Am I the only one who finds it disappointing that you can't see headgear during cutscenes and cinematic conversations? Unless there is a secret-sauce way of making that happen, I think this is an odd design choice.

It's especially odd when you consider the fact that helmets appeared during cutscenes and conversations in literally ALL pre-launch promotion material. For example:

Spoiler

As far as I can tell, that is no longer possible as of the final version of the game. And that strikes me as somewhat disappointing.

Go into "Options".  There's a toggle.

The only toggle I can see is one that hides helmets during gameplay. Helmets are always hidden in conversations and cutscenes.

I'm not in front of my screen, but did you try that option?

I did. It's disabled by default.

As far as I know, the helmet toggle doesn't effect cutscenes.  If you want to see helmets during cutscenes, I think you're SOL.

They're always off in cutscenes. It's dumb.

Beyond that, they should really have a character specific hat toggle, like in SWTOR. Maybe I don't like my rogue wearing a grey warden helmet with his duster, but I shouldn't have to sacrifice Viv's horns.

There are very good reasons why helmets are off in cinematics and why they were on in promotional material. Certain helmets and hats would interfere with camera angles and cause clipping during cutscenes, which is why they are turned off. The Inquisitor always had a helmet in those early gameplay videos because Bioware was intentionally hiding the character's face, because they didn't want people to feel that there was an iconic or canon Inquisitor.

Its always been that way in Bioware games.
