I have seen Sera get a substantial amount of hate. I just want to know why you hate her. Personally, I love her. She's crazy. I like crazy.
Because she tries to be funny, and fails miserably.

Based on your post, I figured we were in for a lecture, I even got my notebook and pen so I could take notes in case there was a quiz after.
*Best Drusilla Voice: This is sooooo disappointing.
I accept your concession. ![]()
@Fardreamer, Ouch! lol!!
A recounting of your own personal history of unfortunate relationship conflicts followed by an accusation of bitterness on LobselVith8's behalf? Where exactly does he evidence that he is bitter over anything?
How does wanting people to be open-minded or at least tolerant of another person's point of view make them a bitter person?
Because she acts like that weird part of the internet that some people strive to avoid. I don't mind her, maybe she's a little too random for some people.
This is exactly how I described her to myself! The way she talks, what she cares about and her logic made me think that she is the self-righteous part of the internet.
Personally, I understood what she said and I liked her as a character. I disagreed with her on significant issues but the fact that she never wavered from her beliefs is something to be respected. I'm not one who wants a bunch of agreeable party members, Sera is a nice change of pace.
To be honest the song sums it up listen Sera sometimes sung by the bard.
Really all you need to do is just scroll back up the page where you found this quote. Alternatively, you could search a few of the posts over the last few pages to see how bitter he is about Sera deciding she can't even be friends with a Dalish Inquisitor that decides to go all in on the Creators. Hence the explanation, for the second time, something you'd know if you started reading prior to the last page, of an example from my own life of the exact same thing. Religion can be a major divider between people, since more blood has been spilled in the name of God, pick one, doesn't matter which, than for any other reason.
Robert, you seem to have a rather nasty habit of putting forth your assumptions as facts; you might want to do something about that, particularly when you're pretending to know what a real person is thinking. You don't know me. Don't pretend as though you do.
You also seem to need a refresher on what I actually said. I said before I find it rather disgusting that Sera breaks up with the elven Inquisitor for saying that she believes in the elven gods, after the two of them have been together for quite some time, near the end of the story.

its a shame you won't see this because you blocked me

It kind of hurt me that I liked that but it was true.
What would BSN be if pots didn't accuse kettles of being black?

I actually have been reading the thread, your assumptions aside. My disagreement with your definition of evidence of a stranger's feelings and personal history does not mean I wasn't paying attention. So I still fail to see how you telling us reasons for you being bitter about that past jives with such an accusation. Perhaps I am stupid. I wouldn't know. I'm biased in terms of myself.
It just does not make sense to me to reject someone so fully without trying to reach an understanding. And how do you know he doesn't have the strength to end a relationship with someone he disagrees? Isn't it harder to make things work? Come to an understanding and still be friends? Not ostracize an entire world view and potentially cause blood-shed? Hold on, that's nations. Back up.
Why even have conversations with people you disagree with if it is better to not try to get them to acknowledge your perspective amicably? Why are you even on the forum if by being the stronger person means not engaging?
Hawke was clearly Andrastian despite my attempts to be indifferent. And Merrill was very much Elven Gods-ist. And somehow they were able to be together. Why can't Sera? Because she is ridiculously close-minded. Which. Is. Ugly.
You don't have to be a bitter person to know that. The acknowledgment that many of Sera's behaviors are inappropriate does not require any anger. It just requires an understanding of what is appropriate

Sane.
Sane.
something we cannot allow to happen

If he didn't make transphobic and homophobic comments about other posters, I might find his posts worth responding to.
Sera seems to be a bit of a sociopath to me, she cares only for herself, damn the world and I can't stand that attitude. To here, you're a little person or a baddie no way a noble or anyone with power can be good. I refuse to even have her in my game.
She is a shameless copy of NWN 2's Neeshka, but in contrast to the elf Sera, Neeshka is partly a demon, therefore the freaky, goblin-like behavior suits much better.
But Sera is the only char in Inquisition, who makes me laugh, therefore I like her.
I see some similarity there, but I found Neeshka to be more likeable somehow. And that's interesting, because Sera actually sought to do good, whereas Neeshka was kinda all about getting by and stealing some stuff along the way. I didn't hate Sera, but I didn't particularly like her either. But Seras attitude towards elfs, and her knee-jerk judgments of people, combined with her closed mindedness and dismissal of learning anything new, just made her seem more shallow, somehow, despite her quirky dialogue.

Oh wow. I thought you'd ignored me too!

I'm still waiting for you to give me direct quotes where I personally made these comments, and not just people in the same group as me
but I get it, its easier to just make up lies and to try and discredit what I say
I love Sera...I would love her more if she would prank Vivienne non stop! Oh and Sera and Bull have the best conversations when you are out running around...much better than anyone else.

But if that was true, she'd never consider a Trevelyan Inquisitor good.

*shudder*
The level of hate and vitriol is astounding but not unexpected. Also. A quick musing: would the backlash be so strong were Sera a man? Was there this much backlash against (a similar challenging character) Javick?
Part of me suspects that things might be different if Sera were a male character, but it's hard to tell, because I can't recall a character that required as much effort to work around as she does. I never really considered Javik to be a real challenge, but then, I didn't consider any of the characters to be that challenging. The only ones that really tested my patience a little bit were Jack and the VS.

Um...no? Javik actually debates with Shepard even when he thinks Shep's taking risky options. Yeah he'll go I wouldn't have done it and you'll probably get betrayed but ultimately it's an actual discussion. Javik also has seen his entire race crumble to dust making him far more sympathetic and has a very fish out of water syndrome. Then of course is Javik is a very ends justify the means type of character. Probably the exact type Sera would loathe.
Not to mention you can soften Javik quite a bit if Paragon.
Javik might have been more challenging if Mass Effect implemented the approval system, where he might have harsher opinions based on your decisions.

Maybe but you can still sort of soften him to the point where he'll write a book with Liara. So even with approval it'd probably still work. It'd just need to be a friendship/rivalry system like DA2.
