Vivienne as a Knight Enchanter makes this entire game a joke. Do not get me wrong I love this game with a passion, but the specialization is way overpowered. At level 18 I was able to bring down the Highland Ravager with my entire team dead before the dragon was even at 90% health. Simply spamming spirit blade and using my 2 second immunity for the ring of fire allowed me enough shield to never die. When he got to half health I would wait to be stunned and go immune. Then simply using spirit sword to hit both the dragon and the baby dragons was enough to survive it all. Doesn't help that when he put up his barrier I would hit like a truck so my barrier never faded. Lastly deflecting fire blasts when he flew away was nothing more than a homerun every time.

Tldr: Knight Enchanter needs to be fixed. It is too strong to simply take down a dragon that out levels you in a solo fight.

*sigh*

So because you played a pure KE to the absolute min/max, it should be 'fixed'? Seriously, what is it with all these people who go out of their way to push a class to its limits then come back and demand that it get changed for everyone else? Why do you think everyone else cares that you found it overpowered?

This is a game that should rely at least a slight bit more on team strategy, therefore one character to solo a beast that should require 1) higher level players and 2) teamwork, was easily defeated by a single player.

It is suggested alone to have a team of level 22 to step up to the Highland Ravager in the official guide to simply not be utterly destroyed.

Sad enough to say that you are such a child to reply in such a manner. There was no "pushing to the limits" whatsoever. Not like I maxed out my character in the best gear or anything. I went being under level and under geared in every which way and form. By the way JaegarBane you need some definite personality work. Put in some time to love yourself and stop trying to hate on other people. Do no hate the player hate the game bro.

My DW rogue killed a high dragon in 12 seconds flat. On nightmare.

My Mage killed a High Dragon in 15 seconds flat. On nightmare.

My Archer killed a High Dragon in 15 seconds flat. On Nightmare.

My 2h warrior killed a High Dragon in 20 seconds flat. On nightmare.

My tanks never take more than 1 damage, and this starts from level 8. On Nightmare.

And you complain KE is broken? .......

Given this is all due to team synergy -- it's still far more broken than a mediocre dps Knght Enchanter soloing. They are like Arcane Warriors. Arcane Wariors were popular. Hence they are what they are.

How do you get your tanks to not take more than 1 damage @ level 8 on nightmare?
Did you buy tier 2 schematics in Val Royeaux or something?

I'm level 9 on Cass/Blackwall and my best gear combined is:

Vanguard Armor: 119 Armor +13% Melee def +7% Ranged def

Warden Helmet: 21 Armor +6% Melee def

For Shield i got Schaefer's Rampart (12 Armor +3% Melee def) or Orlesian Lion Shield (15 Armor).

I got Turn the Blade + Bolt, Bear Mauls, Trust the Steel passives

Total 29 Melee def, 7 Ranged def, 140 Armor (152 Front)

Now I could craft a shield with 24 Armor +11% Magic def +3% Melee def, but does that make a big difference?

I have to say I think my biggest disappointment in DA:I is just how unbalanced/easy the combat becomes.  I am on my third start because my first character was a KE and it made everything ridiculous, so I started a rogue, and made it a bow wielding assassin and that became idiotically easy, so now I'm trying a 2h warrior that I will specialize as a reaver.  Hopefully there is still some challenge after level 12ish.

Needs to be a serious look at balancing some of these skills.  I'm playing on nightmare for a challenge and I keep ending up OP without even trying.  It wouldn't be such a big deal if the game was moddable like Skyrim was... after all Skyrim was seriously imbalanced in an epic way when it was released.  But since it seems this game will not be moddable then it falls to the dev team to look at this stuff imo.

Well, they could either fix the skills and the OP combinations, or just code the enemy AI to use the same tactics and combos.. actually I would perfer the second option. :)

Oh sweet Lordy, the irony, being told that I'm a child and I need to fix my personality by a guy who expects a dev team to take his recommendation first and screw what everyone else thinks. Practice what you preach. Bioware games have never been particularly well balanced and the problem with what you're suggesting is that it assumes everyone uses a KE as a pure melee character. The problem with asking the devs to 'fix' this is that everyone gets this 'fix' regardless of what they think. There's a lot of things in this game that allow one to ace the hardest targets and it's more to do with the overall design than any specific class or spec.

As for 'pushing the limit', what you've described is only possible by intentionally playing the character in the most optimal way. You weren't, for instance, playing it as a hybrid or only focusing on part of the tree. There are definitely OP elements to the KE but the class itself isn't so OP that you can solo an overlevelled dragon just by picking any passive. There's one very specific passive that causes what you described.

Tl;DR - taking down an overlevelled dragon can be done in a number of ways, you're not going to fix that by fiddling with one spec

Granted I am level 11, the gear is level 8 (and was collected at level 9). While the video is post-skyhold, I did this recently pre-skyhold. As long as the shield is facing the enemy and you got 140+ armor, with 10+% melee defense, and the passives: The tank does not die.
