How does Thousand Cuts work if Sera is an archer, like how does it compare with twin daggers?

I notice twin daggers are like 4x the damage so should I equip these first before using them against a boss?

Seeing as you can't swap weapons mid fight I'm wondering how you best use this talent....

Thousand Cuts works fine with bows. And bows work perfectly with Flask of Lightning. That alone gives me a reason not to use Daggers on her. Flask of Lighting plus auto attack is what makes Sera the best DPS companion we have, not her Focus ability.
Besides, with Bows she can attack from any distance, doesn't need to get close, waste time and put het at risk. The AI also does a decent job attacking from a distance. Though the thought of putting two daggers on the hands of the AI has never crossed my mind, people who tried it tend to say it is pretty terrible.
Also, daggers should not out damage Bows by this much. Maybe you just haven't found the good ones yet (many are acquired via crafting only).

Tempest DW Rogue + Thousand Cuts = Fun (in my opinion), mostly because you can currently abuse Flask of Fire and use TC without expending Focus. Also, it's a fantastic single-target damage dealer, but lacking when it comes to multiple targets (just doesn't feel as strong).

Tempest Archer = I think is a better choice, considering Bioware will likely patch the Flask of Fire bug. Therefore, using Flask of Lightning + auto-attack or Flask of Fire + Full Draw would probably feel more awesome. Plus, it'll probably feel like Thousand Cuts when you're putting arrows into enemies about as fast as Oliver Queen.  ^_^

Thousand Cuts works fine. It just won't be as devastating as with dual daggers, since it takes the base DPS of the equiped weapons and bows don't compare to daggers in that aspect.

As the poster above said, you want to full specialise Tempest on Sera anyway. Once her Tempest tree is fully specced, do this:

1. Start at max shoot distance from the target.
2. Flask of Fire
3. Longshotx4 (First 3 won't cost Stamina or trigger cooldown. You can use 2-3xFull Draw instead, but it takes longer to cast for about the same or less damage, depending on distance to the target).
4. Flask of Lightning.
5. When you see the animation of Sera chugging down the Flask, switch to another character and leave her autoattacking whatever you want to destroy.
6. Watch whatever she's shooting at melt down in seconds.

If it's a difficult fight like a Dragon, you can empower the effect by casting any buffs/debuffs right before she drinks the Flask of Lightning (Horn of Valor, improved Taunt, etc). I'm taking ~50k health per "cycle" with that on Nightmare difficulty High Dragons. And you can repeat it every 20 seconds or so. It's just sick.

I oneshotted Corypheus with Thousand cuts 3tier with Sera and a crafted bow(3rd tier metal, not even Dragonbone) and had to reload the game.

had buffs on like horn of valor, blessed blades, flask buff and most importantly maxed Mighty offense tonic.

she can kill the entire battlefield with that lol

I found an Enhanced Ring of Thousand Cuts for +30% damage.  That's really nice.  Has anyone found rings for the other focus abilities?

Err no you are looking at DPS not damage.

Thousand cuts and all abilities go off weapon damage not weapon dps.

Typically for a companion you want to go archer as DW rogues while capable of providing significantly higher DPS also require more attention than the AI can provide.

I am playing through again using Sara this time as my archer rogue.  I used Thousand Cuts from her on Florentine after I started getting my rear end kicked on Nightmare.  Sushi time.
