So, over this past week I have been getting unique's (all large chest pulls) like crazy and I'm not sure why, but I may have a theory.

Here is how my daily grind goes: I play around 5 hours a day and purchase about 4-8 large chests and I have gotten at least 1 unique a day this week but usually 2 or 3. Mostly superb runes but a few accessories and a couple low level weapons.

I have promoted 7 characters and my prestige is around 160. I have all "T2" basic armors, around half "T1" variants and a few "T2" variants. So my theory is that since my chests no longer have the chance to roll for all these armor sets there is a better chance to roll for unique's. If anybody is having a similar experience or has any insight on my situation the knowledge would be appreciated.

I have noticed a tremendous increase in item quality after playing several 'Threatening' matches in a row.
I've also experienced really bad item quality after doing several 'Routine' in a row.
I do agree that promotions seem to help loot quality as well. Starting to get nice accessories and purple runes.

I am not sure how I feel about the promoting affecting it. I started promoting pretty much as soon as I had a couple lvl 20's and I have only recently begun to see an increase in unique loot. I do not think difficulty has anything to do with it but I don't play routine and I rarely stay in a lobby for more than a match when scrubbin' around. It just seems logical that the odds would be better for unique loot when there is less loot to roll for. Craft dem armors.

My prestige level is in the top 50 on ps4 and I still get total crap.  I've been just saving gold lately because there's no point in spending it because I don't need more crafting materials; hoping they'll fix the store or add better chests/other methods of targeting gear acquisition--I still don't have a dagger over 220 dps or a staff over 100, that's completely insane.  Super boring but what can you do?  I have over 35k atm.  Also, your theory is bonkers, because I have all but around half a dozen of the armors unlocked.

Dang man, that really is insane. I feel bad for you son. I don't have any good weapons really but they did give me quite a few unique accessories. Well shoot, thank you for letting me know my theory is false. I'll just be thankful they are hooking me up with some decent loot.

It's true that as you gain the different armour sets it removes them from the roll. So yep you're right that unlocking classes and armour looks does indeed increase your chances at Uniques as you'll get less rolls where you get an armour set, but more often those high rolls will be uniques or blues

By personal experience; my prestige rank hit 120 and that's when my loot started significantly increasing. I'd be getting NO blues and NO purples whatsoever until I hit 120 - most likely not going to be the case for everyone but it was for me.

i am rank 250 and i am still getting total bullshit, i haven't drop a single 20+ unique yet.

The real issue is you can stack the same item over and over. I was pretty lucky with accessories. but i hade 5 time the 200 health belt wich is ****** damn boring. When you get an accessory/rare/unique item, it should be remove from the loot table.

I refuse to play routine.  The box drops I have been getting are terrible.  I have some good items, but they are so few and far inbetween idk.  Have won quite a few threatening, and some perilous.

People are playing MP with the unofficial SP 60 FPS cut scene fix. This makes the red templar's boss not die "properly" and thus you can't finish the match. Then they blame the problem on Bioware because they installed an unofficial fix...

I have no idea how the drops work. I've been steadily getting good items on all levels - but I do sense there's been an increase since 120-150 prestige.
I am now 183 prestige and I have gathered the sum of 153133 gold. I'm also opening large chests only, in large bulks. Treasure rooms have never given me anything of worth except gold. So far I have gotten 7 purple accesories (duplicate crit chance rings) and 12 weapons (and one shield) including Staff of the Void, Bow of the Griffon, Sulevin Blade, Blade of the Red Birth and Walking Death. Also including 5 quite good blues above item level 20.

I dont know if I'm lucky or what I've done differently. I don't know if people on the same prestige level have the same level of weapons. It wouldnt surprise that most do.

Close.  except I am a console gamer.  That is the issue though.

I have noticed more uniques as I have progressed, together with the overall level of items are higher. I dont tend to get anything under 90 dps anymore. I got a dagger that does 280dps and another that does 250 ish not long after, so that made me happy. Praise RNGesus.

This is only RNG. I am getting lot of purple daggers. But 0 belts... (i am with empty slot...)

I got a purple weapon once.

I might try out the theory of just chain-grinding matches to get enough coins to purchase 3/4 large chests in a row. See if that increases my chance of getting a purple item. 

 

My highest rating weapon is a 2h, followed by "The Last Word" bow for my Archer.

This hasn't happened to me and I'm on PC, but my friend who has it on xbox says it happens often.
