I don't know what everyone's been hating about it, I think it's interesting, fun, and a nice break from just button mashing.  And I just met an old friend (from my past Origins life I guess)

My only real problem so far is that I get hurt when I jump, but I can't use health potions.  Wonder what happens when I die then?  Will that ****** off the court of fools?

Update: That was a blast!  100% court approval, impressed the court…since I consider the rest as spoiler and judgment, I'll put it in that ongoing thread.

But I thought it was pure fun, though I have no clue where any halla statues are.

Press v and follow the "tingling" and you'll find the halla. Some are in plain sight and some are hidden. One is even on the beams  of the ceiling inside the servants quarter...

The palace game has a timer, a counter, and I feel really stressed when it comes to "countered" quests. Same with the templars. I wish they gave us an ability to disable this timer on casual difficulty.

I liked it, and it only went fast during the climb the lattice searches.  Just give it 45-60 seconds each search, though it took me more than I needed, then go back to the crowds.  That's how I got hurt, I jumped the lattice each time to save a couple of seconds.

At least with the Templars you could go back and let the timer refill.

For the palace, I gamed the game :)
Save the game right before going "out of bounds." Search all you want, find the hidden goods and plan out how you want to run it on the timer. Reload the saved game, fly through the area like you know where everything is -- because you do -- and hop back down to the party before loosing 5 points of court approval.

Timer and approval refilled for me with mages every time...

I liked the idea of the quest but the execution felt a little "gamey" for lack of a better word. The timer in particular was more than a little immersion breaking. I understood why the mechanic was there, it just didn't feel at all natural.

This was actually my only complaint with this mission. Adding the timer took away one of the important elements of this game and that's exploration and taking your time. With the timer I felt rushed  and stressed out especially since I was trying to get 100 with a qunari that already lost a lot of points for just being what she was. It's the only main mission where I completed none of the side quests done.

I was surprised they made them so effing racist, but I suppose it would be that way in the real world.  I'm Qun too, and it made me want to beat them all the more.  Loser racists, probably child molesters, too.

Actually the timer was kind of distracting and at one point I got lost in a courtyard or something and had to reload the game repeatedly to figure out where to go so that I would not run out of approval.  It didn't help that this area was absolutely packed with enemies... but aside from that, this was probably my favorite main quest in the game.

I actually didn't mind loosing those points at first and felt it was a nice touch . Still got 100 in the end, (96 technically since I figured I would have time to turn in some coins, but the game didn't let me)

I think this was the best part of the game and the (otherwise sloppy) story. Basically the only part when I felt that this is actually role playing game.

There were no choices for me to just opt out of this. IC I would rather have allowed them all to die.
