Oh wow, you can clear threatening? In a 4 man group?

Yup it's official, katari is the strongest class in the game.

/sarcasm off

I have 6 characters that can SOLO threatening, and another 2 that I feel like could but I've never tried.
As far as I know, that's never been done with a katari.

Unless you can do that, color me unimpressed.

Don't want to impress you. This game is designed to play by 4 people and not solo, so your argument is totally pointless. Katari is way better at threatening level than alchemist, assassin, legionaire, templar and even hunter. Keeper is also not so useful at silver but it has it's perks. Much better at perilous.

Okay, as a new Katari only level or so, how DO you play it well? Because as of now it just feels like I get two shot by archers and have less health than a mage. It feels like if I do not have a barrier up, I get insta killed. But don't get me wrong, I feel like his damage is VERY good, but his survivability sucks.

Lets say there one of those large groups of Red Templars. A templar knight, a horror, a couple swords and half a dozen archers. What do you do if you are the first to engage? I don't know.

Troll confirmed.

No one whose spent any time at all playing this game would actually believe that.

Let tank or other player pull. Then charge, you will knockback them. Attack with the skill that do more damage to uncapacited enemies. If later they are alive (your group have a dps problem then) use horn and fear the rest of mobs. And finish them.

The problem is Katari seems a tank but isnt. If you charge alone and the rest of party dont follow you atm you will die, except if you have barrier and life/kill items.

How dense can you be?  How is his argument pointless when talking about classes that can solo the very same content your 4man does?  If said classes can easily solo threatening content, how much faster would they do it with 3 other people?  People like you should just be quiet.  Always spewing wrong information and then trying to defend it without any sense.

The Katari might be the squishiest and least useful teammate to have around, but at least his character is somewhat cool/acceptable. He can sit at Skyhold at least not looking like a fool. Unlike the Necromancer, who looks silly as hell. Is she like the fifth lost Teletubby or something? Either that or I imagine she's their Brood Mother or something like that.

These kinds of Insta kicks were partly solved in Mass Effect 3 by being able to see what Equipment and Weapons a player had equipped. Along with Number of Promotes, Achievement Score, and N7/Prestige score.

We don't even get to see the 4 slotted Active Skills.

Anyone with actual game knowledge who's worth playing with would be able to glance at all of that (Equipment & Potions, Active Skills, Promotes, Achievement, Prestige Score) and make a fairly good judgement if someone knows what their doing with a class.

PUGs who have all that info and kick anyways wouldn't have likely been worth playing with.

Bioware seems to have lost this understanding that More Information = Better. Its evident throughout the UI, Lots of hidden mechanics that don't get screen space. Even basic things like ABILITY SCORES.

I'm beginning to wonder what is actually tough a video game development schools, cause there has been this rash of under informed, ugly, and borderline useless UIs coming through games in general of late.

I would also like to see these pro Kataris that don't lose any HP throughout a game. Not to say it isn't possible. I like playing the katari, its just really really really hard because you have to play as if you are made of wet tissue paper. Like, on Threatening I can take 2 sword swings and I am dead. Or two arrows and I am totally dead. A mage or an archer can take more damage than that. His health HAS to be bugged or something, it is ridiculous. His health stat on character select is the exact same as Reaver, and I KNOW my Reaver can take more than a couple arrows before dying AND Katari has more armor than my Reaver. What the **** game?
