Sounds to me like you've just skipped dialogue and rushed through the game. I'm 35-36 hours in and I haven't even assembled all of the teammates, I've also got all of the teammate's personal quests left except for Miranda. It's all your fault for rushing.

So you're 35 hours in and you've got all that left? What do you do? Manually walk everywhere for emersion? ME2 is far, far shorter than ME1, people have played through the game, done everything and not rushed it and finished inside of 30 hours, just read forums.

My personal opinion on the game is this.

Pro's. Improved combat system, n7 missions are superior to the cookie cutter exploration missions in ME1.

Con's. Removed item management, wtf? Removed NPC customizability, wtf? Removed mako, wtf?

I know why they removed the mako, because fat fingered screwups couldn't figure out how to pilot the thing. It was easy, the analogue sticks were relative to the facing of the mako. If the mako was facing left, push left to go forward. The Xbox controls were in fact superior to the PC controls, took about 5 minutes to get the hang of.

So far for me, ME1 is a better overall game. Better story, better villans, better NPC's, better customizability overall. ME1's combat was really the only thing it clearly loses on but combat in neither game is at all difficult so go figure.

It took you 55 hours to beat KOTOR1!? What on earth were you doing?
It took me 30 hours to complete kotor 100% and it took me 35 hours to complete ME1 100%

KOTOR was an awesome game and took me around 55hrs to complete, Mass Effect 1 although far smaller in scale to KOTOR took me around 40hrs to beat...And now here we are with Mass Effect 2 a game I managed to have a go on and its what only 20-30hrs long???

Also Bioware you have taken out a lot of the RPG elements of Mass Effect 2 and just turned it into a shooter with some rpg elements why??

You guys are known for top end RPG's with Mass Effect 2 it still has static environements, nothing is affected by what you do and on top of that the dialogue is still poor, the characters still seem animated and on top of that you find out what is happening in the first 20mins of the game!!

The game from the get go does not feel epic nor are you feeling like it is an RPG things happen far too quickly nothing is explained in detail and overall after having just played the beta I feel you guys have just opted for a shooter.

Why even use the unreal 3 engine?? Its total rubbish! Come on Bioware whats the deal here? You make a great game which was KOTOR then release ME1 which was a let down in many ways and then with ME2 regardless of the top end reviews the game is clearly more of a shooter.
The first game had far more nice RPG elements to it which you have taken out of ME2 completely and replaced it with something soo basic its basically an RPG for babies.

I am very disspointed in Bioware having played DragonAge and think that game is awesome and is very in depth with lots of rpg elements and took me around 40hrs to beat ME2 is just a shooter, poor dialogue, poor animations, static environments, story on a plate handed to you far too quick and very short for an rpg.

TROLL ALERT

Hardly, just someone with an opinion different to yours.

Is this how it's going to be now in the Bioware forums, any one dares to say they dislike something about ME2 is labelled a TROLL? Why am I even asking that, that's exactly how it's been for months.

Cool story well I played the game before any of you did and I know what I am talking about, if any of you are into RPG's and I mean truely into RPG's then you will know exactly what I am talking about. Its funny as soon as EA's name appears on any game it is instantly ruined.

Bioware why did you not just go to Microsoft instead??

"italics for emphasis, Are you really that ridiculously inane, to suggest they get rammed harder by those thieving bunch of "Wannabe gaming humps?"

good god man!!! We already have to wait, thanks to those friggen' losers,(360).............and their intentional, delayed releases of IP from reputable software houses!

Umm?

This dog is the worst chicken I have ever seen! By which I mean, "don't whine about something not being something it's not, 'kay?"

Mass Effect isn't an RPG in the vein of Baldurs Gate, you have a character who has a few differing paths but who is essentially the same character, if it was a 'proper' RPG there would be hundreds of different abilities to choose from and it would be a totally different game. Sure, you play a role, but all but a few relatively small details are preset. It's not an RPG, it's an RPS and it's a damned good one.

Kotor didn't take long because the enviroments where really closed off.  I spent A LOT of time in ME exploring with the mako and trying to find every single node/etc.

ME1 main quest line is around 8hours, that was my first ME1 run, finished it at lvl 26 or 27. I also made a run that took more than 60 hours and ended it at lvl 50 with almost all the achievement made in one run.

If ME2 main quest is 20H to 30H, that's a good thing, it will be 3 time longer than ME1.

There are hundreds if not thousands of people whom have finished the game already. If you read forums where they talk about the game, they have done everything, every quest, explored every system, done every side mission and it took them 25-35 hours.

I've read the same comments you have Merc. It does seem to take 25 - 35 hours to play. I know one guy finished the main quest only in 12 hours. He got the bloodbath ending though!

Didn't it release in America today? Have 25-35 hours passed since midnight for hundreds if not thousands of them to have finished it? I ask only because only 10 1/2 hours have passed here since midnight, and I thought America was behind Europe?

And none of them are registered.

Interesting.

Criticism or Ranting, the OP is poorly worded and could use some education as far as to making a truly convincing argument.

The result makes it sound like poorly masked ****ing that they 'didn't get enough game' which is rather unfair bias placed upon the game. There is plenty that could consume more than 30 hours worth of game play in this game if you truly wished to expand your game time. And it really shows that increasingly inflated expectations a development company has to deal with as they release games that are still on the whole better than most others on the market.

Unless you're rushing, or strictly following a game guild, you're going to get more than 30 hours out of the game your first play through. Then there's the added replay value that COMPOUNDS with the first game due to the different decisions you can make in the first game affecting things in the second. There are nuances that are made between the two that many are really going to overlook.

This game is gonna be worse then i thought it would have been.

Also DA O told you the whole story in the first 3 hours the first 20-30 min you were still learning your background and who you are.*unless you speed run then its 10min for origin*

I still must say Oblivion is the best game by far with its extreme replay value.*then DA O but i havent had it for as long as Oblivion*

ME is starting to sound like a real shooter game.Oh well.Gonna find out soon enough.

We should create a new word for fanboys shouting Troll everytime they hear an opinion different to their ones.

Even if I don't see the game altogether negative, I am glad, there are some people who give their honest opinion without viewing all things throught their fanboy glasses.

So let me get this right, you didn't like ME1, you don't like the Unreal engine and sooo you go buy ME2 which they've stated before basically uses the same engine just improved on stuff... then come here to rant about it...

If you didn't like ME then it was most obvious you probably wouldn't like ME2, so it ain't Biowares fault if you are stupid enough to buy a game you won't like.

About one of the people on justin.tv, a full run down complete with only 7 achievements left, how sure can he be that he did a 'full run' has he got the strategy guide or something and knows where all the sidequests are? Considering someone earlier in the topic posted that they are at the 35-36 hour mark and haven't even got all their teammates yet, I highly doubt the justin.tv guy you are referring to has completed almost everything bar those achievements in the game. Considering how those achievements are listed having only 7 left doesn't mean a thing anyway when it comes to 'full game completion'.

This isn't the issue, it's the fact that countless threads have been made on exactly the same thing.

Sorry to say it, but a lot of people could care less about others' "first impressions" of the game, especially considering the game hasn't been released worldwide yet

...and then there's the fact that they're posted in the non-spoiler section :?

QQ they changed the game, how dare they!!

Plz it's not a **** game and you know it! I got ME2 blind (not knowing any changes or plot) for a reason and that reason is I want to continue the story, I couldn't care less about the new stuff. They could have turned it into a turned based combat system with all melee weapons and I wouldn't give a shiz, if the story was good and the game worked fine. If you were a true ME and Bio fan then maybe you would understand that they worked hard on this and be happy they made an ME2 at all and tried to make it better then the first.

FOR TLDR PEOPLE:
Stop being a bi*** and play the game, if you don't like it don't play it.

Edit: Also no I don't have the game but all this doom and gloom won't sway me, Bioware has yet to let me down and I doubt ME2 will be as bad as some say.

Any person who has already finished the game, even though it was just released a few hours ago, and isn't registered, is a pirate. Sorry, but there's no reason not to have registered. If you've played 30 hours of the game... well, you couldn't possibly have played that much of the game unless you pirated it.

Sorry, but either register your game so that a red 2 shows up beneath your avatar or

STFU!

If you had not known, some people got the game (legally) before the release date.  I don't think you're able to register until the 26th so not having a "2" under their profile picture does not mean they don't have a right to comment on something they've paid for.  Drop the elitism because it's not making you look good.

Oh, and before you start, I can't register until 10AM est.
