Hopefully the trademark doesn't mean the sequel will be an online only experience and this is a trademark for a project/site that connects to the game. I'm hoping this reference on "online" means the sequel will include a multiplayer experience.

This news makes it seem likely that we'll be seeing more Dragon's Dogma soon.

Oh hell yeah I'd be super excited for a Dragon's Dogma 2. The "Online" part being in the trademark has me really nervous though. They better not do something extremely stupid like try to make an mmo version of the franchise.

But that's the best way to make money!

I pray that this sequel won't be a sh¡tty mmo. I hope Capcom is only referring to the pawn trading system or a new co-op feature instead.

I can't help but be a little excited about this.

I fear being set up for crushing disappointment... must check my expectations!  :crying:

If they're gonna make a sequel, can it have a story that has some depth and dialogue that doesn't sound corny?

That would be great.

Waah, pretty excited for a sequel of this game :D If it is online mp, however, that excitement will drop again immediately :P I hope they'll improve a few things, but all in all, I rlly liked the first one :)

Waiting on pins and needles! And biting my nails, hoping (praying??) that it is NOT an MMO/Multiplayer only, kind of game. :pinched:

I didn't play the game, I just know there was that chick with the incredible amount of fortitude to survive a dude choking her for like 40 seconds before she expired.

"Elinore!"

Wasn't even her

I think they are not really concentrated on narrative in this game. The combat does make up for it though, cause it is honestly one of the best action Rpg combat systems I have encountered.

I couldn't play the first one. I'm all for great combat, but I need a good enough story to drive me to experience it, and DD fell shoooooort.

So I want them to work on fixing that.

It got better towards the end before being ruined by a weird ending. The end boss fight was great though even if it was a piece of cake. It's even better on offline NG+ because then the end boss is your own character.

The cut scenes in the game were great but it was a shame that there were too few. I too hope the sequel is more content heavy in terms of story and characters. Give us even more cinematics and some characters with real depth.

Also, I hope they're building the game on the same engine as Deep Down.

The dialogue I also couldn't take seriously. I don't know how to describe it other than corny, but it was dumb.

That's the one thing I don't want. My....uh "playstyle" is not exactly conducive to online play. Unless you like pausing every three seconds. For several minutes each time.

I'll be keeping my ear to the ground but i'm not expecting good news for me on this front.

Would an optional MP experience in the form of GTA's MP be a problem then? I think that's how MP for this game should function, separated from the single-player story and campaign but set in the same world where people can form up gangs and go tackle bosses together or even fight each other.

I wouldn't mind if it was online, as long as I didn't have to pay monthly fees, really. I mean, a lot of games are doing seamless MP these days. That MMO feel without really being an MMO.

But knowing Capcom, they'll do whatever they want. Don't expect them to listen to anything anyone's asking for.

I would not be averse to the occasional (and optional) team up. The Dragon's Dogma community (at least the bunch I've dealt with) is one of the most positive, fun groups out there. It's going to sting if this actually happens and Team BSN is split by console.

I just don't want this to turn into another Elder Scrolls Online. We'll have to wait and see what Capcom has in mind. Having "online" right in the title, though... ick.

But don't they already have Deep Down for that? And they did confirm several times that Deep Down isn't DD2. Unless they turn around and say "Oh yeah, we lied, it is."

Spill the beans, Capcom. Hopefully sooner rather than later. I don't want to get too excited just to have all my hopes dashed away.

You don't know what you are asking for when asking for a 'stronger narrative by Capcom'. Just don't ask, seriously.

If everything else from the previous game holds tight and there's enough new to consider it a sequel then I'm in. I liked the first one.
