I can think of a few: hilarious, traumatizing, and zombies.

@Kim Shepherd I'm with ya. Honestly, I think turians are one of the most original looking alien species designed. In the past they've all been some sort of variation on "the greys", or insectoids, or blobs. Bioware really broke the mold with these guys.

While I do love Turians, I don't think its possible to be all that original anymore when its about alien morphology. I've seen similar species before, like the Vasudans from Freespace. I myself have designed a species once that the Turians now remind me of. I guess that's why I like Turians; I can easly see my own ideas come alive in them.
Many of their traits are very understandable. They are digitigrade like walking birds and theropods, from which they probably evolved. Their upper lip resembles that of seals and many dogs (and even many snakes) and makes them look appealing to humans. Their mandibles remind me of the Predator. Just a to name a few examples :)
An interesting social life and structure, species specific quirks, culture, instincts and such things are more important to me than morphology. It is in this category where a fantasy species can really shine.

@Silvermcc Agreed. While physical apperance is naturally a big element, I think Turians also really appeal to me because of their martial society and unique culture and little quirks. It's just a all around solid species in this genre.

I just turned Garrus down in the last romance scene (out of curiosity TBH) and he says something about "torn ligament". What the hell?

Also ME aliens are one of the best in any media. Very well thought, biologically probable (aside Asari) and original. Turians are among best I've seen so far. Also Batarians, Elcor (pheromones motive is amazing!). BW did good in this departement.

This is one of the reasons why I like Mass Effect so much. :) The alien species are all designed so well - each with their own characteristics, culture, history and science. Turians are my favorite, but they're all awesome.

Oh, that's his brave little way of trying to justify shepherds rejection, by saying he probably would have hurt her 'doing the do' anyway. Poor widdle Garrus.... *sniff*

Too bad we don't know all that much about them yet. We even know about Quarians now and have visited the flotilla twice (1st in ME Ascention, 2nd in ME2). One would think that a Turian world should be easier to set foot on than the secluded Quarian fleet. :(

We'll get there....someday.  *shakes fist* Ya hear that, devs?  Palaven in ME3 OR NO COOKIES FOR YOU!

EDIT:
Is anybody else almost sad that "calibration" is now a totally ruined word for them?  It will never be the same.

...On the other hand, anytime I hear it I'll think of Garrus, so there's good in there, too.^_^

Yeah. Imagine: You go to a  Turian custom officer on Palaven and hear: "Can it wait a bit? I am in the middle of some calibrations." You:  *RAGE*

When I first heard it, I was all "Damn, Garrus had some kinky plans..."
...and then I cried because that zoom in on the wine bottle is so freakin sad. Ugh, every time I think about it, my heart sinks a little.

I think he drunk it alone and dropped. Srly they did this scene to be very intense. First time I felt bad over fictional character. FIRST TIME.

After FemShep rejected him, Garrus took that wine down to the battery and... well, that's how he developed his 'drinking problem'

C'mon people! Don't let this woos Alenko beat Garrus in page numbers!

BTW I didn't know that there were so many people who actually liked him. He was trashed after ME1 release I think.  IMO Jacob is better or I just have allergy on goody-two-shoes characters.

Bump for awesome. Also, I've asked before but do any of you guys love how turians are digitigrade? How they walk on their toes with that big spur thing on the back of their legs? That's the number one appeal for me. I love turian legs. When Garrus talks I'm always staring at those spur things not his face. What the heck does that say about me? I don't even want to know. I thought that maybe only male turians had those...like how a rooster has spurs. That would tie in with the avian thing. I actually hope that is the case. It would be a really cool masculinity thing...even better than collars for me. (The collars and humpback actually wierd me out a little.)
