There's no reason at all into why we are required to have a target in order to strafe whilst were blocking with a shield, why can't we just press the guard button and be given the ability to strafe instead of it still being locked into a character rotation? yeah sure the target to strafe can work decently but it's a complete joke when you're trying to crowd control and let's say an enemy just jerks his way behind you which forces your character to also turn that direction and then if you have several archers attacking and your character just unfortunately turned around...oh well say good bye to your health, very similar situation with enemy assassins except they will blow your health up if they get you from behind.

So it's bad enough that the combat and what not is a steaming pile of dog turd but what bugs me is the fact that so many things should generally be fixable and improved, this being a major want on my list to make tanking both on single and multiplayer actually work properly, on a control pad you have to switch targets like an idiot with your thumb stick whilst being tunnel visioned which I find really nasty, whereas on PC we have to right click an enemy in order to target which is fine...except right click is also used to unselect an enemy and target nothing, now what happens when you're trying to target an enemy in what ever direction and you accidentally right click nothing whilst you're moving backwards? well you just unfortunately unselected a target and now you have your back to the enemys as well, again if these are a bunch of archers then say good bye to your health.

I made this thread especially because I enjoy the tank role but it's so heavily flawed by the target system (and the fact that right click is used to both target and de-target an enemy which can get you killed/heavily damaged) with the fact we simply just can't strafe unless being focused onto an enemy which makes no sense, I could understand if we were perhaps using an N64 controller with only 1 analogue stick or something but the fact is we aren't and we're constrained by this joke of a control system in a game that's trying to be an action combat game.
