Future games I'd like to see someone akin to Ser Barris or the Antivan noble you duel for Josies affections. More MoC (for men and women both) personally.
Females wise just more species and feature diversity in general. More non humans (elves, qunari, dwarves) for both genders, different hair colors, etc..

What class did you romance him with? I've run his romance with all three classes and to me there's nothing special with being a mage. Yeah, you get some extra dialogue, but you also get extra dialogue as a warrior, especially if you spec into the templar line. I actually prefer to romance him as a warrior since it has an absolutely great dynamic.
I guess it's safe to say that my fav romance is Cullen, hands down. I love that it's simple...two people meeting and falling in love in the most unlikely of places. I found that rather refreshing. It has just enough cuteness, fluff, and angst...along with a bit of naughty hawtness.
I'm currently working on Blackwall and Iron Bull as well. I've seen them play out on youtube and they both look pretty solid.
I was a warrior/templar, as I said
- I liked the extra dialogue if you take the templar spec though, that was pretty cool.
but that extra dialogue was my favourite part of the romance, I didn't feel like his romance added much to his character arc - it was better paced without the romance.
I don't feel that romances should take too much away from the character's non-romance story though; like Jack in ME2, or what I hear about Josephine in DAI (why does her fiancée never come up unless you romance her?) but having the romance arc actively hurt the character arc is...not ideal.
Again; maybe his romance works better if you have him stop taking lyrium and support the mages (loosing out on the hunt for Samson quests takes away from Cullen's story, too) but i'm not willing to invest another playthrough in Cullen's romance when I still have so many characters left.

Depends on the person I guess but imo with Cullen it can be counterproductive to always pick the heart option, especially in the situations where you are dealing with serious matters. (in a way I like how his character skip this approval mechanic)

I think it mostly has to do with how you see him and how you roleplay it (and there is quite a wide range to deal with his situation, you can even tell him to "suck it up and deal with it" and he will be ok with that) Samson's quest, imo, works more in favour of Samson's character development than Cullen's, the only plus is that you get him to finally leave his desk for a bit. Even with playing as a mage vs playing as a soldier just creates a slightly different dynamic, same with siding with mages or templars.

Her fiance is a non-issue for the Inquisitor and the Inquisition if you aren't romancing her. It's an arranged marriage, it's typical, why should it come up? I mean, I suppose if you are friends with someone they would mention it but it has no real bearing on the story unless she's in a romantic relationship with you. I don't think not hearing about it takes anything away from her story, you already have a chance to help her with something personal and if she's not in a romance with you she may not want outside interference with her arranged marriage, she may even be resigned to it but it would be dishonorable to her to NOT tell you about it if you were in a romance.

One thing I really liked about Cullen's romance was all the hugs! The two times my character and him hugged were so very sweet and lovely to me. I would like more hugging and snuggling in future romances if possible.

I'd like a real female Elf romance for male protagonists (or both male and female protagonists), just give us someone better than Sera and Merrill. The one with Merrill just sucked. Maybe a Dwarven romance as well, since there haven't been any of those, could be for anyone though. Other than that, as long as they're interesting, I don't have any other ideas. I'd like a female mage romance for male protagonists too.

So Krem a woman who wants identifies as a man, who likes men / women or both? I didn't see any dialogue indicators. That would be an option I didn't see coming.

For Men, it's a toss up between Dorian and Cassandra. I find Cass perfectly navigates the badass softie, and Dorian is as smooth as silk. Both are fun in different but equally endearing ways.

Solas hands down.
I played through most of Blackwall's, and am currently trying Cullen's, and both are okay but a bit flat. Cullen is just Alistair 2.0. All that tongue tied awkwardness isn't cute anymore. Blackwall was very emotional but just... it didn't do much for me. Maybe it's playing a human. I don't like being the vanilla race. The game ends up seeming too boring.

Solas all the way here as well! To me, it's just the best written character and romance ever. It just felt so meaningful compared to other romances (which are cute in their way but the depth and complexity of Solas' romance made it so tragically beautiful for me). ![]()

Cassandra for the Bros and Solas for the Ladies(Cullen is great too). Im crossing fingers for a non human romance for males in DA4(femQuanari specifically). Im also pinning for Maevis to be a companion and a romance as well.

For Fem!Inquisitors, definitely Sera. I wasn't sure about her at fist, but she really grew on me. Her romance is funny but can be sweet as well. For Male!Inquisitor, Cassandra. She's very passionate and cares deeply. And she's adorable in her own way.

I've only done 2 so far. Iron Bull's was terrible. Cassandra's was the best one for straight males in DA so far but pretty average in overall Bioware romance terms.
I am currently doing Solas.
I am stupidly happy that they extended romances for straight females to Cullen and Solas. Otherwise, my choices would have been between Blandwall and the Iron Bore. (disgusted noise)

Word. I don't really have the desire to romance either of those guys. They just don't do it for me. At all.

it would be nice if we could have a polygamous relationship with 2 or more of the romance options (for instance the ability to form relationships with both Cullen and Dorian at the same time
So... you want to play as a hermaphrodite? I'm in favor of more CC options, but that might be a stretch.

I absolutely loved the Cullen romance, for me it was the best Bioware romance ever, in how it was so well written and rounded out. We got the hugs, the caring, the welcome back scenes and love scenes and the repeatable kiss scene, which I replayed a lot!
Oh and the final scene with him cuddling your inquisitor, to me that was just perfect!
If other games ended like that I would be a happy lady!
For a future romantic charactor?
What about this guy..Michel de Chevin

I thought he was just adorable, he has a lovely accent and was a chevalier and champion of Empress Celene. But apparently he was in disgrace when we meet him and recruit him. There's a romantic story to be told there, I reckon he would be a great romance for us ladies!

I actually really wanted to like Iron Bull, but his character can pretty much be summed up as "Hohoho, I'm horny with a big penis! Isn't that funny and great?!" If his personal quest mattered in any shape, form, or fashion it would have helped.

I agree. Blackwall is just too old for me and Iron Bull.. well, BDSM so nope.
It's amazing how perspective can change things though. I'm currently trying Solas and I'm not finding it all it's jacked up to be. The second kiss you practically have to stop him from running away so he has to make a choice to be with you or bury his feelings, and that's not something I like. I'm a little put off by his attitude towards the Dalish so that's a problem as well. I just cannot make a full judgement on the whole romance without knowing his motivations. Some poeple draw the line at sex but entering into a relationship while hiding your true identity isn't admirable either.
The last scene I didn't make it to yet, but it's pretty much him deciding his bigger vision and motivations are more important than you so he has to let you go. It can be taken as he came close to explaining everything to you, but I see it as just that, he couldn't and whatever he "thinks" is important is more important than being with you.
Again, we have to see what the overarching story is with him but I doubt it'll be all worth his attitude. If it is, I'll eat my words. They have to amaze me. Because he's all mystery and if something has to be done, it better be worth it.
Also an immortal powerful being falling in love with a mortal... how many times have I seen this. ![]()
Didn't want to riff on the romance that much, just wanted to explain how I felt.. tastes differ, so if people think his romance was best then of course it's valid. ![]()

They said in an interview that past romances are intentionally left out because since it's a new main character every time, they don't want to put players in a position where they would be "cheating". It was in this months Game Informer.
Unfortunately. I had hoped they would give her a romance content, but only for the players whose DA:Keep worldstate have Leliana single. So if you say, import a Warden who is with Leliana, no romance.

Not another blond! Lol. I'm all full on blond cuties (Alistair, Anders, Cullen) . Give me tall dark and handsome next. (kidding... partially)
Seriously, though. I wouldn't be too opposed. I'd definitely like to see his character next game.

I'm currently trying Solas too and I just got that balcony scene the other day. I like that he's a little hard to get. I'd never really like that IRL, but in stories it's delicious drama. I like that his heart is being overruled by his mind. I hear him saying "I just can't quit you!"
Delicious.
