Yes, i play Katari, i am 145 prestige, have a lvl 23 weapon, enchanted armor/weapon and 2 lvl 20 purple rings. In the last 6 pugs in bronze i always was the first in points. Waiting people, let tank pull or waiting shield... etc.

The surprise was when i go at lvl 17 to silver and surprise. I was kicked this night. And no one time, four. In groups with tanks, healers... etc. (Was compensate groups with one of the 3 classes each).

So nice, only legionary, elementalist and arcane warrior can play? Katari isnt the best class in the game but can perfectly play in Silver mode. Stop kicking people for his class, give one chance and if you see he cant stand then vote kick...

Thanks and sorry for my english.

Pugs are going to kick based on how well they do with the class.  If they cant figure it out, then in their eyes the class must be terribad and deserves to be insta-kicked.

Unfortunately its unlikely any of those who would kick a someone for being a specific class will see this message.

Sorry to hear this dude, these experiences can really sour a player perception of a community. I've ran into a couple of jerks too so I know how you feel.

Not all players behave like this however and Kataris are awesome. Imho they have such a satisfying and unique play style that it won't be mastered by everyone.

Keep at it and represent!

Thanks for reply guys. The problem is if is hard find a game for the "you lost connection with the game" and when you find it you are kicked only for dont be a "famous class" is really frustrant. I understand in gold maybe but in bronze?

Maybe if Bioware implement the chance to inspect the gear from the people or see the prestige this can change...

Those guys probably just didn't understand the Awesomeness that is the Katari. I did a number of Pugs last night on my lvl 17. He's wearing upgraded Deathbringer hides, using a grey-quality weapon that still does like 150+ damage and 170+ DPS, no rings or accessories. And I was still on top with how well I know the class. We got a rofl-stop team together of Keeper, Me (Katari), Elementalist, Alchemist. And on threatening, we cleared every enemy type 100%, even the demon commander 2 times.

It's all about people, if they can't handle a class, they assume no one else can.

People are stupid. Your Katari should eat them.

Katari is alright when he has a Keeper or Elementalist to babysit him the entire match.

Charging bull straight to the threat, gaining guard as you plow mobs over and Mighty blow guaranteed at least 1k+ Damage and a lot of dead enemies.

Earthquake on any remaining. Larger packs make sure to use the guard generation buff once your guard goes low.

Block and Slash is pretty bad as you still take damage even on a well timed parry

In my experience, many people who play as the Katari like to charge ahead of the team and get killed. Although I don't personally kick based on character class, I can understand why some people would be wary of the Katari, especially on higher difficulty settings. Being able to see someone's gear won't necessarily rectify this bias. A person scarred by the foolishness of inexperienced players may look at the high grade equipment as a false security blanket that encourages the Katari user to be even more reckless. The best way to eliminate the bias is to flood the game with more experienced and successful players.

If they sucked and there was a Katari on their team, it was the Katari's fault, and every Katari's fault everywhere

Welcome to pugs

I personally don't like katari but I've never kicked anyone JUST because of that.  As you said, you got kicked 4 times, making it 12 people trying to kick you.  You really should find your own problem.

How long do you wait between games, for example?

Yeah, I know. I played a few games with Penguin's Katari today and as long as I followed him around with my ele and kept giving him barriers he was doing really well. Once he didn't have a barrier, he started getting two-shot killed by enemy archers.

I believe that above Routine, the Katari needs barrier to work well (unless you have some crazy lifedrain equipment). Same goes for most Reavers to be honest.

Since I don't like katari, I don't remember if he has war horn.  But reaver does.  A well timed rampage-warhorn-dragonrageragerage... combo could take out a horde of enemies instantly.

Of cause, it's harder than it sounds...

He does and Penguin used it. He's still squishy as hell once the archers start targeting him.

You guys are saying...

-if I follow behind the katari and babysit him with barriers he does ok.

I say...

-If you follow behind any other class and babysit them with barriers, they'll do better.

Katari is the worst class in the game. You may not like it, but it's true.

Pretending like your class isn't worthless is only going to hurt you. If you actually like katari for some absurd reason, then accept the fact that they suck and ask bioware to buff them. They deserve it.

Also, the damage numbers and routine/threatening bragging in this thread is borderline depressing. Assassins do over 5k EVERY twin fangs, with grey weapons. Reavers can spam 2k attacks. Archers/hunters do 6k full draws and 2k long shots. Legionairre does 1.5k payback strikes with infinitely better tanking ability.
you don't even want to know what mage classes can do.

And these classes can actually participate in perilous without being a liability to their team.

Even a perfectly geared katari cannot even come close.

I don't kick anyone unless they're trying to leech, like <lvl 8 in threat or <lvl16 in perilous, but katari is pretty worthless beyond routine so I can't REALLY blame them.

Would've saved you alot more time if you said "As an experienced player, I have to say Katari sucks.".

OT: I'm not surprised you were kicked. I could give you a long breakdown but it's really not necessary. The Katari is more "Geth Infiltrator/No Fit Kit/No Cyclonic mods on Platinum" than he is Geth Juggernaught. What I want to know is why the made the "biggest" guy in the game such a pansy. I tested him out for 2 days on Threatening. I mixed up all kinds of skills and my loadout is great. Soooo yeah. First ever RPG prostitute class... always on it knees.

Bioware buff pls

Yeah, me too.

Which is really really broken, the kick that follows more often than not fail to hit its target, and it puts you in a very awkward defenseless animation.

If a mob is running in one direction while you hook him, you can be certain that he will continue the run and get out of range for your secondary kick, if it even triggers.

Not even going into the problems I have with collision on that thing.. or the range.

I feel whenever there is an object edge in between it's going to be wonky.

Can confirm that i needed babysitting yesterday. Melee units are fine, its the ranged units that just destroy you. I walked over a fire mine yesterday and 1/2 of my health was lost immediately. The remaining 1/4 emptied due to the dot. Ive been 2 shotted by archers on threatening. This class is really fun but it's not even close to being the tank that it is supposed to be.

Ive also been voted to be kicked for using him and rightly so. He is a complete liability.
