Point is, Being OP doesn't last forever being a jerk about it however, that's something that sticks and will follow you around like a bad smell.

Why must we fight in front of the children? Is this why we can't have nice things? Ohh wait... No. It's because someone who already has what they want character and equipment wise, who solos Threatening, has to join a Routine PUG to complete challenges, dragging other players, who still have yet to unlock all characters or get decent equipment, past their means of doing so, simply because Routine level amounts of Gold and Items are beneath them, as are the other players who might want to break pots and open treasure rooms....but they need to PUG to meet challenge unlocks and level recently promoted characters. Phew

Solution: BA solos Threatening with newly promoted character with mad awesome Equipment they already have unlocked, until BA is high enough level to run Perilous. This way, those of us who do not want to be dragged forward get what we want and BA gets their challenge unlocks and XP faster... Because they are just that BA... So yeah... Problem solved.

1) in the katari thread I never once insulted him. I said his class deserves a buff. In that very same thread, you convinced me you've never gone beyond routine. Go look at the other people's responses that were INFINITELY more rude than mine.

2) my attitude has nothing to do with screwing people over, you're just making crap up. When I run through routine or threatening my teammates get free, easy, fast wins because I am well geared and knowledgeable. Hence my extensive friends list and all the people who ask me for advice

In a thread where folk are discussing the issue of people that are rushing through ops and screwing the team out of Gold.

That's why I asked not so politely if you were a AW or Reaver player because that's where the attitude is most commonly found.

There's a difference between having a difference of opinion and being quite frankly a stuck up Elitist about it.

You could have easily said "Well I don't mind that people go do their thing with full clears but I'd prefer to speed run it"

Also, literally every time I pug a freshly promoted character I come across at least 1 other person doing the same thing who then adds me to friends and bolsters the number of people I have to run perilous with.

Pugging perilous is infinitely less successful than using friends list. Too many no banner + no emblem lvl 14-16 archers

If anything you should be mad at the system that's in place. You're asking a player who has put in 100s of hours into MP to slow down to a painful pace for a petty amount of gold comparatively to perilous. Sounds terribly inefficient. I myself am going to clear through the rooms with or without you, and if I see a door I can open I'll open it and continue. Also, you attacked him for acting like an elitest jerk, when in reality he's just among players who have put in more time than you and play the game efficiently, and sorry there's no sugar coating that. If there was an easier way to do it, trust me I'd avoid the routine and threatening community altogether

FACT - if I was the only person who felt the way that I do, this thread wouldn't exist.

FACT - I said you're welcome to spend your own time in a low difficulty run with me opening treasure rooms while I gladly clear the next room in effort to complete the run faster. This results in you getting the gold you want, finishing the run in a timely manner, and being able to complete more runs in your limited time you have to play (assuming you're a normal human being with things like a job and/or a life)

FACT -I teach people in low difficulty runs how to beat the game effectively. It's shocking to me how many people don't know how to beat demon commander. Run with me, you'll know how.

I ran into a bunch of Russians earlier who promoted and played their lvl 1 characters on Perilous. We made it to stage 5 in that game and finished all the other ones.

 

So far my experiences with Perilous pugs have been quite positive. Most of the no banner Archers seem to be on Threatening.

I've pumped a fair few hours into the mode myself (up to around 30-40) I commonly play Assassin but also a full Utility Barrier specced Keeper and a Holy Wrath Templar (more Tank inclined) I stick to Threatening mode as I'm not having the greatest RNG luck in terms of loot (plenty of purple runes only 1 level 23 white Bow in more chests that I care to count).

I prefer to play to the pace of the team, if they are speed running, I'll speed run, if it's a full clear so be it, the needs of the many and all that.

I like to do 2 Runs before buying and Checking what Crafting/Salvaging/Gear I got, Normally 2 Full Clears net enough gold for 1 Large and 1 Medium chest.

While I understand that those that are geared for Perilous prefer to Speed Run, it's that they don't respect the desires of the three other people with them. While I'm sure they could solo the whole thing perfectly fine, is it fair to expect three perfect strangers to speed run too if they aren't hosting? Not really.

We are all in the same boat after all, the RNG treadmill, some get lucky and geared quickly, others don't and need all the gold they can get for more shots at loot.

Wouldn't it be better to strike a compromise? such as hitting only the Treasure rooms that are directly en route and merely a loss of seconds than forcing them to lose all the treasure rooms and thus potentially having a lobby filled with annoyed players that may remember it when they are finally geared enough for Perilous and repay in kind with vote kicks?

Just how I feel on it.

Who cares how many hours one puts in a game?
No, he is not playing the game efficiently. He is blasting through an ez mode game, doing much disservice to newcomers that would like to learn to play the game and gathering some gold for getting better equipment.
If he was efficient he would take his level 1 kit in a threatening or perilous game, with his buddies.

As an aside, I'd just like to say: I hate, hate, hate, hate running into people like you. I've been trying to get into the multiplayer, but when every other game I feel like a third wheel just tagging along for the ride it completely ruins any fun the multiplayer might have. It might a 'free easy, fast' win, but I'll take a slow and steady win where I actually feel like I contributed.

 

It's actually one of my biggest complaints about the multiplayer so far. (Although I have very limited experience with it due to it) The importance of gear in terms of weapon damage is absolutely insane, and in a lot of ways it feels like it negates the point of levels in a lot of ways. (At least on the lower difficulties) I've seen like 15+ characters still not doing any significantly more damage than myself when I was trying out archer at level 5 because they were still using crappy gear, if not the starter gear, while I've seen level 1s who just roflstomp everything with their silly high damaging weapons.

 

It's incredibly frustrating. And it's not just myself at the least, I know the two friends that also have been messing with multiplayer have stopped bothering entirely because of this.
