Things you thought would happen in DAI based on trailers prior to release?

Just out of curiosity...

Before DAI was released I admit I stayed away from about as much information and media "reveals" as I could to avoid spoilers (even the smallest trace of one). But the one thing I did watch entirely was the "Enemy of Thedas" trailer (and also prior to that I watched the post-E3 demonstrations).

From what I merely imagined, what I thought would be in the game was:

º A "nemesis" in the form of a "Fade/Ghost/Spirit Inquisitor".

- Indeed, when in the trailer we see that "being" wearing the Inquisitor helm with glowing green eyes taking the real Inquisitor by the throat and lifting him off the ground against the door. At that point I thought "Holy mother of mercy, that thing I'm sure will be there to harass us for the entire game!". I didn't think that it would be the "main bad guy" but perhaps its right arm, sort of, some powerful entity that would try to ambush us or kidnap some party member or kill an Adviser or "infiltrate the Inquisition".

Alas... never happened (well the being in question is there I know, but... yeah not what I thought hehe).

º Some epic battle against "The Dragon".

- By "the" dragon I mean the one that we now know as the Red Lyrium Dragon of course. But based on the trailer and just my imagination I thought that the dragon in question would be much more... hmmm... let's say immediately threatening. That from early on in the game we'd get to witness it destroy something important. That ultimately we'd get to fight it Archdemon Vs Grey Warden-style because, honestly, I did believe that it was an Archdemon.

Alas... never happened (he's there, sure, but... he's basically just a tool for Corypheus... still imposing though, I'll give it that... actually yeah he's more menacing than Cory himself lol).

º A very sinister villain based on the voice alone.

- When I first heard "that voice". Maaaaan... I thought something like "O- Okay... whoever that guy is, that's serious ****." No, I really didn't have Corypheus in mind (and I had played and finished DA2 along with the Legacy DLC something like barely 2 months prior to the game's release). Instead I thought that the main villain (of course I thought the voice in question was to be the main villain's, especially due to the trailer's very title) would be a possessed being. Indeed, for some reason I thought that we'd get to fight - directly and indirectly during the course of the game - a very powerful demon.

Alas... it... didn't quite turn out to be what I thought it could be lol. It was "just" poor Cory.

Although I DO admit here, the first time I saw Corypheus at Haven my eyes opened real wide, never blinked, shocked, jaw almost dropped. And I thought... "....... HIM?! HOLY S-!". And yes during the assault on Heaven I really thought "Ok ok, that guy is serious business, this game is going to be epic". Well ok yes the game is epic in many ways but... yeah... hummm, yeah, Cory is "just" Cory now.

SO...

Anyways, what about you guys? What were you thoughts prior to the game's release? What were your theories? Or perhaps your hopes on what "seemed" to be in the game based on the few (or many) things you'd seen or read or heard about the game?

I did not watch a single video. Last I heard BW was communicating with the forums for fan feedback for DA:I. As well as it was going to be released on XB1 and PS4. As I stood in line on release night I seen a small part of a gameplay trailer.

The game blew me away. It was awesome. After ME2 I stayed away from hype. Great game great hype I enjoyed every moment of it. Yet not as much as I did ME3 and DA:I as every aspect was new to me.

So to me I had little to no idea. I assumed the Mage rebellion would contiue. I had hoped it would not be the center point of the game, but I feared it would. I am completely happy with the product I bought. Ready for more. I would love to see an expansion of some sort. Massive DLCs.

The Inquisitor copy with the glowy green eyes is part of the quest to recruit the Templars, so it's in the game. It wasn't an exact copy of the character like it was in the trailer, for me anyway, weird.
