Now I am not saying that DA2 had bad sales but it was way cheaper to make then that game. I am wondering could EA have reached the conclusion that that the profit is too small and Bioware should focus on other projects that always bring profit no matter what?
DAI had the same sales as DA2 could this mean that this franchise in finished?

Where are these magical sales figures you are quoting? Pulled from out of the rubbish pile?

I never put anything past EA, no matter how brilliant or stupid it might seem.
Dragon Age Inquisition from what I've heard is selling quite well, but below expectations (no figures cited, just various commentary from people with sources around the interwebs).
It's still a franchise, and hopefully Inquisition has got Dragon Age back on the right path at least.

Possibly.
But what (limited) indications I've seen suggest that that isn't the case

That absolutely means nothing. Different kind of game for different strikes of folds.
Edit: Besides, need I remind you that this game is overpriced?

Might be better to link the article they're sourcing, rather than wikipedia. Wikipedia can be edited by anyone.

Also it's only the sales in the UK, and against that line up I'm not surprised at all. DAI came out during one hell of a week.

wikipedia its still mostly correct. Did DA2 not apeared during simillar circumstance?
Also GTAV appeared on the new consoles all over the world but why the got so many sales most people who had the previous console played it already. Does it have that good of a replay value?

Lawl. Grew up in the NES/SNES era. I remember paying $80 for tiny 8/16-bit games. $80 in the early 90's, so $100+ after inflation. Never ceases to make me laugh when people complain about the price of today's games. Especially massive ones like this that you can put 100 hours into a single playthrough. Nope, game's not overpriced.

I'm more saying it because people see a wikipedia link and it tends to come with an automatic bias against whatever is being said. Sorry, not trying to be combative. Should have phrased it better.
I'm trying to find sales data for that particular first month, it seems it was going up against Pokemon.

Indeed. I paid about a hundred bucks each for games like Tie Fighter and C&C. Pricing has been much the same.

No. That site is notorious for just making **** up.

It's mostly guess work, treat with caution. And it doesn't do online sales, so it's PC numbers in particular are liable to be nonsense

Also, people making these charts often forget to take in note the digital sales and only count the retail versions.

I think it's less that they forget, and more that they have no way of tracking.

Yeah... so saying that it sold less than DA2 is like asking people to find a needle in a pile of hay.

Different time, different economy.
You mean the economy where almost every other game from a major company costs the exact same price? No, I'm pretty sure people are just cheap and whiny.

Let's agree to disagree on this. Back then there was no recession.

In the UK, which I think is where the numbers the OP is talking about are from, that's not really true, at least on PC.
I mean, currently on Amazon
DAI is £47, Far Cry is £36.50, AssCreed is £34.50. Though you could get DAI for £40 on pre-order IIRC

I remember I think I paid around $70 for FF7 when it came out. When you were buying your SNES games I was begging them to be my Christmas and birthday presents combined

Someone showed me on this forum that digital sales are less then 10% of the sales so I do not think they matter that much. In my opinion 10% more sales is not that big a of a difference if the digital sales give such a increase. While the difference between DAO and DA2 in sales was of over 100% in DAO favor. Of course the data was still from VGcharts so take it with a big hand of salt.
