I've noticed so far all the armor I've crafted has not had slots for arms or legs. Is this true for all crafted armor or is it schematic specific, and if so does anyone have a list of which crafted armors are further customizable?

Yeah, some have slots and some do not. Defender/Vanguard/Battlemaster (Warrior schematics), Scout/Hunter/Prowler (Rogue schematics), Adept/Enchanter/Battlemage (Mage schematics) definitely have Upgrade slots.

Seems that specific ones like Orlesian, Warden, Dalish, Dragon(DLC) armors don't have slots as far as I can tell.

I think the ones that are Human-only don't have slots, the other ones do.

Easy way to tell, if it uses the same model for you and your companions, it won't have upgrade slots. If it changes depending on who's wearing it, it will.

Also if it already has armored gloves and boots, you probably won't be able to add them.

Is there any benefit to the "unique" ones?

Less mats, given u don't have to build arms and leg pieces. Also sometimes u don't have good arms and leg pieces. So till u find them the ones without can hold u over.

But the overall stats seem to be much worse.

They're not much worse, but they're not better than complete 'generic' armours.

However for those you need arms legs and suit schematics

They are much, much worse than armors with arms and legs unfortunately. They have basically 1/3 of the stats.

Arms and legs upgrades arent at all difficult to get. You have T1 schematics in redcliffe. T2 in Val Royeaux or Dalish Camp and T3 in Hissing Wastes on top of everything you find.

And those are perfectly fine for the endgame, even if you DON'T find anything better, yes.
