I think, 'perfect' in this case means that the individual is ultimately satisfied with the product despite all its flaws. We used to say 'you were perfect tonight' to our friends and famiy even if this is not so.

1. I have no idea what you're talking about, there are plenty of cool unique armors and weapons in the game. Also, crafting allows you to create armors without class restrictions so with the right materials you can craft and wear any armor you can find a schematic of.

2. I thought there were more than enough combinations of materials, especially in the higher tier schematics. What kind of experimentation did you want to do then that it doesn't allow?

3. What do you gain for companion quests? How about story? Learning about and getting to know the characters? Does everything have to give you some ultimate loot to make it "worthwhile"?

4. Again, no idea what you're talking about. I find plenty of purples. And sure, they are eventually outclassed by higher leveled weapons, but not quickly and for their level they are easily the best available.

5. OP did say that the game had its issues. Not sure why this is a counter argument then.

6. I cannot truly judge on this as I do not play PC but there seem to be plenty of people who get along fine with the PC controls. Clearly this is not a universal problem. And again, OP did not deny there were issues.

7. The Inquisition has a base of operations and it would be mad to not let you run around in it. It is a place to come back to after each mission and outfit all your new loot on every single character and craft and modify armors and weapons and sell all the stuff you don't want. And not to mention talk to all your companions and learn things from and about them. Sure, the upgrades are largely cosmetic but why is that a bad thing? You can display your Inquisition's focus or Inquisitor's personality through it, which is the point.

8. Clearly a lot of the content is optional. Which is the point. If you enjoy it, do it, if you don't, don't.

Exactly.

Personally I would say "perfect" is a big word, nothing is ever perfect. But in spite of all its bugs and imperfections this is a pretty damn awesome game.

1. Right - 2 - 3 Ugly (Some of the Color schemes on for crafted armors are downright Fugly) as hell variants of weapons and armor for each class that look like they have been commissioned in a Chinese sweatshop and made with $1 or less budget? Give me a break mate...My point was that there is no uniqueness..at least when it comes to armors/helmets.  you have a rather Poor Selection of Items that you can craft. Yes i give you the fact that some purples look different but that's about it.

2. As for crafting I meant things like combining different type of metal/leather/Stones  to get a crafting item that has 2-3 different ingredients. Something like combining Bear Hide + Cotton and getting a crafting material with 1/3 or 1/2 of the stats of each individual Crafting component and then using the result as a standalone Crafting material. Combine Dragon Bone + Everite and use the result as a main ingredient for weapon crafting....and so forth

3. Not loot but the feeling it was worth doing it. Example:  I finish Cassandra's side quest - I don't want loot, give her a boost on stats (, +3 to Strength or faster attacks, or more resistance to something) or a new Skill Point...I don't want stuff for myself, I want for my companion.

4. Plenty huh? There are less than 30 UNIQUE WEAPONS/ARMOR and some random Unique belts/Amulets/Rings. Other RPG AAA titles have twice if not thrice the content

http://www.geimin.co...ocations-guide/

6. There is a difference between "Working Alright" and "Working as Intended". just like driving a car that has bike handles instead of a steering wheel and a car with an actual steering wheel. In both situations the car is driving, but the experience is not the same. Analogy in regards to the controls. The inability to bind keys at will via the game and not some 3rd party program is unacceptable in a $60.00 game like this. It only shows what a ******-poor job porting this for PC

7. With what? 2 choices for each that actually don't do much? Cosmetically there is no difference between Mage Tower and Templar Tower. Garden over sanctuary gives you 4 extra plant pots and Training yard only adds a small melee area. Wow....i am soo impressed I will bake a cake...

8. No Comment....

Best RPG ever, by far, hands down. So many genius mechanics. Whoever came up with barrier and guard should win a Nobel Prize.

Not exactly true. Take a look down at Tech Support section and after going through a few pages of threads come and tell me more about the "Genius Mechanics"

1. Ugly is in the eye of the beholder, I thought they looked cool. Also, almost everything looks different on every character, so you won't be walking around looking the same as your teammates. And different crafting materials give different colors, so there's that problem.

2. Yeah. That's a whole new crafting layer that I'm actually rather glad isn't in this game. That kind of hyper detailed crafting is only interesting for minmaxers, really. And most people aren't that, I'm sorry to say. Besides, there are already a ton of different crafting materials in the game with all kinds of stats that you can combine in a gazillion different combinations all with different effects. It's just not necessary.

3. Again, why is it useless if it doesn't give a tangible reward (whether that be loot or extra stats)? Is story and characterization not enough? Also, you do get XP and power and influence and all that crap, so there's reward anyway.

4. Eh, I guess you and I have different definitions of how many unique items you need. I've never had a shortage of purples.

6. You can bind keys in this game. But I'll concede you that point, despite the swearing. I'm well aware you're not the only one who's complained about it.

7. It's more choice than many other games have in their home base. And again, it has its uses, and a logical reason to be there.

Hi. Hi. So, let's put some thing(s) to rest. Hander Wayne is right (thank you, for pointing that out btw). 'Perfect' is a saying, but I generally don't splash out compliments if I don't mean them. It has a way of coming back to hunt me. Sylveria Relden, also thanks, because ya... there's not enough serious statements going into forums. I should really go through and say thanks to anyone who's been decent or kind individually, but this is a ...I'm not sure? I pageant.

I could really complain for hours about so much I really do not like about this game. There is a lot, but as a whole... I liked it. I love Final Fantasy Tactics. I dearly love that game, but I don't play it through all that often. Why? I'm not sure. It takes a long time to get a monk with enough Faith points to teleport reliably. Days, full 24 hours days, really. I just don't have that kind of time any more. For this game? The two... possibly even three beginnings to the game are rather like that.

The Beginnings:

1.

Character creation would be brilliant if it were not for the hair. Hair is absolutely terrible. A fact I'm relearning as I tried to make a new character today. So, the hour + that I'm going to spend making a character only have to spend 15 minutes to get to the save feature (or possibly crash somewhere leading to it is ...beyond frustrating). Did I mention hair? Yeah... hair. Hmm, what else.

2.

Oh, right... the LONG climb up Boring Mountain. Boring Mountain is that whole snowy region we start in all the way up to the rift at the top. It was not exciting to begin with and it gets worse every time I so much as think of starting another character. My only opinion about this is "I wish there were cheats" because I'd chose 'god mode' and 'super damage', speed through it all and save.

3.

Mother-Crazy-Person-the-Nun... I love how Redcliffe has the option "talk to the nun to skip this region" because I can't do it fast enough. However, it's all trap. After I get done 'collecting' her I run to the War Room to select Val Royeaux only to go "Nooo!" as I read there are 4 points required to go there. "But whhhy," I ask the evil game? Why? Because now I have to go level with my crappy weapons when I could go to Val Royeaux and buy shiny pointy things (really, they are shiny and pointy and I loves them). Again I'm left with "I wish there were cheats" because I'd choose "Add what's-it points" to get to go to that mission NOW and then save the Mages.

After 1, 2, and 3 are over it's like the game is on. I can go do stuff I enjoy, like see the pretty places. I can out there and kill all the varieties of enemies. This is when the game starts. I'm way too A.D.D. to just stay in one place. That's the huge appeal of this game to me. "Hey Cullen, you're a nice guy right? You'd go take six hours to go do this boring stuff for me? Right? ...Wait? You will? Seriously?! \o/" Say ya, having NPCs go collect text for me without me having meet the next in-character, but sexist religious right wing nut job I can't stab to death gleefully is ... therapeutic. If you haven't done the Red Jenny quest with Sara yet to meet her contact you won't understand that joke. Nor will you likely predict how stab-happy I was at the end of the Winter Palace. Sera's a bad influence on me... and a good influence on how games should operate. Hints to how it ended for a certain yellow Eclipse merc in ME2 can also be found here...

Want some other biffs? Hmm, how about the Qun being the closest thing to Asia in the game, but I'm pretty sure no one in Asia has horns. Josephine doesn't count, she's Persian; right down to her twitchy hand gestures.

Why is my ballroom attire the same as a bell-hops and why did I get it for an armor choice?

See, I'm complaining now. It doesn't do any good. Someone at the upper levels of making this game cut-corners. So, we have bad hair. Someone else was drastically fearful we wouldn't understand how to play the game if they didn't spell it out for us. So, we got three beginner areas that trap us to a very boring start.

Someone said we can wear whatever armor we want if we get the schematic? Did I read that right? How do you do this? I want to wear keeper robes on my stealthy. It's the only thing elfy I have. :/

If you're angry go insult someone you're angry with. If you're insulted figured out why. I never insulted anyone here. I enjoyed the game

Ggggaaaaammmme

Not every little thing is going to turn out wonderful in any game. I'm not going to flip flop on my opinion. It was a damn good game. Every valid complain I see on here is either 'the hair is terrible' or 'this or that is bugged'. If you want me to support your hate of the game you aren't going to get it. If you want me to support your ire for ire's sake you really aren't going to get that. The game has issues. I have issues with issues. We all have issues. Making issues don't fix issues. Blah blah blah... blah..blah.

3. Because it's more of a chore ATM...You kill a dragon - you get loot. You raid a chest -you get loot. You level up - you get a skill point. Why should it be different for the companions?

6. Do show me the options in the menu where I can bind 6 different attack commands to the 6 extra buttons I have on my RazR Naga mouse?....I do believe I am not blind and for all the searching I did I couldn't find them. Apologies for the swearing though

Mostly agree with OP even I am not finished but played 100h+

Well maybe not Perfect but a great Game for sure.

For me the best Game since Dragon Age Origins and a worthy successor.

Thank you Bioware and please go on like this. :)

You were actually making a rude and idiotic suggestion. And I really doubt I'll be taking advice on intelligence from someone with your syntax. The OP made a significant number of insipid or otherwise questionable claims. These have been being disputed and evidence provided to the contrary.

Hey Spock..syntax or relax? Maybe some ex-lax ® and you start talking like a normal person? Jes kiddin..your kinda cool!

A lot of people posting here are unnecessarily angry. Do you really believe snarky one off comments or attacking people gets anywhere? You think you are cool or awesome by doing that? Do you think you are somehow accomplishing something?

Here's some things you've accomplished:

Abandoning all the intelligence that started with dialogue and fair open-minded opinions that started with, let's say... the Renaissance. Those ideas and ideals lead to the birth of say... the Age of Enlightenment and oh... hmm... Democracy. Your civilization. You know... the systems and ideologies that lead to your civilization creating the computer and video games. What exactly do you want to represent here? Shiria Law? Fundamentalism? Seriously, I challenge anyone in this forum who's having a pissing contest about whatever gripe it is they are on to consider just how far they want to take that, because that's where your end game takes you: Fundamentalism.

You want to represent something? Use words, not snark. Snark is just a cat pissing on the rug because it didn't get fed. Citation to garner argument is lovely, as long as it aims to make a case. I'm giving this a back and forth. It's called a discussion in amongst the civilized. For the rest... pissing on the carpet... I acknowledge that, but I again will inform you it has one destination: history. I'm really going to assume the vast majority having this pissing contest are 'boys' trapped in a hormonal period, but at some point in you late life take a moment to reflect if you contributed to what you thought you did... if you're just pissing on the carpet.

For those who have more than snark as their totality of being:

Thanks for the genuine back and forth. I'm coming to this post again, but something to reflect on as well... Anyone enjoy Kubrick Films? Remember Full Metal Jacket? Kubrick was a genuine. No really, documented sort of mad-house genius we all could only wish for. Well, he liked to put things in plain sight in his movies. Things to keep us thinking about life and the complexity of it all. If and where possible, he'd clarify by leaving something open ended.

Here we get the 'pacifistic' journalist having his argument with the Vietnam War. How he does it? Wear a peace sign on his coat, but have "Born to kill" on his helmet. The soldier thought he was being clever. His Colonel doesn't think so and asks him to 'speak it plain', as my uncle would have said. He was military and like this. Well, soldier doesn't. He tries to dodge out of the question. Never a good plan with military people. It's either frank or whimsy. You never want to land in the 'whimsy' boat with the old military men. Never. Has the Colonel says, "You'd better get your head and your ass wired together or I will take a giant **** on you." So the soldier clarifies: "I think I was trying to suggest something about the duality of man, Sir!"

Watch the video. If you find yourself siding with the soldier... watch out. Kubrick is playing a game here. If you find yourself siding with the Colonel... careful, that's only the other side of the playing field. The 'ball', as it were, hasn't been provided yet. If you're in the forum presuming that inside everyone of us trying to be you then you are very confused about the realities of the situation. If on the other hand, you believe silently communicating your opposition to something by snark and venom I'm going to treat you like a cat that pissed on my floor.

I made this post in earnest. I enjoyed the game.

Who knows? Maybe I got a lucky playthrough and the random number generator fell in my favor. I got the things I needed as a I needed them. Sometimes a little behind pace. Sometimes a little ahead, but I got a great game out of it for me.

I already argued why I thought it was perfect several times now. Those facts haven't changed because I'm having a discussion in here. But! I suppose it was my ignorance to presume that was the reality of all that was going on.

Sorry if you didn't enjoy this game. If you paid for it and it is genuinely unplayable then ya, you've got some good reasons to be angry and I can see what my use of the word 'perfect' might have problems worth arguing about. Life's complex like that. If on the other hand, you're in here for some other reason... I can't help you. You're stuck. Life's like that too.

1. That is certainly an interesting combination. But you crafted that armor. That the arms and legs are that color is because you used Halla leather (if that is the armor I'm thinking of). If you used something else they would have looked very different. Bear hide, for instance, would have made them dark brown and much more fitting with the rest of the the color scheme. Or you could have used a different material for the metal part, that would also have helped. Don't blame this on the game when you were in control.

2. I understand. This is not a game series that has traditionally included crafting though. We don't want to overwhelm people with too great a change, I know I'd get confused! Maybe it'll be included in a future game, who knows. Stuff like metal alloys at least would make sense to me, as technology progressed in Thedas.

3. You think doing companion quests is a chore? I guess that changes things. See, I don't think it's a chore at all. The biggest reward for the companion quests is the quest itself, the story that you get out of it. Getting to know the character better, building your relationship with them. That's reason enough for me to do it. Would I be far wrong if I guessed you're playing this game more for the combat than the story? Not saying that's the "wrong" way to play the game, just gives you different priorities. Me, I play on casual and have more saves in front of conversations than big battles.

6. That sucks about the mouse buttons, are there many games that make proper use of them all, though? You'll have to educate me, it's been a few years since I've had a working gaming rig. :) Still, the game does have key binding capability, doesn't it? For the keyboard if nothing else.

I support your support of the game.  Perfect is a stretch because it's a buggy mess right now, but in general, I am very happy with the game (more so than DA 2 for sure).

I got what Bioware was trying to achieve in DA2 and w/o some of the cinematics in DA2 to explain background issues- where would inquisition be?  But they sure sacrificed a lot of game play to achieve those goals.

The errors:

Consider for a moment that Frostbite is a new technological approach to making games.  Developing a fundamentally new RPG approach and integrating it into Frostbite - a risky proposition from the start and they were honest about the risk.  No doubt, management could have approached game development better to mitigate some risk, but communication evidently broke down somewhere.  You are also correct that the observed problems are not insurmountable technical issues and I'm pretty sure that the community from the lowest level player has helped isolate most of the issues, everything from:

  1. communications between the two products,
  2. energy management,
  3. missing and incorrect items,
  4. modeling deficiencies,
  5. boundary issues

And the effects these have on game/quest stability, tactics and game play are pretty well understood. No doubt, some things may still be delayed for this upcoming patch- no tiny step here!

So if it never gets said, thank you all for your sacrifice and diligence taking the time to help weed out the issues and document them!
