textures between the models don't match and they're applied differently. However, even if you use Adobe to cut them up so they DO match, the head model itself has the bandaged area raised into the air - you can still see it even when retextured.

Secondly, his player model isn't compatible with NPC textures for the same reason - the texture layouts just don't match up and it displays them skewed on his body. Someone could, of course, do a ton of work to make them compatible via Adobe, but I lack the skill. For me, hope lies in the .ini file which can be used to swap his appearance to an NPC - I just need to figure out NPC model tags to do so. From there, his face can be given the standard pre-burn Archangel texture (sans scanner) via TexMod. Likewise, if I can locate the tag for the Archangel model, I can simply swap the two altogether.

Finally, I have unlocked the camera and God mode through a mod of the coalesced.ini file, so expect to see a lot of high-res cinematic-style turian NPC pics and turian battle shots in the very near-future (hopefully this weekend).

Garrus is awesome, but I have a question. How do you keep him alive? I use him and Tali, and it seems as everytime I run into enemies, Me and Tali just mow stuff down while Garrus lies dead. :( such saddness.

If you're playing on anything above veteran, most of the fights are going to be just Shepard killing stuff. Micromanaging where they take cover can help, but there are enough bugs with that that there's still a good chance your squaddies will be dead. I kept having problems with ordering my people to cover only to have them adopt a crouching stance next to the spot, but technically out of cover so they can't shoot back and just get popped in the head. Supremely frustrating.
