Mass Effect is done. If they really wanted to do something more with this series they should've, y'know... had a different ending that didn't damage the series beyond repair and also left things more open-ended?

Personally, just the fact that Casey Hudson and the doctors are gone is pretty significant to me. I don't want to be all negative but realistically expecting a continuation in the same vein as past Bioware or ME games is somewhat unlikely IMO.

Yeah I forgot about Casey Hudson leaving. Interesting that he left not long after the "trailer" the OP posted. Hell, the only things they've even shown from the game are concept art and "conceptual prototypes." And keep in mind it's been almost three years since ME3 came out. Now I'm not privy to goings-on at Bioware of course but it almost looks to me like the game is in development hell and they don't really have much of anything for ME4. I wouldn't be surprised if they cancel the project at some point and it would be for the best IMHO.

Probably better than both of those anyway.

Or you can ignore him and watch some mobile suit Gundam  :D .

What's got me truly concerned is the fact that ME's quality could drop as well. I mean, on a next gen platform you'd expect it to be awesome but when it comes to story, the last game that promised an unforgettable story failed in that aspect (And the fact that there's NO Europa!!!!!). The quality of games and media in general has fallen.

ME 3 was a good game but truly was rushed. ME 1 and ME 2 were the true core of Mass effect.

Now, this doesn't mean I don't trust bioware. I do trust them, but to my current knowledge, they answer to EA. I might be wrong however.

The second I encountered ME's universe I fell in love with it. A Universe that even surpassed Halo's. I'm worried however that this wonderful journey might come crashing down, if it hasn't already.

As for canceling it though...

It happens to beloved games all the time. Zone of the Enders was a victim to it, so was half life. Mass effect could be on the chopping block as well.

I have a few Forgotten Realms books written by Drew, but I don't recall if they were decent. Seeing as I don't remember them at all, I think I'll settle on them not being decent.  <_<

How fitting.

A lack of cognitive dissonance would be my guess.

Cognitive dissonance, Huh? At least I don't say that i like a game and then tear the whole lore apart and call it nonsense based solely on my personal opinion. Besides, If you really think my views are contradictory, Then you're not really even trying to understand them.

What does lore have to do with anything? I'm talking about the main plot here, not history and lore.

Isn't Casey Hudson way too good looking to be a game developer? That's probably why he left, to pursue a modelling career

Contradictory?

That's not the term I would use, but I do feel that you have an interest in ME that may be blinding you to the story flaws that Mass Effect 2/3 had. To some extent it's understandable since you likely spent over 100 hours on the game series, if not more, but that's still not a valid reason to say that there was nothing wrong with the story. Fast Jimmy already did a decent enough job at explaining them.

If we are to get highly technical with the term, you're going through belief disconfirmation.

Spoiler

He also looks far too young for his age.

He most likely just got fed up with everything and left. Can't say I blame him.

Look, I've seen and read almost everything that has anything to do with mass effect. The original Mass Effect 3 ending plans explained why the human reaper was created and answered many other unanswered question from ME2, Therefore, I guessed that The ambiguity of mass effect 2 was there on purpose, Not just because they weren't capable of creating a new and good story. Believe me, I had complained about ME2's issues when i first came out, And it was a bit disappointed when they left the plot open at the end of ME2, But i had later figured out that they actually had a plan. As for the corporations, I have explained this before.
