"It seems like a lot of people would be looking for this"
What do I use Gold Horn for?
One of the valuables.

Is it an actual gold horn or a Grail?
I haven't found anything for it yet, but have kept it in inventory just in case so far.
I'd like to know this as well, and what some other 'valuables' with text that have cryptic descriptions could be used for. What about the blood soaked teddy bear? The bounties with the orlesian seals? Man I wish they'll fix that horrible 'valuables' system so I can finally know what on earth to sell. Or at least give me a freaking storage chest to store whatever I'm unsure about!
yeah ... Started a thread pleading for the return of the storage chest for stuff like this.
I sold all that stuff. I think it's suppose to be our "Torn Trousers" and meant to be loot to sell.
Yeh valuables is just the new name for junk, there is a video with Laidwaw that somewhere, possibly the twitch stream with AWR but I am unsure.
The valuables stuff works fine when it comes to the monster items because they have descriptions, so my policy of sell everything without descriptions works, but then items like this show up and I can't sell them because what if they are useful. They never were though, which makes me sad.
It's probably for a quest that was removed at some point..
Found it.
At about 9:18, he starts talking about it.
They changed the name of junk to valuables because of complaints about it being called Junk. I don't think they really understood the complaints tbh but there you have it. ![]()
I kept all of the junk items (Yes I used the term junk dammit!) with discriptions until the very end and never got to return the ring or use the horn in some manner etc. So unless I missed something you'll be perfectly fine with selling them.
Yeah. I kept that horn in my inventory to the very end and nobody ever reqested it.
And yeah, all those valuables with descriptions are really confusing. It took me a long, long time before I understood that those are not for quests or anything.

Just go the creature research table and turn that stuff in. Although requisiton stuff is also there.
Just only sell non-material stuff
Wheel of Time reference maybe?

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Maybe I want to save myself a couple of loading screens when I'm out exploring x_x. You HAVE to admit the system was 'safer' in DA2

I'm just saying that as a way to avoid selling the useful stuff by accident. Not defending the system
Oh good, then I can stop keeping them. The golden horn, the sad splinters, the engraved necklace, etc.

This is why the junk/valuables setup is a problem. The Gold Horn might just be a funny, but it looks EXACTLY like the Sad Splinters, which are a crafting component (and which DON'T go to valuables).
You can sell the Gold Horn. I thought it was related to the golden halla, and I was too late - but nope, Biower tweet confirms it is only for selling.
Sad Splinters are actually a crafting mat, if you can find the banana-sword schematic.
Keep Sad Splinters, well if you want what i see as a Jeff Dunham reference. Jose Jalepeno On a Stick vs. Mark's Banana On a Stick. LOL Also a possible reference to Mark Hidreth of DAO or Baezley of DAI cast.
