I actually like his new face.

He looks older.

Yeah, really, I think he mainly looks like an older version of himself. Also, seeing as he's a Warden, maybe it's taking a toll on him. It's not like the guy is a Witch of the Wilds shapeshifter with magic or an ex-Orlesian bard who probably has a lot of beauty secrets. :P

EDIT: I had King Alistair btw, but still, he does remain a Warden technically.

I knew alot people were disappointed with his look. At least my nightingale aged gracefully while being the left hand.

I haven't seen him as a warden yet, but I quite liked him as King. I felt it was soo much better than DA2, where I immediately had to mod him because I couldn't take it. I was happy to see he still had his nose shape, too. Maybe after the bitter disappointment of DA2, I had lower standards, but I thought he looked good. Older, but good.

The engine can only do what it can do, and it clearly has some limitations, particularly in terms of human animation, that their coders are probably addressing right now. He looks good considering how completely impossible it was for me to recreate my DA2 Hawke. Yes, it's DA:O Alistair we're talking about, but much of his appearance was related to his eyes, eyebrows and nose--quite limited in this engine, or with the tools it has, at any rate. I suspect they worked very very hard after the outcry last time. And he did look a lot healthier than in DA2, lol. Remember he's 10 years older and a grey warden. He's also a king. A before and after picture of any president shows you just how stressful that kind of thing is.

I think he looks much better than in Origins. Thank god they got rid of his Abercrombie surf's up dude brah hairstyle from Origins.

Oh ikr, I hated his hairstyle in Origins, yes it looked good on him but I thought it was way to modern for their time lol.

Battlefield 4 disagrees.

Yeah - he looked like he aged 30 years instead of 10.

Still better than hobo-Hawke though.

Older, more mature, more stressful job than Lelianna's or Morrigan's.

He looks similar to the comic artwork of Alistair look it up. Still, I'm surprised that Flemeth looks the same yet Hawke and Alistair look completely different from their previous incarnation

I thought he looked extremely pale. Other than that (and the hair which is a problem with 80% of returning characters) he looked okay.

Hmm I think he actually looks a bit better as king than Warden. Maybe finding him in a damp dark cave all by his lonesome added to his comparatively depressing features. :P

A king looks better than a soldier you say?

I'd be pale too if what's going on for him in this game was going on for me, lol.

Thank you for this. He was king in my play through as well and I could have sworn he didn't look like the OP but thought maybe I just didn't pay close enough attention. He does look different to me as king and I do think he looks better (than plain old warden Alistair). But it could be lighting too- that seems to make a huge difference.

Hair colour is awful but I love his upgraded face. Still looks like the same Alistair I've fallen in love with.

I'm just gonna be honest and say I love both characters, but I actually find DAI Alistair more attractive than DAI Cullen. Both are great looking of course... but I suppose I'm in a minority with preference here. :P

He certainly looks DIFFERENT, but I still find him to be handsome. Love the new nose!

Problem with Alistair's DA:I face is that screenshots don't do it justice. You have to see him emoting to make it work and I actually liked it after he smirked a few times and did the whole raised eyebrow thing.

At first I was like "Wow Cullen got all the attention here clearly, what happened to you Alistair!?" but when he's talking and stuff it's actually quite good.

Ah, seeing an Origins screenshot gave me nostalgia.

Anyway, yeah, he looks fine. All the cameos and reappearances do actually.

Of course they won't look exactly the same, that's just silly.

But they all look great.

No idea how engines work.

But from my noob perspective it just seems that DICE have a lot more experience with Frostbite.

Ergo, they can do better things with it.

I think that's one thing people never seem to understand it was the same with early shots of Morrigan people were like "Why does she look different?" and so on. People change and they get older. They don't all have the same hairstyle forever XD. It's been what 13-14 years since Origins in Inquisition?

Ten to eleven, actually.

But yea, Alistair isn't 20 any more. He's either been a warden or a king for ten years; both of those are stressful jobs. Makes sense that he's aged noticeably.

I find him more handsome in DA:I.. He was a bit too baby-faced for me in DA:O.
