Just a question for you

Don't you think it would be better if these abilities would work better as "toggle" instead of "keep pressed"?

Maybe? They're an attack skill, the base attack doesn't even work that way in this game. Doesn't really bug me, honestly. One of the main reasons is you often need to reposition, move things around and all that and just letting go of a button is quicker then repressing one or trying to force your character to stop doing what there doing by moving (that's been finicky in the past).

I'd say yes in so far as basic attack should have an auto-attack (true auto-attack) option available but.. with the way the game works at base I don't see it being remotely necessary or 'working better'. It would just be 'different'.

In tactical view, how do you command them to keep using these abilities? Even when I have them as the only "preferred" ability, and tell them in tactical view to do it, it seems they'll often do it once and then revert to basic attacks, it's frustrating.

There is no way and that's the 1 change I think they definitely need to make. If nothing else they should complete a full attack chain with either (3 hits). Kinda weird they just do it 'once' and nothing else.

I think it would be better if they were toggle-able. Could set them to if toggled on, they become your primary attack. Scripting wise, it shouldn't be too tricky. Honestly, I would in-fact prefer it if it had the type of toggle that was in dragon age 1 where it lowers your max magic gauge because that amount is reserved.
