Hi guys,

I have been reading a lot of your suggestions about on how to get the best of the game without getting frustrated by all the collectibles and such.

But I also read that some of you recommend to leave some areas unexplored for following playthroughs. Here is where I have so many doubts, for example I love to play my canon character and make the choices I would do and so, then I go for the opposite with the next pc just for fun and see what I missed.

If, lets say I leave one whole area unexplored and that area has an awesome story mission that could let my first character to make some cool decisions, wouldn't you hate to have missed it?

Just to arrive with your next pc and seeing the opportunity you missed the first time with your canon pc... I don't know. I wouldn't like that at all.

I think I will try to explore everything I can with my canon pc and then once I know what I am dealing with, I will know if my next pc will go there or do that depending on how I am playing it.

What do you guys think? What would you do or how are you playing it?

Thanks!

(sorry if I have mistakes, english is not my first language)

I usually stick in an area until i feel burnt out and then move on. I will then go back to the area later on and do a couple missions etc jump around a bit so it never feels like work.

Don't complicate simple things. Explore one area until you are sick of it, and move on.

I do similar. I make sure I knock out each region's key quest(s) but ignore most of the filler, and jump around between zones. I've been juggling Western Approach, Storm Coast, Hissing Wastes and Exalted Plains for a while now. I'll do a little bit in one, then switch up my team and go to another.

But I kind of regret my approach during this playthrough. It feels like to get the most out of Inquisition, you have to approach it with just the right mindset. I think my original approach was way off and it took me quite some time to really enjoy myself. I find settling in one zone and getting everything done in one fel swoop (I did all of hinterlands, all of crestwood, etc.) is the best way to burn yourself out.

So I figure, the important is you do the zone's prominent quests and alternate between a few zones.

The only real issue is that at some point you end up outleveling areas, even without any xp-boosting inquisition perks.

Everyone's playstyle is different of course, but here is how I tackle it.

My first playthrough is never usually the one that ends up being my personal canon, because I don't look at guides and am trailblazing. I make decisions that end up with consequences I hate, even though it seemed a good idea at the time. I miss stuff, even though I try my best to get everything. For example, I went around getting as many shards as I can. But now that I'm staring at the point of no return mission in the game, it feels silly to go back to picking up what I've missed with the fate of so many on the line! So, basically my first playthrough is a lot of feeling out things and getting to know the curveball decisions that are going to get thrown at me.

Then in my second playthrough I have a better idea of what the possible outcomes may be and what my character will have to do to achieve the canon I want, and in that one I will have a better idea also of where things are and how to get them. I also wont have to be concerned about plot spoilers when looking for collection guides and outcome scenarios. So I guess the truth is different for me. I will be going for 100 percent with my second character, not my first. And she will have my "perfect" DA:I world. Hopefully.

Of course if I do manage to fudge up a decision in my second playthrough - which is very likely considering how many they toss at you - then I will likely skip any collectibles that don't help me achieve the perfect world state I want in my 3rd, or 4th playthrough. But I'd never skip the map quests. Especially when they will go by that much quicker on later attempts.

I'm with JCAP. Explore until you're bored, and move on. You can (almost) always come back. And besides, to literally do every single thing in one play through would take eons. A couple hundred hours at least, and you'd be straining your RP experience by putting off the quests. At least *I* would, if I did that.

Anyway, no need to fret over what you might miss. You're going to miss a bunch no matter what.

I'm a completionist so I try to get 100% in each area however you can sometimes burn yourself out staying in just one area so I recommend try to get 100% by switching regions in between to mix it up a bit. If you do 100% in just one region first and then move over to another and wont leave till your 100% then you have quite the grind waiting for you.

This.   Plus, even after the main story I have heard that many quests are still complete-able.   I have yet to finish the final quest as I am still burning through some of the interesting side quests.  I am level 19 and still have a TON of quests to complete too if I wanted to, and so many unlocks.  LOTS to do.
