Do the other 2.5 schools of magic become enabled later in the game or something via quests, or is my mage pretty much stuck with being a primal mage?  I was rather shocked when I went to allocate my first point and didn't see entropy or creation anywhere, and a really odd spirit tree.

I mean, hey, that's actually okay I guess, but I'm kinda bummed I won't get to send anyone screaming into the night from the boogymen I put in their heads.

A good number of the remaining spells ended up in the specializations, but a lot of it is also just gone (like healing). Necromancer/Mortalitasi has horror, walking bomb, death syphon, etc. Knight enchanter gets basically a light saber, some defensive stuff, and some ghostly/Fade abilities. Rift mage has more primal stuff combined with the force mage specialization from DA2 and passives that take advantage of weakened status.

The most fun magic school is not in game? How can i play as a Dalish second or thirth, without Keeper magic or any nature magic at all? Throw bee jars? This game has countless stuff from many other popular games put in, but essential dragon age stuff is left out.

Yeah, they've pretty much stripped mages down to the barest minimum. In DA4, Mages will just have the option of fire, lightning, or ice spell. In DA5, Mages will just be by title staff wielders with no power. DA6...what is a mage again? <_<
