By my unprofessional, uneducated guesstimation DA:I has sold over 500 million copies!

That's my headcanon. :)

I think you have to factor in the fact that *many* people stopped believing as easily in Bioware's ability to create a decent, "complete" feeling game after DA2.  Personally, although I played DA2 enough to try to love it, I was very, very wary about getting DAI.  It was *only* the extra year they took for doing more work on it that made me give it a second/third chance.  DAO made me fall in love with the world, and the lore of DA.  I think they went into DAI release realizing that for past consumers, this could for many be somewhat of an uphill battle.  The game is fairly well rated, so as soon as purchase jitters are relieved by positive reviews somewhat, I hope sales will support the franchise.  They did a much nicer job of at the very least giving a world that felt more alive, and complete than DA2.  Hopefully the better product results in some renewed faith in the franchise long term.

If the sales in UK alone was as high as DA2 world wide I don't see the panic.

DA:2 sold better than DA:O in it's first week. So i will say no.

Exactly, DA2 had a great opening week, after which sales nose-dived.

It will be fine.

Yeah... so saying that it sold less than DA2 is like asking people to find a needle in a pile of hay.

At the very least, comparing VGC sales of DA2 to VGC sales of DA:I should be relatively indicative of something, since the same flaws and limitations apply to both number sets.

It won't be a 100% accurate number, but examining both sets of numbers should be predictive of if DA:I is selling less/more/the same as DA2, even if the numbers are wrong.

Yeah cause fans of the game expected what some people call DA:O 2 ... those people who bash the rest of us for still wanting the second iteration of what we loved which is beyond stupid

No one had expectations out of DA:O cause it was a new IP and many people bought it because critics and most importantly users praised it

However many are still disappointed with DA:I especially PC gamers ... i expect it to sell better than DA2 but i personally don't care anymore cause it isn't and will never be the game i used to like

This "noone expected something out of DA:O as it was a new IP" argument gets thrown around a lot and it is quite false in my opinion. Bioware had a great portfolio with a lot of classic RPG's and they just released Mass Effect two years prior. I waited several years in anticipation (heck it was announced in 04) and was moderately entertained by it but was kind of disappointing with their world building as it seemed fairly generic. DA:2 was worse in a lot of cases so my anticipation wasn't exactly racing when DA:I was announced.

Now DA:I does do some things right that the previous games didn't do, but the dilution of the franchise does not bode well for future Bioware games. Welcome to action RPG's.
