So i was messing around earlier respecing Dorian into a more CC based mage and stumbled across this combo. Im not sure if the skills are meant to interact as such and if many people know about it?

 

I did a little bit of *testing* if you can call it that....

 

I found that if you cast ice mine directly underneath yourself, ice armor triggers but then breaks 10 secs or so later. But if you cast it slightly away from yourself and then walk into it ice armor triggers and remains until some annoying enemy gets all up in your face, then mine go boom and you loose your armor.

 

 

If anyone else uses this or experienced it i have a few questions....

 

 

Is Ice armor that useful?

would it be considered wasting ice mine by using it in this way? Granted i think it would only really be useful on the character in which you choose to control.

I don't really use ice mine that much, although I know other people love it. I find ice armor useful mostly insofar as you need it to get blizzard anyway. Cast blizzard or ice wall near your mage (which you are likely to do anyway) and you will generate armor, which is never a bad thing. If you don't plan on getting blizzard, I'm not sure if it's worth putting a point into ice armor - it's up to you to decide how useful it will be.
