Vivienne.

The "C" word applies to that woman in every sense.

If, as I suspect, you are referring to an organ possessed by half the population, please stop it.

The organ in question is both beautiful and functional, and should not be used as an insult.

Yeah, some of us like those things!

My bench warmer was Sera. The few times I take a rogue with me its either varric or cole.

Also if iron bull is dying alot take away dragon rage from him and spec into vanguard. He will build guard and not hurt himself. Reaver is only good if you are in direct control.

Very rarely used Cole or Vivienne. Cole was just unlucky to be third rogue in a pecking order behind Varric who i adore and Sera.

Vivienne i just didn't particularly like as a character and she was even further down the mage pecking order as my Inquisitior was a mage too.

Iron Bull, because he was my least favorite.
.

Dorian because Rift Mage and Knight Enchanter are better than Necromancer to me.

Cole. I mean, I'd use him more if there wasn't eight other characters that I found more interesting and entertaining. Also, dude's weird.

Last round Blackwall was warming the bench a heck of a lot too... no real reason, gonna try to use him more this time.

Cole is a funny one. When he first joins he's really squishy and doesn't do much damage but when you level him and get him better gear he's a beast. Iron Bull i like having but as a solo Tank he kinda sucks because he's so squishy. Does tons of damage though I've had lots of joy teaming him with Blackwall who is the best Tank but when Cole is tooled up you might as well use him for heavy melee damage unless you are a dagger Rogue then put Bull in there along with yourself and turn everything into sliced salami. The only party member who starts bad and stays bad is Varric you just get forced to use him for the first part of the game but you're best off getting Sera as soon as possible for an Archer who isn't a waste of space.

I found setting 'Devour' to 'Preferred' in Bull's tactics ups his survivability a lot.

During my first run Vivienne and Dorian sat at Skyhold almost all of the time, seeing as my mage Lavellan and Solas were glued at the hip. I still managed to make Vivi and Dorian both adore me by doing their personal quests though.

Thanks for the tips. I have a lot more success with Cole because I'm far better at using Rogues than I am more offensively minded warriors.

Hopefully next playthrough Bull won't spend as much time warming the bench.

Seriously. Why can't people just call a woman a jerk? Or if it must be a body part, why not call a woman an a**hole? It's always either a (female) dog or a vagina, both of which are the greatest things - as are women.

Everyone who isn't Cole, Cassandra, Varric, Ironbull, Solas, and Dorian.

So..Sera, Viv, Blackwall are my benchwarmers. the reason is because I'm not attached to them nor care for them that much despite doing their final quest and such.

I'll explain everyone :3

sera's bow is normal and weak compared to varric's machinegun bianca. i switched her as daggers
but then cole came and pretty much said, "I got this sera,..y-you should go play somewhere else" i switched her back to bows but varric's bianca..in the end I had no use nor spot for her in the battlegroup

blackwall, he's..boring to me xD okay not boring before i upset blackwall fans, he's really dull and bland. too normal is the word i think. in the battlefield, cassandra is my shield, and i love two, two-handed warriors! so made blackwall a two-hander..he was'nt as good as ironbull when it came to his health and it was'nt until later in the game that i thought i screwed up his skills. he's supposed to be the shield and i screwed up XD so i reset  him and completed his shield/wall tree. (it should've been obvious that he's a shieldlike person as his name is blackWALL heheh) dude turned a beast on the battlefield with his new skills. but i still preferred cassandra regardless that her templar skills sucks compared to blackwall. i use blackwall seldom now

last...is viv. She likes my inquisitor..too bad i don't like her XD her boogie way of life thinks she's fit for anything. woman is not humble, thinks she's higher than might, but her knight enchanter skills is alright. she's overpowered with the knight sword but i like challenge in my battles. i don't want to one-shot everything and because solas is my ice and rift, dorian the fire and lightning, i have no use for viv

i easily cycle through my 6 preferred companions as
cassandra, varric cole,
ironbull, dorian, cole
solas, cassandra, varric
solas, ironbull, dorian
etc etc etc

Chaos all around!

Cole, since I'm a DW rogue. He's interesting but he's not really helpful in my team comp.

Vivienne.

I didn't dislike her, she was alright...but my character is a mage, plus Dorian and Solas are amazing too...so....there really just wasn't any room for her. lol

#1: Iron Bull, in my first playthrough because I was a 2h warrior myself and we didn't need another. And now in my second playthrough because HE DIES INSTANTLY.

#2: Cole, because he's squishy

Everyone else I juggle into the party fairly frequently. I keep meaning to get Cole and IB in there more often, but then they drink all my damn potions and I remember why they babysit the keep.

I'm surprised to see that Iron Bull dies frequently on some playthroughs and that Solas is durable. Iron Bull basically solo'd a high dragon on Nightmare in my game. But I do spec him as Sword/Shield and ignore Dragon Rage. Meanwhile, Solas seems to think he's a tank in my playthroughs. He almost never protects himself from danger, despite having Fade Step and upgraded Barrier, and wastes all of my potions.

First time around, I didn't take IB or Blackwall with me much. My Inquisitor was a qunari Champion, so IB and Blackwall felt sort of redundant. Sera came along for some dragon fights since tier 3 Thousand Cuts is amazing, but I didn't take her much anywhere else.

This time, all of the rogues are benchwarmers. Especially Cole, since I rolled a DW rogue. Blackwall's a benchwarmer again - he and Sera are my least favorite companions.

Iron Bull, I think he's a great character, but no matter how hard I tried he. Would. Not. Stay. Alive.
Sera comes in second, like her as well, just likes Varric and Cole a whole lot better

Viv just because I tended to forget about her.

Sera because Varric and Cole are better/more interesting.

IB because his VA is terrible.

As a mage, I used Varric, Cassandra, and Iron Bull, and my party was pretty much invincible. Cassandra and Iron Bull used guard, and I used barrier. Between us, and the fact that every hit I connected gave me more barrier, we were unbeatable. Varric was the only squishy one because he would run off to a corner somewhere and didn't make it inside the barrier circle.

I tried to switch out characters when I knew they'd have extra dialogue in a mission, like bringing Cole when I went to Adamant, Varric in the cave/deep roads missions, etc.

I used Vivienne the least. I liked Solas the best as a mage, and Dorian with his necromancy disabled was good, too. Vivienne just never found a place with me. I probably used Sera/Cole the second least, just because I like Varric better, even though Bianca was never as powerful as their weapons. I brought Blackwall around for the warden fetch quests, but little else, as even the Warden missions didn't add much with him.

Iron Bull. Aside from my first playthrough I don't even bother recruiting him anymore. Bromance characters are incredibly annoying. Garus from Mass Effect and Varick from DA are tolerable.

Maybe if they had brutal dialogue that allows you to throw insults at your companions, I'd be more inclined to talk to him. Seriously, I miss this kind of dialogue " You're a real b *** h, you know that?" - HoF to Morrigan.

In my fist playthrough and third it was all the mages, since I was a mage and prefer to have just one in the party.

In pt2 it was probably Vivienne as I preferred Dorian and Solas as my mages. Varric was also prefered over Sera and Cole because i played as a dwarf then and wanted mah dual dwarf team.
