This reminds me a bit of when I saw VtM Bloodlines at E3, one of the things they were showcasing was the different ways to resolve quests and used the restaurant critic quest as an example. As a Nosferatu or Gangrel you could use Animalism in the back of the restaurant to send hundreds of rats pouring in. You can't do it in the actual game though and it was never added back in even with all the player-mods that restored content.

I am disappointed that area narratives aren't in the game, more disappointed if they were actually cut from the game. Hopefully they will realize it was a mistake not to have it in future content. They do learn, sometimes though they just shoot a little past the mark.

As much I hate to admit it OP makes a good case, even little features in the EA demo didn't make it to the game, like the mage pc snapping their fingers instead of using staves for attacks. That small cut actually disappointed me a little for some reason. Oh well I enjoyed the game all the same, I'm gonna try not to spend forever on this forum on what ifs and coulda beens

Some of it may be saved for DLC, I do understand the staff adding DPS and such but, I also wish we could be staffless mages and use accessories and other gear to get the same stats.

Colonel Mustang just came to mind. Snapping my fingers with fire spells!

Neverwinter Nights 2 had excellent single player campaign. you could totally change the plot with choices, skills\classes\companion approval had meaning and by far it had best keep\fortress management system.

They did show full demos of the Crestwood content after getting the fort, so at the very least there was a significant amount of resources put into an additional questline that never made it into the game.

Fair enough, but I strongly suspect that the Crestwood demo was only presentation-ready--that is, made to look good for the presentation of the quest itself, but its full effect on the game was most likely not in place yet.

Hopefully the keep features make a return in an expansion along with meaningful quest and more Skyhold upgrades.

Yeah I got hyped about the whole keep thing.

I'd rather had that than multiple races honestly.

Don't act surprised, Bioware have a long history of frauds and lying to the community. Some guy on Mass Effect forums assembled a list of failed promises and lies regarding ME3 - it was a LONG list.

many people like the game as it is, looking back to the 2013 video I am very happy I was cautious. There is so much stuff missing or just plain wrong with the game. The bads outweight the goods and its quite sad considering the ME3 and DA2 events.

well I will wait and see if they fix it with patches or DLC, in the mean time DAO and DOS will be my RPGs.

Personally I'd put multiple race options way down the list of things to care about as well. I think that there are enough people who insist that this feature remain that I don't think that BioWare is ever going to deny it like they did with DA2. It kinda makes me hope that the Mass Effect team never go down this road, because I'm silly like that.

Yep. :( which is kind of bummer.

And yeah I hope the ME team stays human too. (Plus I'm no that interested in the other races anyway).

I think races would still be pretty important to me, to be honest, but perhaps their implementation could be limited by narrative considerations, i.e., the races available are the ones which have the greatest stake in the story (I'd suggest human and dwarf for Origins, human and qunari for DA II, human and elf for Inquisition).

If they're going to scrap anything, I'd much prefer they get rid of the open world.

Whoa whoa whoa, mulitple races may not be a big deal for some of you, but it is to me. This probably sounds stupid and petty but I wasn't planning on buying the game unless I got to choose my race. It's vital to role-playing for me, I used to only play as humans but DA2 made me realize how little replay value there is with human only protagonists. I don't know, I guess it's the hipster in me, but how could anyone want less? Makes no sense to me. The games fine as it it, Bioware can't do everything

I think it's simply that they struggled with FB3.

The introduction of multiple races adds far much more permutations. A Dialog option could potentially include 3 more options, more models, animations(not really because animations are usually rigged and reused),armor types. The race part did seem a bit incomplete though. With the scope, there is also resouce management. The parts of it that didn't make the cut for QA were not included and stripped down.

They can cut all the races as long as the PC is a dwarf. No humans
