The idea that this one man, who was previously forced to go into hiding from his brothers in arms, is suddenly so totally essential to their order's rebuilding just doesn't seem convincing to me. Like, why do they need him to rebuild? You mean among all of these people, there's not a single one among them who is leadership material? Anyway, the Wardens had to pay somehow, so they paid in the loss of their senior Warden and became cannon fodder to do my bidding.
Likewise. I didn't think that way when making the choice between Loghain and Hake, nor would I between Stroud and Hawke. Its never intimated anywhere that Hawke's Warden contact, whomever they might be, is anyone of importance within the order, aside from being a Senior Warden.
