I'm attempting to create a thread that will include problems/bugs and other issue's that are present in the PS4 version of DAI.

 

Please help me by making me aware of other problems that you might be experiencing, ideally on a consistent basis, so that we may help Bioware address these issues more formally instead of haphazardly. I will update according to new problems addressed by other PS4 users...

 

PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE WISHES OR DESIRE OF THINGS YOU WANT TO BE ADDED. I want this specific thread to address issues that are implemented already in the game and have glitched or otherwise don't operate as intended. The problems I have come across are as listed:

 

Single Player

  • Ability rings/potion & grenade belts not functioning as intended
  • potions disappearing and ability rings do not adjust skill as they should (Not sure yet if fixed)
  • Skills not functioning in sp/mp
    • PSA: Stonefist's combo is bugged, will just cancel your debuffs
    • Some mage skills don't function AT ALL
      • Gathering storm (does not apply to many other mage skills)
      • Dispel/Mind Blast skill upgrade (sometimes works but only dispelling barriers/rifts, not on detonations)
      • Detonations not impacting as they should in combination with certain skills
      • Possession skill (Dorian) causes enemies to become an undefeatable NPC you CANNOT interact with if you leave a room or area and return back. Can cause quest to be impossible to finish.
      • Revive spell does not revive when cast in tactical view. Only in real time does it actually revive teammates.
      • Using rogue skill Hook & tackle while Flank Attack is cooling down causes the cooldown timer for Flank Attack to restart.
  • Voice change after meeting varric's friend
    Spoiler
    • Changes to whatever your race default voice is (american accent dwarf/qunari, british for american/elves)
  • Tac-Cam bounce back when switching between characters in tactical camera
  • Party members teleporting to different locations on the battlefield during a fight and/or losing elevation advantage when placed in certain locations.
  • Dialogue banter
    • Many "tricks" to fix this exist for people. I have yet to try them out.
  • AI needing to maintain long range distance from targets (ideally people wouldn't want to micromanage something like this but I assume we can if they can't patch it).
  • Skyhold customization bugs (designs don't appear, people disappear)
    • Teammates disappear from designated locations
    • Landmark banners that are placed are standard inquisition banners as opposed to the ones designated when selected in the Skyhold customization undercroft.
  • AI holding when indicating HOLD. At certain distances they run over/respawn destroying a carefully laid plan (particular to returning into real-time action mode).
  • Certain quests that require a certain amount of items will re-initiate  even after they are completed if indicated amount of required items in actual inventory falls below quest required threshold.
  • Dialogue wheel will disappear, disabling the player from making a choice. Only fix is to restart. Occurs randomly during dialogues. 
  • Loot sometimes drops within solid objects (rocks, etc...) or unwalkable objects (ropes, chains) making them inaccessible. Probably due to elevation glitch/bugs.
  • Dialogue freezes when (A possible fix is waiting a couple to few mintues, or impatient people can press square a couple times but the consequence of that is missing dialogue)
    • meeting friend of Varric's friend 
    • romancing Cassandra (requires dialogue skip to proceed). 
    • Talking to Dorian on occasions.

 

Multiplayer

 

I have not engaged as much with multiplayer as I have intended. Nonetheless, any input from you guys would be great.

 

  • Skills that don't work
    • Reaver Rampage bug: self-heal doesn't work for rest of match (after dying while skill is active)

 

P.S. - Please do not make this a thread about how Bioware failed at their job or bla bla bla. This game's scope is absolutely immense. Bugs unfortunately do exist. This thread is intended to help solve those issues so that the scope and grandeur of this game can be fully explored without these detracting/distracting glitches/bugs. (I am not innocent of ranting and saying rude things... if any of you see me on DA reddit you know I have lost it sometimes, but I'm trying to be constructive for the sake of my sanity as well as being apart of the solution)

The landmark banners I place are always the standard Inquisition ones no matter what I select in the Undercroft.

It's hard to subdue the subconscious, thanks for trying.  

I've been working characterization of several bugs in game mechanics and I don't think any of what you've listed is platform unique.  However, you might want more feedback, as I've been looking at logic errors and things that force a crash.  At a minimum link you findings - sorry my mind is a bit off -beginning to feel like the matrix blonde, brunette, redhead - looking at this code.  I have never finished the game, but it can be fixed.  Infact, Origin has snuck a few small edits in and a cross platform DLC fix was discussed for some of the bigger issues, but intellectual property issues come up.  I was in one of those IP discussions earlier, had to cool the lawyer hate down a few notches - you are right cooler heads will prevail -Stay constructive.

Please add the following bugs for Multiplayer:

  • Reaver Rampage bug (Self-heal doesn't work for rest of match after dying while skill is active)
  • Consistent duplicate low-level items from supposedly RNG chests (multiple duplicates of low-level uniques cannot possibly be random).
  • Indestructible Pots
  • Tier 2 Armors for Necro & Katari

I need you to be a little more specific on what you mean by indestructible pots and Tier 2 necro & Katari armors. what exactly are the problems

Game breaking bug:
If u use Dorian possessing skill on an enemy and leave to the next room or area and come back, the possesed guy become an NPC. Cannot kill it, no more glow around him and cannot interact with him. He will just go on and keep patroling.
I encountered it at the Ball scene where u needed to clean the area to find harlequin. I never could finish the quest because I created 3 immortals like this. Needed to restart the whole main quest

I couldn't believe what I saw in that list. Ability rings not working? However, after going back to the game and testing it I've realised it is completely true. 80% of all ability rings are broken, and I've been using them exclusively during my playthrough to no effect at all.

So nothing you do can remedy this. I've had this occur to me as well at moments, but restarting DAI usually solves this. Is this a persistent problem that occurs frequently for you? Also what do you mean by "lock down"?

Very simple quick fix. While in conversation press L1 and u will be move the wheel handle.it comes and goes unpredictable.

All finished quests do not lock down. Means every time u check in codex under finished quests, they promt again u finished them.
also if for example for a quest u needed 30 elfroots and u finished it. If in your inventory any time through your playthrough you have less than 30 elfroot, the quests activates again and under finished quest u can see 13/30 elfroot. It keeps tracking your inventory even it is finished. And if u get again 30 elfroot it promts again the finished quest sign. Every single time.
So none the quests that needed ingredients lock down.

Today after siding with the mages and going into the castle, once you are able to control your character again I fell off one of the platforms and now its just on a constant loop of my character and Dorian being respawned over the ledge and we just keep falling and respawning over and over again. I really don't want to have to restart or anything but I think I'm going to have to start again from my previous saved file, any tips on this?

I had a seperate list for the last thread like this but i've decided i can live with those they seem funny in comparison to this which occurred after i tried the Wyrm Hole side quest (which is also bugged sometimes the wyverns aren't there.)

 

1. Barrier won't launch it takes 3 times before it's down.
2. Potions can't be used.
3. My team members (mostly blackwall) ignore orders to hold ground at choke points.
4. After dying my inquisitor stays on screen and I can't change characters.
5. After dying and trying again Blackwall goes down and I can't attack with my staff only spells.
6. My attacks have stopped targeting my enemies and are now targeting Blackwall as he lays in the dirt.
7. I finally manage to lock on to an enemy and attacks work again only now I can't deal damage it's as if I'm throwing paper.
8.Fade Rifts aren't closing.
9.Mind blast buff to Barrier is not working. If i'm not mistaken it's damaging my barriers.
10.Characters running on the spot and can't move regardless of rotation.
11.Potions only healing 1 bar of health.
12.Characters move up and stand directly in front of the enemy in formation and don't attack letting themselves be killed.
13.Barrier targets enemies automatically.
14. White reticule indicates i am targetting an enemy but spells strike open areas behind the target or walls.
15.Can't claim landmarks near fade rifts,
16.Electric attacks from my staff hover in the air and don't move until the fight is finished
17.Enemies pass through wall of ice as if it doesn't exist and once the spell wears off there is an invisible barrier preventing me from passing.
18.My companions are now running away from fights and attacking walls with enemies on the other side instead of following me and attacking enemies in front of them.
19.Barrier glyph doesn't appear so i can't tell where i'm placing it.
20. Brutes turn invisible and reappear next to you.
21. When fleeing combat your enemies spawn in with allies.
22. Characters hold ground and stop attacking without orders.

23. Enemies can't be hit with ranged weapons or targetted at all you have to swing a sword in their general direction. 

24. Companions run into areas i cant get in and i can't get them out again. 

25. Staff can't fire if there is a downed companion in front of me or next to me.

I was trying to look for a PS4 community technical support but did not find it, will post it here.

Was playing yesterday, and when i got to the Upper lake area, my game crashed and mentioned a error.

I reported it to sony thinking the problem was solved, but when i load up my game, the crash corrupted all of my saves.

Is there a patch for the console to resolve this issue? PS4 has major issues as well. Sorry for the inconvenience of posting this here, just couldn't find a category for ps4 issues, all i saw was pc concerns.

 

-No dialouge wheel at times, halts progression.

-Game freezes when you do certain abilities such as leaping shot, etc.

-when you jump, you stay in the air, and you glide as you walk.

- Game freezes as you running to merchants

-Loading icon and traveling prompts look tetris-ish

-No banter at all

-When you get to certain areas, game crashes.

-Enemies stuck in the air after death, loot also stays up in the air

This sounds terrible. Those are an immense amount of troubles on your PS4 version of DAI. =( I'm going to need a few people to confirm this, but this is definitely an issue you should directly contact bioware through their troubleshooting forum. I will add some of those to the list if I get more individuals with the same problem. Good luck.   :(

I can confirm 3. 15. 20. 21.and 25.
Also add, though it is kinda useful glitch, that killed enemy's loot just like the enemy sometimes they teleport right next to u, instead of staying where they died. It might be connected to the grappling hook that pulls enemy to you.

Banter is an issue I believe they are trying to solve... but if you experience no banter whatsoever, I highly believe you should get into contact with bioware to send your save file as they are having a hell of a time trying to reproduce the problem. You might be the solution to everyones no banter problem. Does the game freeze when you run toward all merchants or a single one? What "certain" areas does the game crash? How frequently are enemies stuck in the air (I've had this problem but it was due to elevation. Sometimes the loot would be within a rock or on a rope)?

I've had the loot teleport happen to me as well. Only problem is that it can also work against you if you on an elevated object (rock, etc..) pr underneath a rope or chain in which case it could go under or on top and render the loot inaccessible.

I will try to get in contact with them so i can send them a ps4 save file for the banter issue. Sometimes in haven, when you go torwards the merchant, i would get a freeze, then the game continues as normal. Happens sometimes in Redcliffe too. My game crashed when i traveled to Upper lake camp (Fast travel). Corrupted all my saves, had to start over. I fast traveled to the same place again, and it didn't happen. The frequency of enemies getting stuck in the air isn't alot, Happened to me while killing some hurlock alphas at storm coast, killing brutes around mercenary camp area in hinterlands.. again happens once in a blue. The constant freezing during attacks such as leaping shot, and some aoe's does happen frequently.

Also, does anyone on PS4 get a slight freeze in conversation during "here lies the abyss" and romancing cassandra?

Happens to me all the time. Waiting it out does fix the issue, but should be added to the list.

Yeah, this is happening for a lot of people, including me. It freezes for exactly one minute, then continues on as normal. It also happens in certain conversations with Dorian.

I would like to add that the banners do appear correctly inside Skyhold, but out in the field they are also supposed to change, no?

this my several issue

 

- before skyhold  always get 1-2 sec freeze when enter or out from haven gate

- cassandra romance scene get freezing same as conversations with dorian.

- banner are broken only stick (only dwarf banner work)

- silence party chat on field, sync skill sound problem

- 1 time get corrupt save 

- bard in tavern not sing anymore & krem always stuck in wall

- get 5 crash

- no more music on field or skyhold.

- sometime freeze when open character skill menu.

- really slow opening inventory or buy from merchant

 

maybe the res are same, but not noticed it yet.  suck if ability ring not working
