Wow I didn't expect almost any replies. Okay so i'll try to be fair here and not just spout my burning disdain for this game. First off the combat, I can understand the step towards a more action based RPG because it sells better and they're a business. The tactical view is useless I play on nightmare and only bosses really require some small uses of it. Plus on ps4 they seem to forget the command if you go back to third person and not just advance time. The skills while flashy and fun when first aquired dont really change the dynamics that much because much like an MMO you find a very basic boring rotation of skills to use in synergy as opposed to having a toolkit of skills and spells each shining through in certain combat situations. I loved the feeling in DA:O when a skill I previously thought useless showed that with some adaptation and good set up be a force to be reckoned with. Though in DA:O my rouge foot shuffling was tedious. As for the quests alot of you seem to be missing the point. First off no im not talking about requistition quests being dull because I seem to complete many of them whilst just playing. My gripe with the sidequests arent  the objectives and their gather this kill this i'm aware lots of RPG's use this and I have no gripes with it. Its the story within sidequests is literally non existant beyond "can you help please?" As I said look to Cullen that character was created as a small dialouge sidequest that helped worldbuild and gave you a good sense of his personal strife. That no longer exists, the hinterlands is a great example "Oh inquisitor we are cold, hungry and have bad morale!" Literally one of the only quests not guilty of this was the father whos kid ran off and knew how to make the potion for his mom that couldnt breathe. Many of the quests simply parrot the same thing while expecting you to care or help. I know they can do better because look at the amazing companion side quests that put you into the thick of immersion. Like with Cassandra you figure out she has very soft inside and is even a romantic, then her quest progresses into learning about the seekers, their fate, and her relationship with them. Obviously Bioware is capable of doing better they just lost alot of focus for the sake of content so they could market OVER NINE THOUSAND HOURS OF GAME OF THE YEAR CONTENT!!!1!!!1! The story is as cheesy and fun as one would expect from a world ending crisis, and such I personally love the analouge towards religions and faith, being someone who isnt of faith these subjects are freash and compelling to me especially in a fantasy setting. I didnt enjoy the first talk with Dorion, his whole exile and plight of being a mage felt like you could replace apostate with gay and the scene would have made as much sense. Nothing reminds me im playing a video game written by a young modern person more then hot button issues showing their face in a game set in a fantasy ye olde age game. Most of the other characters were done well in regard to that topic of being ****** though. As a immersive hardcore book turned video game the game missed its mark. As game of the year, easily digestable ARPG it did just fine though. It's worth mentioning the game isn't the worst release of recent years and at least Bioware still give us rpg's instead of some try into a more marketable game type. Also why did they just tack on the multiplayer couldn't they have just waited for a good idea for multi.
