Congrats to Lukas (it was Lukas who wrote her, ya?), people seem to have strong opinions on the character. With some defending, and others attacking.
Yep, Lukas.

Did you support the mages as full allies? Cause that's probably the problem seeing as how she disapproves of the same decision on the Templar side.
Yes, I accepted the mages as full allies. She (and about half the rest of the party) disapproved. But I didn't have any difficulties with her. I can only assume that the people who think she's completely intolerant lashed out at her in response to her comments. She has quite interesting banters with Dorian on the subject of magic and seems to get along fine with Vivienne as well. Leastwise, I never heard her say anything vicious about either of them.
I can't imagine she gets on very well with Solas, but I haven't really tried that combination out.
I assume it's becasue she is into girls in where the hate is from, otherwise her character is pretty much typical of her being a robin hood like character.
That's is not even close to the real reasons why so many people hate her.

Lol did you even read the thread?
Nobody mentioned her sexuality at all.
i remember my first run through i just did everything sera disapproved of, it felt like i was playing minesweeper with the dialogue i had with her and kept landing on a mine everytime.
she was just completely erratic, didn't let me finish my sentence before she killed someone, hated my elf for being too elfy or whatever. I dont know that just left a bad taste in my mouth for her.
but then i did another playthrough as a different kind of character and we ended up being friends, turns out she just wants a family or whatever and loves to gossip. i literally view her as the bratty teenager of the inquisition that i have to try extra hard with to get on her good side lol
her party banter with iron bull and blackwall is funny at least
Sera retards the situation at hand. If the world was comprised of people who thought like Sera, it would be a hopeless and petty world destined to self implode from greed and ignorance. I say this with no sense of exaggeration.
Well, at least people would be honest and there would be no deceit in the world if more people were like Sera.
Although, people would likely wake up with random tattoos, their breeches missing, and probably have a pie thrown at their face when they start their day.
Hmmm... I think Thedas needs more people like Sera.
There's a lot of types that the world would be better off not having its population be comprised of it, possibly myself included. Too lazy to maintain infrastructure or get into politics. We'd all be savages for sure.
I just found another reason to dislike her. After the temple of Mythal, I talked to her, and she was just "elvish gods are demons, only the Creator", blah blah blah. Even Cassandra who is a pure Creator believer and doesn't really like elvish religion hasn't said me something so intolerant.

I love her.
For starters', she cracks me up pretty hard with the things that she says, not to mention the little berserk moment she had with the noble. Her immaturity is what makes her funny.
Her views are great too. She is atheistic, stands up for the "little people" in an altruistic way, yet supports harsh/barbaric punishments. You cannot go wrong, she's perfect.

Ya, like the Dalish and Qunari (followers of the dalish ways and the Qun, not elves and qunari). ![]()

She's open about her thoughts and opinions. I find that a good thing. Cassandra is just more intelligent and has more experience with mysteries and magic.

I don't hate Sera. (I don't love her either - I appreciate her, occasionally, and find her to be an acquired taste.)
But she is no Robin Hood. This was my disappointment with her at first. I like the ADHD speech. I like the rugged looks. I like the adorable leggings. I like the "F the nobles" attitude and I'm fine with her giving elfy things what-have-you (since the Dalish are such butts to the City Elves anyway; why try to follow old ways when they're most represented by those stuffy sods*?). But I wanted Robin Hood.
Sera doesn't really help the poor at all. In fact, in many situations, she hinders them as much as - or more than - the Lords. She also wants things for herself. Like if it is "pass the hat," Sera, and we're a big damn powerful Inquisition, shouldn't we just give the money back? Robin Hood would've given the money back. Sera never wants to give the poor anything if it's not fun for her. She isn't fighting in any meaningful way for the betterment of anyone or any kind of real freedom. And that's fine - but she's no Robin Hood, and that's kind of what I was expecting and disappointed in.personally. After some time, I can accept Sera as she is and enjoy her, but that was my initial disappointment.
Robin Hood had a true cause and real honor. He was a scoundrel, but the best kind. Sera is loyal to her friends and all (well, in the ways that count), but that's not the same thing.
Hell, Blackwall is closer to Robin Hood than her, in my book. But he's too broody and not a rogue. And obviously got to that place a different way.
*I like the Dalish more than this implies, for the record - just see her POV and personally prefer City Elves.
I love her.

Sera is actually Andrastian
She's like the Jar Jar Binks of Dragon Age. Yeah right, just shoot this ****** in the face, yeah? So what, Plflflflflfl.
Hilarious.....
....
....
Viviene is an utter ****** but at least she has purpose and a personality. Sera...... like a blunt pencil.....Pointless.
Oh yeah, no breeches!!!!..... Great.
I love her.

She's Andrastian in my playthrough (not super devout or very knowledgable, but certainly interested in it and talks down about all other faiths but Andrastianism). Asks my Inquisitor if Andraste is around without outright dismissing the idea of her still being around and even asks if it was "Him" that helped (Him being the Maker) and saying something about it makes sense or that my Inquisitor would know when my Inquisitor replies in the positive.
Geez, it seemed everyone but Solas and Iron Bull in my playthrough was Andrastian.
I'm still mad someone even tried to compare her to Isabela.
I know right? Sera is way to awesome to be compared to stupid Isabela.

She skips the nuance between "spirit" and "demon", but then so does nearly everyone. Including most mages. You obviously didn't listen to her argument, which is that the elvish gods can't be divine beings worthy of worship unless the Maker is hogwash. There's nothing at the Temple of Mythal or in the encounter with Flemeth that provides any evidence that "Mythal" is different in kind from the spirit that possessed Wynne. Or Justice. Or the Demons that possess people.
Yes, she calls the elvish gods "Demons". But the main thing that distinguishes demons from spirits according to most people is that demons possess people and spirits don't. Mythal clearly does possess people. Whether she's a malevolent entity or not is beside the point.

Funny, I find Cassandra an honest person yet she's rarely recognized by people. While I find Sera a hypocritical person and her cause "fighting for the little people" seems hollow to me when she didn't even bother trying to stop the poor servant guy from getting killed by Harmond's mercenaries, and she shows zero empathy toward his death. She also stated a couple times that "need things back to normal so coins can be flowing again" and "stopping war should earn more sovereign than this", and even her profile stated "the world has to be normal so she can play" She is NOT out to make the world better for the little people.
Thanks, but I'll pass. The last thing Thedas needs is the world run by anarchist, complete lunatic, utter moron who wants to turn the world into their personal glorified playground where they can prank, torture and kill people they decide deserve.
I have seen Sera get a substantial amount of hate. I just want to know why you hate her. Personally, I love her. She's crazy. I like crazy.
I think because she's hippocritical and difficult to get along with. Although, I've found that just completing her side quests and joking with her a bit warms her up pretty quick. I don't mind her much at all.
Vivienne, though.... she's impossible. I'm rolling as a anti-circle, anti-chantry mage and we are not BFFs lol
I know right? Sera is way to awesome to be compared to stupid Isabela.
Both are awesome. There shouldn't have been any comparison in first place.
Having a grown up act like a 9 year old spoiled brat can get on one's nerves.

To me? She's narrow-minded, arrogant, cruel in her arrogance, and unforgivably vulgar and crass. She actually makes Isabela seem a very classy person in comparison.
Lots of people seem to love these traits though, so I can understand why Sera has staunch fans, I'm just never going to be one of them.

Hilariously, I have to agree with this.
People who hate Sera just dont understand her (or dont want to understand because of her looks). I love her. The most interesting character IN DAI.
