I went thought the paragon ending, was so much fun. I used Legion as the guy who went into the vent. And I used Samara to make the barrier, and Maranda to lead the other team. Sent, Legion with my ship crew. All my team made it though (( Found out that Maranda heals fast so it was a good thing I picked her. )) OMG and I was like"A HUMAN REAPER" you have to be kidding. Great ending. My game messed up the first time i fought the reaper. It would not let me blow up the last power cell on it, so I had to do the same thing. Good thing because I picked Tali first to run the other team and she died lol. Playing renagade now, can't wait to see how that plays out.

I liked the end scene when the Reaper fleets are activating, and the whole Collectors are mutated Prothean things was a great twist.

Really sets the stage for ME3.

Thankfully I did not hear that from any third-party and experienced it for myself.

Normally no one dies if you a) do all the quests and B) all the upgrades. Just a remark.

if you do all quests and upgrades, people can still die if you send them for the wrong task.

Garrus died if sent to the vents, from above tali seems to die if asked to lead the fire team. wonder what else

I did the exact same thing. Although Mordin died in my playthrough. I was so upset!

Playing again with the soldier class. Also, I am not sure why Mordin died, but I didn't get every single upgrade. I completed the ship upgrades though.

I think it has to do with personal upgrades as well, I did all the ship upgrades but I know for a fact I didn't upgrade Legion at all and he died for me. Thane also died for me and I did not improve biotic powers that much.

My thoughts on the ending: BioWare has a LOT of questions to answer. Why the comically giant human Reaper? Obviously it is a new tactic, but why does it have to be so large? Do the Reapers take the form of beings they integrate? That would make sense, and mean that their current form is not their true form, but Prothean. We already know the Protheans were Squid-like. As for Harbinger... I don't really understand how he can be awake without it invalidating the entire point of the first game. If he activated the Reapers at the end, then why did he need Sovereign at all?

Sovereign wasn't trying to activate the Reapers he was just trying to activate the Citadel Relay so they could return from dark space. The Reapers can still make their way into the galaxy, but it's gonna take some more time unless they find another way to relay in.

So was Harbinger a Reaper or the Collector General, that's a discussion I'm having with my friends now.

This is what you should do:

Get all upgrades from your party members. Talk to them, investigate, and then go to UPGRADES (Legion does not have one).

Have Loyalty for all party members.

Take Miranda and Grunt with you at all times.

Send Tali through the pipe.

Make Garrus squad leader.

Make Samara your biotic.

Send Jacob back with the crew.

Make Garrus leader of the squad (again).

That worked for me.

A Reaper.  He was possessing Collectors similarly to how Sovereign possessed Saren at the end of ME1.

I think Harbinger was controlling the Collector General. That's at least the impression I got.

I imagine Harbringer was a backup for Sovereign. Recall that the Reapers have been doing this for at least two cycles now - surely they realize the need for more than one creature able to recall them when the time is right. Sovereign failed as an obvious, imminent threat, so Harbringer attempted a more subtile way of eliminating what seems to only major threat to the Reaper's goal: Shepard.

Wasn't there a reference to Harbinger in ME1 somewhere, and people speculated it was the name of another Reaper? It certainly sets a theme for grandiose names for them.
