Yes, it is really irritating when people throw "temper tantrums" over other people murdering innocents. I really wish they'd just shut up and mind their place instead of getting all uppity.
Why do a lot of people hate Sera?

Still a baby. And she doesn't approve at all if I take her along during In Your Heart Shall Burn and rescue all the people. Even that b**** Vivienne approves
And as I mentioned earlier, I'm a "scawy mage" even if I help people. Or a "chavlier".

But you gotta admit that "Chav-lier" is such an appropriate term, it's downright spooky.

I thought she was kind of a baby when she threw that temper tantrum with Pel Harmon. Kind of wished she'd do that against me if I pissed her off enough so I could break her neck or something.
You need to take a chill pill then.
I can't really fault her to much on this since he just killed her contacts. He basically killed innocent people over land claims and then killed her contacts for trying to get help. He's an unrepentant a hole. As Sera said, "Well that should be it then." I get irritated at some of her other temper tantrums, but not that one.
Also, to her credit, if you have a nobility perk you can force him into the inquisition and take his lands and Sera approves of it. She just wants justice for the innocents killed.

I always use the nobility perk. I saw videos where she grows impatient and throws a temper tantrum. Even if I didn't use the nobility perk, she. what, throws a temper tantrum after 3 questions or so? I was in control and she wouldn't know what I was going to do with him. Plus, maybe I'm wrong but life isn't black and white. The whole " all nobles suck" is a little childish.

That whole quest was an interesting little subversion of game mechanics. Normally you don't expect a conversation to end while you are in the middle of the investigation options.

We need more of this. Rewards (oh hi Solas approval), and punishments, and both, for Investigating. And I say this as someone who will hate it at the time because I ASK EVERYTHING.

Ah, this thread.... well a lot of people hate Sera because she has rather high emotional intelligence and intuition (well, er, you know a fictional character and all), which puts people off I suspect.
Added to that she is frequently very chaotic and unfocused in perhaps putting those insights into a more concrete plan of action, so that leaves people endlessly fraustrated.
It's kind of like the equivalent of someone who will immediately and precisely tell you exactly what a problem is and can clarify the details of that problem endlessly, but can't actually help you solve the problem. I think those people tend to raise ire because it sort of feels like, well why tell me if you don't know how to fix it?
Sera has rather high emotional intelligence? What? I don't think so. I think she is rather stupid and that's why she is so annoying, chaotic and unfocused.

I don't think you are grasping what Emotional Intelligence means. The poster was not talking about how smart she is, they were talking about her ability to feel emotions stronger than others and react accordingly.

This link explains it better:
If emotional intelligence (EQ) is defined as "the ability to identify, use, understand, and manage emotions in positive ways to relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges, and defuse conflict. Emotional intelligence impacts many different aspects of your daily life, such as the way you behave and the way you interact with others", then that it is antithesis of what Sera is.

Yeah, you are probably right...
I was just pointing out the difference between emotional intelligence and actual intelligence. Sorry if I came off as kind of a know-it-all.

Not at all. At least to me, your post didn't come out as a know-it-all. By the contrary, it made curious enough to go and look again for the EQ definition (just to make sure) and that's something good. I think it was my mistake when using the word "stupid" associated it with the lack of Sara's EQ.

I don't think Sera has EQ but that doesn't mean she is stupid. I think some people think she is stupid because of the way she speaks. But I noticed that once you get past her strange speech pattern and use of British colloquialisms, you begin to notice that she is actually quite intuitive and smarter than we give her credit for.

Well, in this particular instance, it's not so much an "all nobles suck" thing as much as it's a "this particular noble sucks". After all, he did have someone executed right in front of them, along with a few others, over a simple issue of him getting a snag in his quest to add to his fortune because his use of refugees as land acquisition fodder earned him the ire of the peasantry. It's why I remain sort of half and half on either forcibly taking his assets and simply allowing him to get turned into wine.

I almost always tell Sera to kill that noble, he kind of deserves it. And if we let him go, he would probably continue to make life **** for commoners. I was more shocked at how she killed him than questioning whether it was right or not.

I was mostly surprised at the way the dagger was used, or rather not used. I was so used to having PC's and companions alike toss daggers into NPC's chests with super accuracy. Either way it would've been a slow and painful death so I can't say I was fazed either way.

I thought that was weird at first too. Then I got to thinking and I have this theory: I think that she was throwing the weapon badly on purpose, like she was giving him a weapon so she wasn't killing an unarmed man.

Maybe, but the first time I saw it I thought it was a reference to a banter in da:2 between either qunari spy elf or Isabella and Merrill. Where Merrill asks how they could throw a knife at someone without bonking them on the nose. She responds that that actually happens a lot and when it does they try to pretend that they did it on purpose.

I usually use the nobility perk as well, except with my Dwarven Inquisitor. Then they just let her jelly that guys head. I think she's the most foul mouthed companion yet. Could give Zaeed a run for his money.
I'm hoping the knife was a distraction. However, I do remember Tallis little talk during DAII about throwing knives...and acting like that's how it was SUPPOSED to happen.

If you really think that there was nothing more to that scene then "a temper tantrum" then you haven't given it enough thought.

Sera doesn't hate all nobles on principle, the same way she doesn't hate mages on principle. She just hates arrogant a**holes and magic itself scares her. Case in point: Dorian, a mage noble from Tevinter. Sera likes him because he's not an a**hole. By contrast, she hates Viviene, who can be quite a b*tch.

Case in point, she likes Josie who is a noble and she was raised by a noble. She doesn't like nobles who abuse their power.
However, it seems she has more of elf issues then noble issues judging by how she disapproves of an elf quizz saying they will stand up for elves but approves of dwarf quizze who say they will stand up for dwarfs. Also, she can get pretty nasty to an elf who wants to be elfy and thinks elves should just give up their culture and become human-y. Sera has a lot of issues but it seems she has more problems with elves then nobles in some regards.
