I suspect that Garrus' romance will bring up a lot of scandals. I can imagine someone as dumb as Udina telling you something stupid. He would probably say that being romantically involved with a Turian makes humanity look bad. I bet stuck up Turians like the Turian Councilor will probably make a big deal out of it. Although the exact opposite could happen and people could start seeing this as a step forward between Turian/Human cooperation. I'd love to see what Garrus' father would think. I think i heard something about female Shepard wearing face paint somewhere in this thread. If it does happen it would be really cool but then again part of me thinks like that's a Turian thing and wouldn't fit well with a human.

I think it'd actually be kind of disappointing if they didn't include prejudices against Shep/Garrus. It would make it seem less real if everyone went, 'Hey, whatever floats your boat, Shepard...'

Yeah I agree, but I'd like to see both sides. Some people praising you by showing that Turians and Humans can get along. I'd still like to see humans calling Shepard a "Turian lover" or someone insulting Garrus. I can't wait to see what the Turian councilor says about it. Oh boy it's going to be interesting how this works out.

I would loooooove to be seen as a Turian lover. Not just because any positive comments they'd then give me would make my heart swell, but because it would most likely cause Ashleys head to implode; and Udina would more than likely go into cardiac arrest. And hey who doesn't want to see Citadel paramedics in action?

In the end I'm not sure if the hero that is shepard would ultimately improve Turian/Human relations, or hurt it. One would hope it would encourage people to treat Turians with more respect and to forget Shanxi, but look at all the dammed racists! O_O Shepard/Garrus could very well be the first Turian/Human couple, and you know what it's like being the first.... Imagine the media..

OH man, that would be the most satisfying punch to Al-Jilanni's gut of the entire trilogy.  And it would be great to have people react to a Shep/Garrus relationship (or any alien) and be able to stick up for one another and put haters in their place! I'd love to hear a news story playing about how having the savior hero of the galaxy in a relationship with a Turian has inspired people to be less xenophobic...

Imagine the ME-verse version of FOX news putting up a story about all the "scandalous interpecies sex" that the first human spectre is having.

Oh, lawl.

(Ashley gets pulled in as the "expert".  Shepard basically tells her "Don't knock it 'till you've tried it.")

this, hahahahah

That would be awesome, especially the positive comments from other turians. :D My Shepard would happily encourage human-turian relationships. The reactions of Ashley, Udina, and that turian councillor (who would only think Shepard is even more crazy now) would be an added bonus. She would laugh at their expressions of shock and disbelief.

I hope Garrus gets the "punch the reporter" option next time. xD

I am a sucker for positive Turian reinforcement, too! XD Like that rodan shopkeeper being all "I'd name my first born after you!" made me giggle-fit like a madman. Everything I do in this game seems to support Turians in some fashion or other, and any time one is like "HI! :D " at me I almost fall over with glee.

I am sad like that.. I would send the entire alliance fleet to defend Palaven to the death (from the reapers or otherwise) if only for one Turian to smile at me or want to hug or something :(

I know what you mean. I even like the Turian Councilor the best, he's the hardass you just love to hate, and nobody can beat those airquotes.

Ooo, I wanna see more Chuck Garrus quotes...let's see...

If you have five credits and Garrus has five credits, Garrus has more money than you.

When Garrus had surgery to cure a gunship wound to the face, the anesthesia was applied to the doctors.

Once a varren threatened to eat Garrus Vakarain.  Garrus showed the varren his fist and the varren proceeded to eat himself, because it would be the less painful way to die.

If Garrus is late, time better slow the f--k down.

Oh hell yes.  I have refrained from punching her so far, but I'd do it to stick up for Garrus.  In fact, I think that'd make it even better: You can insult my decisions,  question my leadership, trap me with interview questions....but you insult Garrus? You're getting gutpunched, ****.

Garrus got a perfect score on his C-Sec entry exam, simply by writing Garrus Vakarian for every answer.

I'm def hoping that they include something like that, because yea... my Shep isn't a xenophobe... hasn't been since day 1.  Should be fun to watch all the pro human people froth at the mouth...

I liked the Rodan shopkeeper. :D That line about naming his firstborn after Shepard was so cute and unexpected, I think she would have jumped over the counter and hugged him if that was an option. xD Too bad Shepard can't go on any of those travel packages he was trying to sell, he looked so cool trying to act out the battle scenes.

I wonder how everyone would react to Shepard letting the Council/Citadel and Earth get destroyed in order to save Palaven, because my Shepard would do the same thing.

Ya'know, it'd be interesting if the turians got their time in the side-spotlight in ME3.

I mean, the first game was kinda all over the place, but the second game had more of an emphasis on the krogan and the asari to me. I wouldn't be surprised if the third game had a world that centered around a turian colony (not necessarily Palaven, but you never know) and we saw more turian NPCs too.

My Paragon FemShep never punches the reporter, but she might if the woman tried to insinuate something about Garrus. :<

rofl @ the Garrus Vakarian facts.

Garrus Vakarian frequently donates blood to the Red Cross. Just never his own.

God offered Garrus Vakarian the gift to fly, which he swiftly declined in favor of ridiculous headshot accuracy.

Garrus Vakarian played Russian Roulette with a fully loaded gun and won.

Garrus Vakarian sleeps with a pillow under his gun.

Garrus Vakarian destroyed the periodic table, because Garrus Vakarian only recognizes the element of surprise.

Garrus Vakarian was once in a knife fight, and the knife lost.

There is no theory of evolution. Just a list of species that Garrus Vakarian allows to live.

Garrus Vakarian once shot down a dreadnought class warship with his finger, by yelling, "Bang!"

You can't search for Garrus Vakarian on the extranet because it knows you don't find Garrus Vakarian, he finds you.

Garrus Vakarian's bullets are so precise, they can fly around the planet and hit Garrus himself in the back of the head.

EDIT: ::stealthily fixes an obvious typo:: >_> <_<

I hope you're right, because it's definitely their turn. The first game was mostly about prothean-related words, with human colonies as the secondary, the second had human colonies as the primary and a lot of emphasis on asari, krogans and the geth. We need more interaction with turians! They're important, darnit!

This would be very likely especially if ME3 is to concentrate on gathering galactic forces to stop the Reapers. ME1 and ME2 have emphasized Turian weaponry and other war designs are ideal when it comes to space battle. The original Normandy was a collaboration between the Alliance and Turian designs. The upgraded guns on the SR2 that owned the Collector ship at the end of ME2 were Turian.

Maaaaannn...Turians are real deal OPERATORS.

Part of why I'm glad their not introducing a TON of new races. (Even the Drell teach us a lot about the Hanar.) There's plenty of room to develop the existing ones. Hoping to see lots of Turian/Salarian focus in ME3. And the Volus. (Who are, after all, a Turian client race.)

-On Tuchanka, Garrus got twenty-four mating
requests. There were also seven for his sniper rifle.

-Mouse didn’t wet his pants at the sight of Thane.  He saw Garrus first.

-Garrus Vakarian once kicked a baby krogan into puberty.

-When you open a can of whup-ass, Garrus Vakarian pops out.

-Garrus knows what Tali’s face looks like.

-The reapers aren’t stuck in dark space.  They are waiting for Garrus to die
before trying to invade his galaxy.

Right... I'd prefer to hear about turians than any new race they could come up with, frankly. They've been in two games already and have barely been mentioned compared to the rest.

ROFL @ siltsonata. Seven for his sniper rifle. Can't... stop... laughing...

I'm thinking the third game will mostly focus on turians, quarians and geth (how could you not see that coming)

Anyway, Garrus is my biggest bro ever, would be a permanent addition to my squad if not for tali. I personally believe that the Tali fans and Garrus fans should form a coalition as it seems many of our goals are simmilar. Garrus is awesome.

The keepers weren't bred to take care of the Citadel, they were bred to keep an eye on Garrus Vakarian. They failed.

Garrus once tried to use an L2 implant, but the implant couldn't handle Garrus Vakarian and it had to be taken out.

Garrus Vakarian doesn't need biotics; he just has to glance at things and they run away screaming.

-Garrus chose to get hit by that gunship. He was tired of looking so damn good.

-They named the bridge he held on Omega after Garrus once he left. They had to rename it later unfortunately, because no one crosses Garrus Vakarian and lives.

-Before going after humans, the Collectors tried to take Garrus, but he couldn't be bothered. He was in the middle of some calibrations.
