Yeah I was pretty disapointed when I got into the meat of the game and realized the zone altering decisions had been cut. Don't get me wrong I still enjoyed the game but the static state of zones and lack of threat Corypheus's presented in the game(after Haven it never felt like was making any sort of move to attack the Inquistion) was its weakest points for me.

Huh? Zones change on what you do in that area. The Exalted Planes shows the biggest change, same with the Hinterlands, Crestwood and Emprise.

I don't really see any noticeable change. The biggest change I've seen is the draining of the flooded area in Crestwood. Having static camps and occasionally a static keep doesn't really change the area as they aren't shown as having an impact.

Crestwood becoming day instead of a rainy night, All the outpost in in the Exalted Planes being filled with soldiers and soldiers walking around the area once you do those missions, killing the rebel mage and templar leaders removing those  factions all together ect. To me that is change. Whatever you expected it to be more is a different can of worms, but zones do change on what you do there.

Those changes don't feel significant, to me. I see them, but I don't really feel them, excepting Crestwood, to a degree. I was happy to emerge from the tunnels to clear skies, in Crestwood.

Of course, I then left that zone, with no reason to ever return, grinding my way into the next static zone.

I wish i didnt see those links... its honestly a half made game. They should have delayed the game launch. Thats the problem with big companies once they see the millions they lose the interest in making products to be proud of and be recalled of and it seems like they rather have everyone hate them for some more profit.
I not sure who to point the blaming finger on , bioware EA or both? but i hope they are proud and happy with all the bad reactions they are getting after 2 years of hard work.  All for the sake of profit ehh?

They did delay the game, twice. There isn't any blame to be handed out since that would infer that Bioware had done something wrong when it comes to changing the content. One reason for the changes could be that they wouldn't have been able to properly develop their original plans and instead went for a product they be able to ship and be proud of.

I am more interested in knowing why than placing blame, at least when it comes to the changes.

Well i didnt know they delayed the game but.. they done some bad decisions because no matter how to look at it the game lacking so many importent things that if i make a list it will be a very long one. They are spending alot of time on fixing stuff now anyhow... and having once more a big hit to their reputation. They should have delayed the product some more and maybe given up on big projects for future DLC such as multiplayer which is a standalone anyhow.  Because honestly even after all the patching the game will still lack many things that i dont think it will be possible to change after launch day.
P.S But then again those are my reaction because i wanted to believe they will deliver a product to be remembered for many years and not something to play some  and then forget about untill the next game in line, specially after DA2.

Playing captain hindsight I would say that multiplayer should have been a $10 DLC a few months down the road. I would assume those resources could have kept in a lot of things that got cut out.

also with races is impossible to reuse the Inquisitor for cameo or appearence for next DA chapter.

I would be shocked if this were the case. Why wouldn't it work if you could select a race and build the face, much like how it works with Hawke? They are planning to iterate these systems across games, including franchises (ME) so I don't buy this statement.

You know, most of the things there I don't really think would have made the game all that better, just bigger.

What is a shame is that the environments exist to be big areas and don't serve the story terribly well. So for that reason the retcon of some of the 'impactful' choices like the Crestwood decision is a shame I agree.

Ultimately, environments should be created to support the story, not the other way around, if there is no story or you need to resort to 'filler' quests, there should be no environment, or it should be reduced so the story 'fills' the area - otherwise there is no logical reason for a character to be there other than wasting time. That is my main complaint with DAI in an otherwise great game.

Please do not remind me of the awesome game that we almost had. It makes me sad. :( I still like DA:I, but being reminded of all these awesome things that almost were in the game is just...ugh.

You pretty well nailed it. No reason to have the vast majority of the main quests all take place in their own small separate areas when you have massive zones all over the place in need of more content to fill them. Inquisition is a really good game overall, but the potential was/is there for much more.

If they were really "almost in the game", they would have been in the game. Companies don't cut nearly-complete features just for the heck of it; that would be an enormous waste of money. If something was cut, there was a good reason for it.

They did show full demos of the Crestwood content after getting the fort, so at the very least there was a significant amount of resources put into an additional questline that never made it into the game.

I couldn't agree more with this.

Inquisition was a good game and one that I enjoyed, but it was nonetheless a disappointment. Compared to what was alluded to and what I expected going in, I have to confess that large parts of the game felt rather shallow and empty, even repetitious.

I think there's a point where a trade-off occurs between gameplay quantity and narrative quality. Dragon Age doesn't need to ape the Elder Scrolls and, frankly, it isn't particularly good at doing it anyway. I'd much rather have smaller-scale, story-heavy maps in the vein of Origins than the grindy and occasionally tedious mass expanses which we were delivered in Inquisition.

One more thing I'd like to add, I did feel very underwhelmed by the impact of previous choices. Pulling nations together and interacting with the eminent figures of Thedas really did seem like a golden opportunity to make past choices fit perfectly into the story and have familiar faces reappear without it feeling forced a la Dragon Age II, but all we got really amounted to a few throwaway references. The Keep team did an absolutely sterling job putting that feature together, but Inquisition's treatment of previous choices did sort of make it feel like an exercise in futility, IMO.

Agreed. I was actually asking myself through out my first place through, "so when do I get to claim a spot and build a fortress?" "Where is this village that has a game changing decision?"

I like Inquisition as it is now but I really fell in love with a lot of the features that were marketed during the early stages. This is where we come back to Bioware saying they are working on bug fixes and adding in the content that was pulled from the game. Yes, that likely means DLC content that I'll have to pay for and I suppose I'm actually fine with that.

This is actually the point where I my mind starts ticking away, thinking of some kind of happy medium. I know EA is a business and like any business they want to make money, I also know that features in games can take longer and cost more money than first thought, no one really knows till you try it. Which then leads me to the question of, why didn't the game Devs part launch the game with only the multi-player content. Pre-formation of the Inquisition, with a fitting and evolving backstory.

Make it very clear that it isn't the full game, rather it is just the multiplatyer aspect which will received staged upgrades as the main game becomes closer to launch. Sell the game cheaper than a standard title, with the option to buy equipment chests (already a thing), and use the multiplayer aspect of the game to add bonuses to the single-player game. Cosmetics and fun gear for starters.

Support the multiplayer game well, market the multiplayer aspect right and you might have your own new "esport thing". All of which can be used to buy more time and gain more funds for the main game.

Night turning to day isn't really due to the Inquisition, though. I think it would have happened anyway :)

Ending fight was underwhelming.

Corypheus is just a glorified choir boy. A choir boy!!!!

It was still a big step up from the absolutely lackluster Archdemon battle in DAO.

In our beloved Hinterlands, clearing out the bandits and neutralizing the Templar and mage forces results in peaceful NPC's passing through.

Just wait until all the cut/removed content are "offered" through "dlc" in a "special offer" for a "great value" for a "complete experience", lol.

I loved when the Warden Keep changes after you finish it and you can no longer go inside!  Riveting gameplay.

Bioware - don't forget to celebrate your player for every little choice they make.  They're weak - and they need to be reminded about how what they're doing in a fantasy world "makes a difference" - otherwise, how are they going to feel like they've done something?
