Actually I think the question is "Why should we be forced to change to meet someone else's ideal of perfection"
You are not forced to since Destroy, Control, and Refuse are options.

Well, we WERE being forced. Thus Shepard's fight. That can be reason enough to not opt for a viewpoint of perfection that was so not-perfect before, that it required a sort of brute force extinction cycle in order to be reasonable for Reapers/Intelligence. There's enough arguments to be made that even if a 'synthesis' is inevitable, that it doesn't have to happen now, in this form. That we should opt for a vengeance or justice before leaping to a kind of peace just because its available right now. That we can continue the conflict (even if in a different form) to an extent for a while (even millenia) longer, if it means the freedom for the entire galaxy to decide on its synthesis, not them allowing one person (Shepard) to decide it, as a savior.
to telling the truth it is vague so they can avoid conflicts down the road.
but from what we "know"
Synthetics gain an understanding of organics
It seems mean emotions, also worth noting that Synthetics are more the AI controlling the body then the Body itself.
Organics will surpass, overcome their limitations .
I'm thinking it means that they have cybernetics upgrades and the like but nothing that will changing their psyche.
