I agree too. He also plays a more rugged and realistic version of bond, one who doesn't mind getting his hands dirty for the job which was quickly made evident to me right from the starting of casino royale.
You mean... The scene where the bad traceur guy leaps like a monkey and floats over the concrete wall with the lightness of a cat, and bond follows... Bursting through the same wall like a tank would do with a piece of paper?

Or when, earlier in the same scene, the bad guy finds a way into a construction site, hides and believes he's out of Bond's reach... Until he bursts in through tons of materials on a goddamn bulldozer?

Haha yeah, it is clear from the very start that you're not watching an old fashioned 007 movie. Which, I believe, is also the strength of these new movies, cause they were refreshing. Mind you, I loved Connery in that role too, but Craig isn't bad either. Different for sure, but not bad.
