So, I've done a 4 warrior party and wanted to share how much DAI trys to pigeon hold players into having one of each class into the party.

First off, you cannot finish the game with a 4 warrior party. It simply is not possible. Mages and rogues are REQUIRED to progress in certain sections of the game, either through locked doors, energize points, and magical barriers.

Normally utilizing the magical skill or deft hands of a party member would provide a benefit to the party by providing an easier passage, or access to extra loot. However in DAI they are required to progress in several key quests.

I bypassed the magical barriers by putting runes on all my weapons, but for doors and energize points I had to return to camp and dig a mage/rogue out of my party bag to wave their hands around so that my manly group of warriors could pass.

Needless to say, having a unique or themed party composition is difficult when DAI is constantly bashing you with "must have mage/rogue to continue quest" walls.

P.S.- I ran four 2h warriors if you were interested. :D

Its not exactly so. For side quests you are not required and could have 4 warriors. Some plot lines assume combined arms and also linked to mages/rogues and characters of those classes personal backgrounds. And only bonus content (extra loot) is class gated. Plot could be done with only one class in party.
