Hahaha I want to meet Garrus' dad in ME3 so badly. Hell, even if you aren't romancing him it would be fun. But it'd be even MORE fun if you're in a relationship.

Also, I do not want Garrus to have a long lost child or anything of the sort. Ever. EVER.

I agree, none of that long lost child stuff. If there's anything about Garrus having a kid then it should be adopition or something. If it comes to pregnancy or something of the sort then the child should either be human or Turian but I doubt that could happen anyways. No hybrids though, absolutely not.

Okay so a question for everyone based on the "last words" scenes of the suicide mission. I've heard talk of whoever dies having something to say to you (again not sure what part specifically, maybe after swarms at the door). Why I am curious about this? Well I've wanted Garrus to admit that he loves Shepard this whole time, and as terrible as it would be to see him die in the suicide mission, it would at least offer more closure for most of us if we could at least see Garrus was willing to say what he REALLY thought.

Yes it's rather depressing to think about, but I still want to know if he says it. If he says that he loves us in that scene, I will chalk up all the rest of the talk to his usual nervous ways :P It would certainly stop that thought in the back of my mind that this 'could' be a one night stand deal. (as unlikely as that would be!)

Garrus as a cameo wouldn't make sense. I mean, if he's alive, which for most people he will be, what else is there for him to do?

He does like his calibrating...>_<

That would be great - Garrus' cameo in ME3: "Sorry Shepard, I can't come with you this time. I've got calibrations to take care of."

Because who needs a Universe anyway when you've got guns to calibrate?

@ Verrikan, yeah I kind of had this nagging feeling of a friends with extras/one night stand thing. It sort of worried me about the implications for ME3, but I'm bound and determined to stay optimistic.

I bet a lot of money he doesn't say it.  I'm not sure if any of the LI's say anything different at that part, from what I've seen (although that would be appropriate, right?)

hardly that you will find answer here...most of us are even afraid of trying rejection in final romantic scene xD maybe that you try in anti-garrus thread hehe... ye I am really wondering @ about his last words but I guess nothing too much, what would make us to go awww Garrus. I think it would be more: You son of a turian, say it! Why you don't say it?! Ok die, don't care, you used me :(...

I don't know, but my take on it has been...it doesn't make sense that he'd be that nervous over something as superficial as a friends with benefits/one night stand thing. There's got to be a little more to it than that. If it were just those things, would he really care whether it went well or not?

The fact that he is so concerned about things going right at least shows that he does care about Shepard...or maybe just having something go right in his life. Who knows though. ME3 would be a great opportunity to build on what's been started. I personally wouldn't expect any kind of declaration of love before well into ME3 in the case of them however. The last scene, before hitting the Omega 4 Relay, was really the beginning of that possibility  because that's when you really get the feeling that this whole thing is sincere and heartfelt - more than just letting off steam.

Or I could be totally wrong, but I hope Bioware doesn't plan on downgrading the relationship to something less than love.

Please, no long lost and estranged child.  X3

Garrus has dodged the Carth bullet, so let's not invite disaster on him. ^^

If Shep/Garrus were to have a child together, I imagine it would be through adoption.  Really, though, I just don't see either of them settling down enough for even that.  I mean, they're both far too focused on kicking alien ass and saving the galaxy to take care of a child imo.

I'm pretty sure it's not just a one-night-stand deal. For one thing, if you want to break up with him the options are all pretty much "I just want to be friends", which implies that you are MORE than friends if you're romancing him. (Though what Shepard actually says, "I don't want to damage our friendship", is very different from that. Which was annoying. WTF BioWare! Be consistent!) Secondly, he gets pretty sad if you break it off with him during the final romance scene. If it was really just a fling, he would have no reason to be so upset. He tries to cover it up and act like it's no big deal, but the tone of his voice and the cinematography make it quite obvious that he's hurt. I think there are a lack comments like "I love you" because Garrus and/or Shepard are too afraid to say it. Plus, it'd be better to save the more emotional scenes for ME3 if BioWare plans to continue the romance in the finale (and I don't see why they wouldn't).

Lastly, I don't think the BioWare writers are cruel/stupid enough to give us a Garrus romance after all this time, because we wanted it so badly, only to make it a temporary fling. There is just no logical reason to do that. Otherwise they wouldn't have bothered to write a romance for him at all. His romance path is just more subtle about certain things than others--and it relies more on actions than on words. I mean really, I don't think he and Shepard would have stared into each other's eyes longingly in the final scene if all they wanted to do was "blow off steam". So relax, I'm sure it'll be more developed in ME3. If not then we can all write BioWare angry hatemail. :P

What I want to know is what he says after the suicide mission if you romanced him. Most people's games seem to be bugged so he doesn't mention the romance, but surely SOMEONE must have heard him say the correct thing? I can't see BioWare just leaving something like that out, especially since all of the other love interests say something unique if you romanced them.

I agree, maybe they'll let you choose whether you want that or not. Shepard does tell Grunt that he/she doesn't think he/she plan to spend the rest of their lives saving the Galaxy. I doubt there would be anything to do after ME3.

Re: Garrus LI in ME3

I agree that it doesn't seem right that Bioware did some great lines for our fave turian only to sideline him. They must have something in the works as he has proven to be so popular. And i believe the love story will be a big part of it seeing how it is the last game in the trilogy. Hopefully we can see maybe garrus admit to Shepard that he does love her and maybe see him hug her, or Fem Shep teaching him how to hug. Still I remain optimistic about the third one. Bioware made great leaps and bounds in ME2 in terms of story and it would only seem right that They give garrus and FShep some closesure. And I believe that meeting Papa Vakarien will be a side quest but a speech heavy one. being a specture will make it hard but a human specture, thats a lot ot overcome. I only hope that Bioware do give garrus and FShep the love they deserve. They have done great so far and to finish it off with a touching scene with garrus admitting to F Shep that he does love her, then as she hugs him he sheds a single tear. That would seal it for me.

Shepard might or might not have plans, depends on how you play, but I reeeeally don't see Garrus as the settling down type at this point in his life.  I'm almost certain if he tried, he'd eventually start itchin' for some good 'ol fashioned vigilantism. Fighting injustice is just pretty much where he wants to be...though I guess he could theoretically undergo some kind of drastic change in ME3.

Personally, I do NOT mind the thought of Shepard and Garrus traveling around the galaxy, being badass spectres and righting wrongs and .....doing other things.:kissing:

Garrus never mentions his mom, makes wonder a bit about her. Would she be one of those really pushy stay at home moms?

Garrus's mom: honey! Your girlfriend need to gain a little weight! She's so small! * tries to force dextro-food down poor FemShepard's mouth*

Garrus: mom no, stop it! You're embarrasing me!

ROFL. Am I dead? Because I think I just died laughing. If Garrus had this kind of mom that would be -awesome-. Shepard would totally get her on her side, and then they'd all gang up on stubborn Papa Vakarian. >8D

Wouldn't happen, since the last words thing happens for the second team leader, which means as Garrus makes a -good- team leader, he'd have to be disloyal, which means you can't get to the romance dialogue. :(

But I think it's pretty obvious he cares for Shepard. I don't think it's love yet, because they've pretty much had every LI give off vibes that they're not quite "there" (heck Shepard even says it during Thane's). I think they're saving that confession for ME3. But I kind of like it, this budding romance stage, even though he's not spouting confessions there are clearly feelings there, it's not just a fling.

PS @SavageLycan's Poll: Just had to say.. 'Garr-bear' = cutest nickname ever.

PPS: Thanks, now I can totally hear Papa Vakarian as Rip Torn. xD

This is my idea of a perfect ending. I really don't want to see FemShep 'settling down', I just want to see her...
  • Finally get the acknowledgment she deserves about being right about the Reapers
  • Ending up with Garrus. Permanently. Wherever that takes them, as long as they go there together.

Siltsonata's idea reminds me of my own character's ending in DA:O, with Sten. The big, almost-lovable guys that Bioware manages to perfect every time always ends up in my party for the whole game. I hope in ME3 I can just traverse the galaxy with Garrus at my side, but that won't happen because by then my Shep will be PRINCE OF THE UNIVERSE BORN TO BE KING HERE HE BELONGS FIGHTING FOR SURIVAL

Re: Garrus and Shep Ending - I would be happy with anything so long as Bioware doesn't pull a Zevran ending on me where they traveled together for a time. Saying "for a time" is just too vague.

So, last night I successfully recorded Garrus being friend zoned. The key was not actually watching it...
Anywho! Since then, I have been trying to upload it to youtube. But apparently youtube can't convert the file even though it's just a .avi and it's 649 MB (pretty small, imo). Uploading it to xfire (which is the thing I used to record the video) turns it into this strange slow-mo, albeit comical, version of the video. Anyone know of a decent place to upload the video?

Augh, no 'And then they parted ways' mentions. I never romance Zevran, but just hearing that sounded incredibly unsatisfying.

Sorry, I don't know anything about recording video from that sort of thing. Maybe try recording it again but set it to a WMV or something?

However, Kevin Conroy would rock Papa Vakarian I think. Maybe even Michael Dorn.

Holy crap. What was he thinking? Kevin Conroy has too young-sounding a voice for Garrus' dad, IMO. Maybe older brother.
