I'm doing a ME3 run and for some reason the Docks Holding Area will just give me a infinite loading screen. I've waited 10 minutes before having to turn off my PC in order to get out of the loading screen lock.

This is the only part of the Citadel the problem is happening on.

Only the 'solution' of going there from the docking screen is what I can find on Google. Yet I can't do that since I haven't been able to activate it by visiting the area in the first place.

Does anyone have a solution?

Does the alliance operator give you access to it?  In other words, she'll say something like, "Do you need transport?"  It will then give the option of where to go.   If so, you may wanna try that.

But no, I've never heard of the bug.

She says those words but doesn't give me access to the Holding Area.

As I mentioned it isn't 'activated' by going there while on the Citadel.

Some more info.

I've installed a few mods. I'll provide the list if requested. I am dual booting Windows XP and 8.1.

These mods let the game load to the Docks Holding Area without issue on Windows XP but just give an infinite loading screen for 8.1.

Could you not send somebody your save files, have them get the area activated, send the files back to you....problem solved?

(Have never done this before dont know if that would even work :P )

If you have mods, use ME3Explorer's AutoTOC tool on the PCConsoleTOC.bin in your ME3 install folder\BioGame
Usually, infinite loading screens are there because the TOC.bin is not properly adjusted to the different file sizes that the modded files have.

Don't know why I didn't think of that MrFob.

On XP the PCConsoleTOC.bin was updated automatically by the ModMaker. For some reason on 8.1 it didn't do the same.

Yea, not sure why but sometimes it doesn't do it properly. Seems to depend on the mods and the version of ME3Explorer you use as well. Anyway, can't go wrong with using AutoTOC. It will always set everything to the correct values. Hope it works now.

Yep it's all working fine now.

I'm having to go through and set-up both my XP and 8.1 hard drives again because I foolishly let family on my PC and somehow they managed to not only mess up both operating systems but delete the Acronis back-ups too.

To say I wasn't happy is somewhat of an understatement.
