A Belgian gamers magazine of december 2014 (gameplay) states that  Aaryn Flynn would have let slip that there is a remastered version of ME trilogy in the pipeline.  Next to the graphical updates for next gen systems all the dlc's would be seamlesly integrated.
Also the trilogy itself would be seamelesly integrated so no gamesave imports nessesary.
The combat mechanism of ME3 would not be integrated into ME1.

Anyone know this is true and any estimation of when?

If I recall, Aaryn stated that these were the most requested features to include if they were to do a remaster. Not a confirmation that they were and what they would include.

I doubt they would rework ME1 combat. I'd utterly love that, but it's too much work. It's pretty much remaking the whole game.

They would not do it because of the work but because they would not want to rewrite history.  This is what the magazine stated.

This is not a confirmation. These are all things Aaryn Flynn talked about during N7 Day if a remastered trilogy were to happen. The main reason he said ME1 wouldn't get the ME3 combat makeover is that a small, vocal minority of BioWare fans actually enjoyed ME1's combat (one man's trash is another man's treasure?) and BioWare wouldn't want to deal with the fallout. It would also be too tedious and too much work for a remastered edition. If a remastered trilogy does happen, it's likely it won't be happening anytime soon.

I still hope for more specific/smaller fixes/changes. For example, fixing Elanos Haliat to be the turian he was supposed to be, adding cutscenes for the Normandy leaving the Citadel in Mass Effect 3, having access to your Mass Effect 2 cabin accessories (such as the sphere you got in the Hammerhead assignments) in 3, Mass Effect 2 style journal for 3,

Aaryn also took to NeoGAF to ask posters there for their opinions on things they'd like to see the most, which is... not something someone in his position does unless it's in the works IMO. It just doesn't happen. So, barring unforeseen circumstances, I mark this as a given. Question is when.

Why NeoGAF of all places? Why not BSN? Honestly, I believe it was merely a ploy just to give people something to think about on N7 Day. Not that a remastered trilogy won't happen, it probably will, but I really don't see it happening anytime soon. Certainly BioWare won't be doing the makeover, as they are going to be busy with the next Mass Effect and the new IP they created.

GAF might seem an odd choice, but it does have industry insiders among its ranks. Lots of people in the know over there.

I don't know, maybe you're right. But every fiber of knowledge I possess on the do's and do not's of his job position urge me to believe it's coming. And I'm generally a skeptic in life, too. It could be a year or more away, but yeah, it's coming. Aaryn's questions were sort of stunt-y for sure, but that they were asked is strong evidence it's happening, by someone, at some point.
