So Cole's personal quest go me thinking about something. 

 

In his personal quest, Cole can choose to either be a spirit to become human.

 

The Chantry's teachings tell us that the Spirits were supposedly the first creations of the Maker and the sapient humanoids such as Humans and Elves were the second.

 

However, what if that was NOT the case ?

 

What if peoples like humans and elves descended from ancient spirits ? 

 

Like in the real world, our world, humans evolved into existence from a now extinct hominid species that is the common ancestor of modern day humans and other primates. 

 

What if that is the case when it comes to spirits and humans or elves on Thedas ? What if they evolved into existence from a now extinct or long lost or unknown group of ancient spirits that is the common ancestor of spirits and sapient humanoids in Thedas as we know them today ?

He becomes more human, but is also still partial spirit.  He can still read minds and stuff like that, but he can't make people forget anymore.

 

 

It's possible though I guess, it's never really said where humans came from, just from some place and migrated here.
