I notice that I never get duplicate schematic drops - if I already have it, I will never see it drop again. Which leads to an interesting question.... anyone knows if the schematic drop table/pool is shared?

As in, does every schematic have, say, x% drop chance individually; or is there a Y chance to get a schematic any time the loot rolls? If the latter is true, this means that buying/picking up T3 schematics would steadily increase the chance of getting the remaining schematics, which has handy applications for the chest-reload farm methods.

If the above is true, an even more interesting question is whenever Masterwork schematics are part of the said pool or not.

typically the tiers are completely separate loot tables... there is an area off of emerald graves that drops T3 that most people farm I forget them name.

Masterworks are definitely in their own pool. I have a character who I've been farming with for hours trying to get a masterwork staff schematic. I have tons of different t3 schematics at this point and masterworks haven't become any more common.

Hm, either the The Still Temple in the western approach doesn't have all T3 schematics, or T3 Schematics don't share a pool either. I am getting a schematic drop every 15-20 chest openings now, and not a hint of Seer's Staff schematic while seeing other schematic weapons with much more notable regularity until picked up.

Also, 90%+ of the Masterwork schematics were dagger items. FFS. I saw 1 staff part, 1 heavy armor, and 1handed sword, with 10+ dagger masterworks. RNGesus plz

Don't do the Still Temple, it's mostly t2 with very rare t3. Go to Cradle of Sulevin, it's all t3 and you'll make a fortune from the weapons and armor.

From what I've read, the Still Temple drops are dictated by what level you are when you first enter it.

I'm pretty convinced this has less to do with RNG and more to do with how BW have decided to do the distribution of the various items in the game. Simply put, there are less 1H weapons in the game: less schematics, less chances of them dropping, less unique weapons. Everyone is reporting this, and I spent the better part of an evening grinding out for the one, single T3 1H sword schematic in the game. You can imagine my reaction when I realized that the T3 1H axe schematic was better in every way.

Tl;dr Bioware has conspired to make some items more prevalent in the game.

By farming, are we talking leaving 1 item in a chest and zoning out and back in? Is there a way to farm by killing stuff?

Yes, they talk about that abuse.

I didn't do it, solved all possible quests and sidequests before finishing the game, looted all chests (completely, not by leaving anything) and I never found all possible schematics nor had an option to buy them somewhere at the end.

This means that sadly the loot is not handplaced but is spawned randomly at least in most containers and on most of mobs you kill.

Which means, in order to get the exact something you want, you have to exploit the system.

IMO - a design fail.

Btw, don't exploit this thing in forbidden oasis shards tomb if you want permaresistances. Well... At least till someone says if they spawn some unique stuff not possible to get anywhere else.

To get permabonuses there you *must* loot all items from those sarcophagi.
