Either Garrus bulked up, his armor did, or both, cuz he's huge compared to what he was in the last game. In ME1 I was convinced that he was a pretty light fellow (Avian) and that Shepard could totally throw him if they ever got in a fight, but now I'm not so certain.

Well we saw what he did to Harkin. Plus Harkin looked so small next to him. I'm pretty sure Garrus could take down Shepard or at least give him a good fight.

Oh, I wasn't talking about skill, I was talking about just weight and using the fight for an example. Garrus was one of the top ranked hand-to-hand specialists on a turian ship.  That has to mean something. (....other than the fact that he totally has game with the laydeees.)

He's using heavy armor in ME2; in the first game he could only use light and medium, it's a pretty big difference.

Seems like it.

I never noticed much of a difference between light and medium armor in the game for him, and also little difference between medium and heavy armors for humans (although that's barely related.)  Probably the reason I 'd when I first saw his footage. Then I :o'd.

I never noticed the armor thing. Not being a perv (at least not now), but I would have liked to see more of what turians look like without the cloth. The concept art is very cool, but in the romance cutscene he seems shaped like a coke glass to me. Maybe I'm just a "leave the armor on, baby" kind of girl.

Garrus Vakarian was fired from C-Sec because his mere employment was interpreted as "cruel and unusual punishment"

Garrus has been my wing man since ME1, and that tradition continued in ME2. Great character in the game, and in a way he was the brother to my Shepard. Without a doubt he needs to come back for ME3.

That picture is old though, its from ME1's concept art.  I think Turians probably look more muscular now. That's why we need to see a naked Turian in ME3's romance scene. Otherwise we will never know how muscular and how big their collar bones are without armor or clothing.

Exactly. *nods* For the good of science, we must see a naked/half naked Garrus.  For scientific study.  Yeah.

Not because we're a bunch of rabid fangirls or anything.  :innocent:  This is scientific, folks.

Speaking of, did anyone else get a kick out of the way he just -picked- Harkin up like that without any effort? Wow.

FemShep: I am both horrified and kind of turned on by your display of brutality, Garrus. It's very confusing.

Why do you think they look more muscular now? Turian NPCs have been reused from the first game. Just because Garrus bulked up a bit doesn't mean the entire species did. None of the other aliens have significant changes from their concept art (and nobody but new races got new concept art), I don't see why we shouldn't go off the concept art when there's no other source.

Yeah, definitely did.  :3  It was like...wow, Garrus.  Didn't even look like you struggled with that. ^^

But his junk is missing :o.

Clearly, changes must be made to the concept art :bandit:

I'm assuming since Bioware said the LIs are going to play a big part in ME3, that Tali and Garrus will be there. I won't expect them to be team mates because this way I'll be pleasantly surprised if they are. Then again they said the LIs from the first game, or at least it seemed that that's who they were talking about.

I'm just thinking we might team up with our old crew to take on Reapers and Cerberus.

I'm still not looking forward to Liara approaching me about cheating on her. I'm actually more worried about answering to Garrus than Liara.

Off topic and almost completely out of bitterness, I hope the Kaidan thread does not surpass our page numbers.

Anyway...I feel like this argument/discussion about the concept art has less to do with Turians looking different and more to do with Garrus' anatomy. Compared to other Turians, we Garrus lovers probably imagine him to be of a more muscular sex-machine malien build. Yes, that sex-machine part was necessary.
;)

They only problem with this Garrus Romance is that it has somehow made me believe that Bioware is full of benevolent gods who will grant our deepest desires, if we all wish upon a star very hard. ;)  Unfortunately, this translates into me being almost 100% sure they'll be LI's and squaddies in ME3.  (Dreams really do come true! They proved it!)

A small, teeny tiny part of my brain is sadly observing and cautioning that I'm setting myself up for a gigantic disappointment.

I think the armour makes them look more imposing, a proud race.

Many designs for costumes are just for show. For example in Matrix or the jedi, you can't move in those rags without tripping and breaking your neck. As much as they try to make you look cool, in real life they are awfully uncomfortable and they get in your way...it's just suffocating.

Usually the costume represents the character. An important character must always stand out so he gets special treatment.

Haha, I commented on that on the previous page. The Kaidan thread did surpass us briefly, than Garrus surged back ahead again...barely. Not sure what the standings are now though.

But it doesn't matter. They can have their fun, but as far as I'm concerned Kaidan is very dead.

I'll love Garrus no matter what his anatomy is, because he's Garrus and Garrus is the shiz nizzy.

I don't know how Bioware pulled it off, but for me, the whole Kaiden romance felt like a booty call, even though it was intented to be deeper. Then here comes Garrus, being all like "yeah, let's blow off steam together", and it was SO endearing and sweet and I'm very attached to that character now.

Kaiden can go to hell, he threw a hissy fit when I saw him again in ME2 and acted all judgemental and wouldn't listen to a word I said. If he thinks he can just apologize in an email, he's SO wrong. If he wanted me to forgive him, he should have fought the Collectors. I hope Garrus gets to do to Kaiden what he did to Harkin in ME3. o.O
