Which is clearly how he survived his gunship encounter. Magnum stops projectiles in their tracks.

I only romanced Kaidan on my very first go-through of the game to get the achievement. It wasn't until I began to like Garrus and want him as a LI did I stop romancing Kaidan with my main Shep in every replay.

Anyone else think that Garrus went to talk to Mordin A LOT before the romance scene? I mean, some of Mordin's lines are specifically tailored for what happened in Garrus' scene.

Von Verrikan was nice enough to post it a few pages back - i977.photobucket.com/albums/ae254/vonverrikan/umodel2010-02-0820-10-13-32.jpg
It seems there is a lot of Kaidan hate here. I wasn't excited over him going into ME1, but he totally won me over to the point where (until Garrus as a LI was revealed) I was determined to stay faithful to him in my main FemShep playthrough. Of course, what with ME2 and the utterly craptastic LI that is Jacob (who is constantly compared to a "less bland" Kaidan) I am starting to wonder if I simply fell for Kaidan because I didn't have an alternative male option.![]()

On the matter of digitigrade legs that was being discussed earlier.
Digitigrade has to do with what part of the body comes into contact with the ground when a being walks, and bone configuration, not necessarily shape of the leg. The ankle is usually greatly extended in digitigrade creatures, and most of what we consider the foot is comprised of their toes (digits), and the balls of their feet.
It's kind of hard with turians--in a lot of the ME1 concept art, they're shown with feet than lean more towards plantigrade (humans are plantigrade), especially the early pics of Saren. In the new artbook, Garrus is shown with a slight digitigrade stance, though he could just be poised on the balls of his feet.
Krogan, and vorcha are the only races with a pronounced digitigrade stance, by our standards. Salarians and quarians definitely have a curved shape to their legs, but they appear to have calf-like musculature below the bend where the ankle joint would be. Krogans pretty obviously have no musculature below the ankle bone--I can't find a good picture of a vorcha, but I recall them having a similar stance. Geth stalkers definitely look digitigrade, but they're machines and do not possess bones or musculature, so they don't really count.
Of course, terms likle digitigrade, plantigrade, etc. only apply to creatures from earth. So I propose that the official scientific term for aliens whose legs bend in strange ways that don't quite jive with Earth biology crazyleg stance.
TL;Dr turians have crazylegs.
And on a side note, I love their spurs. I wonder if, unsheathed, they could do some damage to soft, squishy people like Commander Shepard? I wonder how long it would take Garrus to notice if someone tied a bow to one of his?

zomg I LOVE this idea. Someone also mentioned a few pages back about Garrus questioning the human crew members in regards to Shep's attractiveness/appearance (as seen through the eyes of her own species). Cuuute!

Like a landing strip?! Can we say "bioluminescent happy trail", people?

I am of the personal opinion that the "spurs" are actually vestigial digits (think: dewclaws found on mammals, birds, and reptiles), due to turians having three digits per hand. They have the two toes and then the vestigial spur-like "toe" on their legs. I do wonder if they can get any modified use out of it...perhaps it helps with heat management? (Think: rat tails XD)
Mr Heatsink wrote...
I was thinking the vestigal spur on the back of there leg might be a useless addtion of the body. Like Tonsils and the appendix to a human.

Well, the human body does still get some use out of those organs, but I think it safe to say that they aren't "mandatory" for survival. I think it equally safe to say that turians wouldn't be completely at a loss if they lost one or both of their vestigial digits. XD

Well we know that turians have junk thats true. The poin t being how would those spurs be used for mating? Maybe I need to do some "research" and find out how this works. But i guess with out the female of the speices we won't know. Still like maybe they are just bits of the turians body that eveloved unesscearliy or maybe it has to do with Palevens weak gravity as it has a metal poor core.

Amen. I know that it's more than likely that one group will be left holding the bag while the other gets all the goodies but I really hope that everyone gets their way for ME3. It's the end of the trilogy, they could at least throw us all a bone right? D:Ragabul the Ontarah wrote...
On another note, UH! If Kaidan comes back at Garrus' expense I will spit red hot coals. I hope those guys get Kaidan back and we get Garrus. I don't want to compete, and I REALLY, REALLY don't want to lose.
